Hello awesome Friends! For well over three years, I have been collaborating with some amazingly talented blogger friends for our Get Your DIY On monthly themed DIY challenge. Each month we shared a project that fit the theme for that month, then followed up with a link party the following Sunday where we invited other bloggers to share their projects as well. Then we shared our favorites with you. This has been one of my favorite collaborations and these girls have become dear friends.
I’m sad to say that this month will be our last Get Your DIY On Challenge. In honor of all the time spent coming up with these fun themes and projects, our final theme is simply: DIY PROJECTS. We have sifted through all of our own contributions to this fun monthly challenge to bring you our favorites.
Click on the photo or the link below it to take you to that project.
Enjoy this look back with us!

There’s some really fabulous projects here! Three years is probably a really long time for something of this nature to last, so congratulations to all of you for all that dedication and work!!! It’s been very fun!
Christy says
Thanks, Becky! You’re right…three years really is a good run and it has been fun. 🙂
Anna says
This is sad news. It has only been a short while I came upon your blog, always so inspiring, always eager to see new items you made. I personally will truly miss you. I hope you keep your blog site up so some of us can still look up all the items you have made. Thank You very much for all the wonderful posts!!.
Christy says

You girls have been such an inspiration to me and, I believe, all who follow you! I love all the projects and have learned sooo much. Looking forward to all your future posts! Also would love to see any updates on your booth. Happy New Year!
Christy says
Thank you, Christine! Happy New Year to you, too! I will miss meeting up with these girls once a month, but the show will go on! My booth is looking a bit sad after the Christmas rush, but I’m busy working to get it stocked again. I’ll share soon! 🙂

I am so disappointed that you will not be having this anymore. I understand how time-consuming it is. Will you still be posting your items weekly? I’ve always enjoyed redoing furniture, etc. and you and your friends have given me the inspiration to refurbish some items. I’m currently working on an antique bench that went to a bedroom suit belonged to my sister’s mother-in-law. Have ordered some Ann Sloan chalk paint and wax. Me and my sisters (we are all retired) go to the thrift stores once a month. We don’t have any good thrift stores here in north Alabama but we go to middle Tennessee to the Goodwill stores.
Christy says
No worries, Janice, I will still be here sharing my thrifty makeovers! I’m so thrilled to hear you have been inspired…nothing feels better than making something beautiful again! You are lucky your sisters will go thifting with you, mine don’t care for thrifting at all boo hoo. That’s okay though…I don’t have to fight anyone for the deals ha ha! XO
Rose says
Sad but happy to know you’re still doing magic tricks 🙂
Christy says
Ha ha yes, the show must go on! 😀
Megan @ Adventure & Home says
I’m sad to see the link party go, I have to admit. It was a lot of fun to see what everyone was working on. It’s definitely been very inspirational to see all the fun projects every month since I discovered this blog a few months ago. I’ll definitely be sharing my favorite project for the last one. I still look forward to all your thrifty makeovers though — those are my favorite posts anyways. 😀 Good luck with everything! Can’t wait to see what the next chapter of your blog has in store!
Christy says
Yes we have had a great run for over three years, so I think it was time. SO happy to hear that you enjoy my thrifty makeovers, Megan! See ya Sunday! 🙂
Julie B. says
Hi, Christy… So, is there anything in the ‘pipes’ for replacing this feature?! Hmmmm? >.<
Christy says
We shall see 🙂
Annie (Canada) says
Hi Nancy, Like everyone else I’m sadden to hear this is the last Get Your DIY On 🙁 It is such a great idea maker and inspirational! All the contributors are so talented and I will miss their/your posts but I understand the time and commitment this type of blog requires. I’m thankful for have it for the time that we did 🙂 All the best!
Christy says
I know it is sad indeed. But closing these doors always open up opportunities for more in the future. I will miss collaborating with these ladies though!
Annie (Canada) says
Sorry Christy!! I had just finished reading Nancy’s blog about the same thing and addressed the wrong name. My apologies <3
