Do you love aqua as much as I do? Yes? You can be my new BFF. No? That’s okay, I love you anyway:)
I really love aqua. If it’s the right shade, I want it. It could be a doggy bowl in just the right shade and I don’t own a dog…but I’m really liking the look of that bowl. Of course it would not come home with me…but you get my drift.
I have really been itching to paint a piece of furniture in my beloved favorite color and I found just the piece.
Customer Appreciation Day at the Salvation Army Thrift Store woot woot!
This was $59:
I actually really like this as is. But alas, my almost full can of Annie Sloan chalk paint in “Provence” awaits.
It is in really great condition and I could kick myself for only purchasing one instead of the pair. But $59 is still more than I really wanted to pay. (Because you know I’m cheap.)
And here she is:
Love… If I were a lamp, I would definitely have a crush on this table!
I kept the top as is because I just couldn’t bring myself to paint the whole piece. And the top is really pretty:
Love the metal detail on the feet too:
Love the knobs…(I stole these from another table)
I love this little bird I found at Kirklands. (Because it was the perfect shade…)
I also love the picture of my babies in the background:)
I hope you love this too. And I hope you’re not too mad at me for painting a table that was is great condition to begin with:)
XO,
Dayle says
It turned out lovely, although I don’t think I’d have the courage to paint it. The aqua color is so yummy.
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Dayle! I almost didn’t paint it because it was so pretty as is. But aqua won:)
Krista says
Wow! I love this table in aqua. It really is a beautiful piece and I love the glass knobs you added as well. I am addicted to aqua, and to chalk paint for that matter (but I haven’t had a chance to use Annie Sloan’s yet… only made my own). Love it! Thanks for sharing!
Krista
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Krista! I’m curious to make my own chalk paint. I’ll definitely try it when my ASCP runs out:)
Terry says
Okay, I am kicking you for not buying both since this really turned out awesome! I did the same thing with a chair that I post just now on my blog. I only bought one! Sometimes we are not thinking straight!
Christy K. James says
I know! I went back to see if they still had it and it was gone:(

Great color! I like that you left the top in its original condition. It has an interesting pattern on it and I’ve really been loving painted pieces with a stained wood top. You did a great job!
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Jennifer! I love that look, too lately:)

You’re right – too pretty to paint!

Wow, you did a fantastic job! I love this! And I’m so glad you kept the wood top. I love a painted dresser with a wood top. And the pattern on that is way too beautiful.

Mmmm…love that little table! It’s beautiful! I really love aqua, too. I painted my laundry room a light shade. 🙂
Daggonit…I could use a table just that size in my living room. Too bad I can’t go pick up the other one.

We’ve redone our whole kitchen in yellow and the provence Annie Sloan chalk paint. I love it!

It does look so nice painted–and I have loved aqua for a long time too. I looked around your posts and you are so creative! I am now following by email. I found this post at Transformation Thursday by The Shabby Creek Cottage.
Tracy says
Absolutely gorgeous! I love aqua too. Call me! (just kidding)
MaytagNMom says
I adore aqua too!! She is a classy piece, right down the the original top and glass nob- but the color is the true show stopper to this (IMHO)

I love this piece. It looks great in it’s new shade. I am loving that color recently, too. I agree that the top should remain unpainted. It looks fabulous.

Provence is my absolute favorite color! It looks gorgeous on your side table and the knobs are a perfect touch!
Kathy @ Creative Home Expressions says
Wow, that turned out great, Christy! What a great piece! I love how you left the top stained. I haven’t been to our Salvation Army in a few months. I really need to go. They always have a great selection of furniture {as opposed to Goodwill which has more home decor pieces}.
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Kathy! I agree…Good Will doesn’t usually have a great selection of furniture. Salvation Army almost always has something I want to tote home! Good thing my space is limited ha ha:)

Your side table looks splendid in aqua!! Love!

Love the table, before and after. But with that cute bird on top, I prefer the after. Such a pretty shade of blue. Nice job and thanks for sharing.
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Christa! I’m used to painting old beat up pieces, so there is absolutely no guilt involved. This was beautiful as is, so leaving the top stained made it a bit easier to paint. It’s a pretty addtion to our room 🙂
