Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a super simple way to turn an ordinary soap dispenser into something boo-rific! I shared this on my friend, Mandy’s blog last week and I thought you might enjoy it too.
I started with a bottle of Dial Gold hand soap. This was 88¢ at Walmart:
I peeled off the labels. They will not likely peel off and leave a nice clean smooth surface. But, I used De-solv-it citrus scented adhesive remover to remove the residual adhesive, which took all of two minutes. (I’ve heard you can also use Pam cooking spray or lighter fluid, but I have not tried either.)
Next I taped off a rectangle using Frog Tape and added letter stickers to spell out “BOO”.
Then I spray painted the surface with Rustoleum spray paint in gloss black:
I allowed it to dry and then removed the tape and letters.
When the soap runs out, just refill it!
Super simple, right? Perfect if you have a Halloween party coming up! Your guests will love it!
This might be it for my Halloween posts.
I’ll be back Thursday to share a tres magnifique furniture makeover!
Till then…XOXO,

I love it! Pretty hand soaps can be so expensive. I love that you made your own!

Thanks, Lindsay! You’re right, special soaps can be expensive. I already had all of the supplies for this on hand, so almost free. Those are the best kinds of projects! 🙂

That is so cute! And I love the spider, too! Did you make it?
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Julie! The spider is actually a hair clip I used last year with my costume. I bought it, but I’m not sure where? It was the perfect accessory for this shot. 🙂
