Desk with French Graphics

Painting a chair with graphics

Yay! It's Themed Furniture Thursday!  A bunch of us crazy DIY girls get together once a month to share a furniture makeover. The catch is that everyone's makeovers have to follow a theme! This month's theme is "Words/Letters".  I immediately went to my go-to for graphics...the Graphics Fairy, and this is what I came up with: Can you see the graphics? They're on top!   I found this desk at an estate sale a few weeks ago at this cute little cottage that was about 6 houses … [Read more...]

Simple Halloween Soap Dispenser

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a super simple way to turn an ordinary soap dispenser into something boo-rific! I shared this on my friend, Mandy's blog last week and I thought you might enjoy it too. I started with a bottle of Dial Gold hand soap. This was 88¢ at Walmart: I peeled off the labels. They will not likely peel off and leave a nice clean smooth surface. But, I used De-solv-it citrus scented adhesive remover to remove the residual adhesive, which took all of two minutes. (I've … [Read more...]

Nautical Compass Table {Thrifting Can Benefit Animals too!}

Nautical Compass Table Before

Did you know that thrifting can benefit animals as well as your wallet? It's true! There are thrift stores all over that support local animal shelters! A few weeks ago my friend Jeanette from Country Design Style challenged us to make over something from one of those thrift stores to show our support for their efforts. We have adopted shelter animals in the past. Right now we have a cat that we rescued from my ex- MIL's farm where the dogs thought she was a toy. Poor thing! I'm happy to … [Read more...]

Clawfoot Console Table

Hello beautiful friends! I have a quick makeover to share with you today and I want to tell you about my booth! A couple of weeks ago I went yard saling and found several goodies. These goodies to be exact: A few pretty cool pieces came home with me that day. My best deals were that bench for $10, the scale for $3, and the console table for a mere $10. I was in the market for smaller furniture pieces because I finally bit the bullet and leased a booth at a local antique store. (The … [Read more...]
