Thrift Store Basket Update

Hello to the sweetest readers ever! Thanks so much for all the wonderful feedback on the doll clothes I made for my niece that I shared on Tuesday! I had THE best time making them. Today I'm sharing a quick update of this giant thrift store basket I scored recently: It's hard to see how large it is in that photo, but this thing is a good size and a bargain at $10. I knew it could be perfect for so many uses, but was a bit plain in its current state. A little spray paint to the … [Read more...]

Summer Wildflower Door Basket

Hi sweet Friends! I've put the paint brush down today to share what I did with this hanging basket I found at the thrift store about a year or so ago: It was only 99¢ and I figured I would put it to use eventually. Well today is the day! It now holds wildflowers on my front door: I didn't even paint it; that is so unlike me! It's so summery and fresh and picks up the colors I have in my planters in the front. I also have a patch of daisies just starting to bloom out … [Read more...]

Beachy Basket Makeover

Hi there! Remember when I shared my hutch decorated three ways as part of a decorating challenge with some of my favorite blogging friends? Well today we're back and this month's decorating challenge is baskets! I see baskets used  mostly for storage of course, but there's no reason they can't be functional and decorative right? Basket Upcycle

Hi friends! Welcome to day 15 of my March Madness, 31 Thrifty Makeovers in 31 days series! We are just about at the halfway mark and I still have a bunch of thrifty makeovers coming your way. Today I am sharing how I upcycled this little basket: I found it at the thrift store for $1.25. It was probably donated because one of the handles was coming unraveled. I came up with an easy fix, but first it got a new paint job. (You know I can't ever leave well enough alone.) Adding jute … [Read more...]

Flea Market Swap: Fabric Covered Basket

Hi friends and welcome to day #3 of March Madness, 31 thrifty makeovers in 31 days! I have a special treat today! I am so excited to be participating in a Flea Market Swap AKA Swap it Like it's Hot!  This is a challenge where a bunch of crazy bloggers came together to swap thrift store crap, and then we each have to work our magic on what we got!  How fitting is this for my own March Madness challenge? You could send pretty much anything and my thought was, the cheesier the better! Well my … [Read more...]

Spring Tulip Basket

It's been a while since we did some crafting around here hasn't it? How about a little something Spingy for the front door to tell this snow to GO AWAY? I'm not so sure it will work, but I made something anyway...a Spring Tulip Basket! Since my 31 days of thrifty madness is starting this Sunday, I have thrifty on the brain, so I incorporated a little thriftiness into this project. You can easily guess which part was thrifted, right? You probably said the basket and you would be … [Read more...]
