*This post is brought to you by The Home Depot, but honestly, who wouldn’t jump up and down with glee for an opportunity to work with them??
Awesome Friends! I am SO excited that Cristina from Remodelando La Casa (So talented!!) invited me join her team, along with three other talented bloggers, to host a virtual party where we will each build and share our own version of this fun Father’s Day Football Toss!
Now you know I have very little fear when it comes to power tools. It was NOT always that way, I promise. That is something that has most definitely evolved over time.
Today I’m here to spread the word about one awesome way you too can gain a little confidence when it comes to power tools!
Have you ever heard of the DIY Workshops that The Home Depot offers? They teach everything from installing a toilet to building fun projects. They teach the proper way to do-it-yourself, including the proper tools needed for the job, and how to safely use them.
Not only are we building this fun football toss, and we’ll be back next Monday, June 13th, to share how we each made it our own, but here’s the fun part:
This is one of The Home Depot’s awesome DIY Workshops, and you can register for free at your local Home Depot Store to make one too!
During this workshop, you will:
- Learn to build an outdoor football toss game. Learn to properly measure and accurately cut wood; safely operate both circular and reciprocating saws and a drill; and paint or stain your project like a champ with grid lines straight from the gridiron. The end result will be the skills to craft an outdoor game that will keep your family entertained all Summer long.
This is a perfect opportunity to try out some power tools, y’all!

My Hubby LOVES football. He loves it so much, he’s coached flag and Jr. tackle football for the last five years, so I know he and the boys will have fun with this!
Mine is done and I love how it turned out. The kids have already had a ball testing it for me. (No arm-twisting necessary.)
Not only does The Home Depot have DIY Workshops, they also have DIH (do-it-herself) workshops, and on the first Saturday of every month, they host a free kid’s workshop! My boys have enjoyed them for years!
Here is my youngest at his very first workshop when he was three!
He was so proud! That was a Wizard of Oz birdhouse he (we) built, and those are the witches feet sticking out. 🙂
Awesome workshops, like this this football toss one, are a fantastic way to gain some confidence using tools, with experts right there to guide you!
This would also make a great gift idea for Dad! I hope you’ll consider signing up!
I’ll be back next week sharing my take on this fun Father’s day project, and you’ll get to see my friends’ versions as well!
Stop by this Thursday to see how I updated my sad sad back patio set:
See ya then!

would just love to go to this workshop, but unfortunately we are going on vacation that week. Wouldn’t you just know I have been waiting for one like this. If I could just pin the hubs down as to when we will return, Oh well maybe they will have another one soon.

Oh darn! They have them all the time, so maybe there will be another one that interests you! 🙂
