Hi friends! Today I’m sharing all the mileage I got out of FREE discarded fencing! All of these fun projects were made for the Christmas Market. I’m actually in Disney right now with all my boys, so I thought this would be the perfect time to share these fun projects! And some of them you haven’t even seen yet!
I hijacked some discarded fencing one day while yard saling last Summer. It had been cut into the perfect 4 X 4 stack. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was just so excited to get it into my car!
Here’s what I made from that haul:
How about this fun laundry room sign:
You may also remember these signs I shared in the Fall, made from the pickets off my gate from my old house:
You can see how I added my letters here.
I got a lot of miles out of all that FREE fencing! I also made a few of these vintage inspired toolboxes:
And that’s not all! Check it out…these pretty coastal trays were made from thrift store frames and what?
Old fence pickets!
It’s amazing what a little imagination can do! I hope you enjoyed this fun round-up.
Have you ever found anything fabulous on the side of the road?
XO,

Hey Christy,
Look forward to your blog every day…. this post reminded me to ask you about the Christmas Market. Where is it located???? You said your at Disney and I was wondering
if you and the Market are in the Sunshine State like me!!! I’d love to attend if it’s possible.
Thanks

Your sweet words just made my day! Unfortunately I live in Virginia…I’m only visiting your beautiful Sunshine state! It was a bit chilly at the parks today, but overall the weather has been perfect this week 🙂

Thanks so much, Sherri! Yes, we love free! 🙂

DANG! Well, I happen to have an entire collection of cabinet doors that they made WRONG and had to replace with the correct ones. I’ll pretend my cabinet doors are picket fences and maybe I can come up with cool stuff like you. 😉

Isn’t it amazing what we can create for next to nothing? Thanks again, Amberly! 🙂

All the above are amazing but the tray looks so us, I mean it fits perfectly with the Greek summer 🙂 and I have a special love for every kind of tray
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Christina! The tray does have a very summery feel to it 🙂

Love all your fence board projects Christy, especially that laundry sign – too cute! Gotta love fence boards – I find them far easier to work with than tearing apart a pallet (which I vowed I would never do again at my old age).
Christy K. James says
I have yet to work with a pallet since I’ve had pretty good luck coming across discarded fence boards.I love the texture and character of the weathered wood! Plus I don’t think I want to tear apart a pallet either! 🙂
Kim @ Too Much Time says
Go Girl! I love them all. SO funny, I snagged a discarded fence almost 2 years ago and made a ton of projects using it too. Mine are so different from yours, but I love yours too. Love how we all get creative using “trash.” I will be featuring this post next week:) Hmmm, maybe I should do a post on my old fence projects-thanks for the inspiration:)
Christy K. James says
Yay, Kim…I’m psyched to be featured! There’s nothing better than practically free projects! I’d love to see a post showing what you did with your fence. 🙂 Have a great week! XO

Hi. I love everything you do. I have said HI to you before and you are so kind. You said you would like to see my blog when it is up and running. It is a week old and I am still learning how to do something everyday. But if you would take a look at http://www.fivepaintedlane.com I would feel honored. Michelle
