Hello there! By now most of y’all know I have a thang for entertaining my Holiday dinner guests with fun place cards. Just the other day, along with 14 other inexpensive Holiday Ideas, I shared this favorite of mine:
Those were from 2013. They were a huge hit AND they cost me hardly anything to make!
Today I’m sharing what I did to my dinner guests last Christmas! (I couldn’t post about it then because I would ruin the surprise for my guests!)
Instead of turning them into Santa’s little helpers, I did this:
He he that’s my lil Sis, Shirley. No I didn’t turn them all into Elves on the shelves, but that would have been funny too. I found holiday characters for each guest that fit with their names.
Here is my son, Jingle Bell Jack:
The photos look fuzzy, but that’s just because the pictures are printed on cardstock and not super high quality.
Here’s my poor Hubby…
He takes a lot of abuse from me.
Once I found fun names for everyone, I looked up each character as a costume. So for my Hubby, I googled images for “Gingerbread Man costume”. I found matches for everyone, then I copy and pasted them to a word document along with everyone’s faces. I was able to size each one appropriately there before printing on cardstock. (*Hint: To find good photos of your guests, try their Facebook pages!)
Here are both my boys…
My family always gets such a kick out of what I do to them!
My parents are so silly!
Here’s my sister’s whole crew…
And finally, yours truly…
I found the ornament place card holders at Michaels on clearance a few years ago, but I saw they had them this year as well.
Wasn’t that fun?? Don’t you think your guests would get a kick out of seeing themselves silly? You could also skip the pictures and just label each place setting with a fun name like, “North Pole Nana”. I’ve done that too.
If you missed 2012, you can see that here:
I’ve got my idea ready for this year, but unfortunately I can’t spill the beans till next year!
Holiday dinners don’t have to be stuffy, let loose and have fun!
XO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!
If you like what you see, there are several ways to follow along!
