Jack’s $30 Thrift Store Dresser Makeover

Hello sweet Friends, and welcome to Themed Furniture Thursday! Ya'll know I love to bust out some furniture makeovers around here, but when I get to do it with a bunch of my furniture flippin friends, it's even better! We get together monthly to share a furniture makeover, but the fun part is...there is a theme! This month's theme is "Words". I originally planned to share the Vintage Coffee Table makeover I shared on Tuesday for this month's theme, but today's project was finished just in … [Read more...]

Vintage Coffee Table Makeover

Hello Awesome Friends! Are ya'll up for a makeover today? I'm actually sharing a makeover of a makeover ha ha! This is the second makeover for this rather dated coffee table: I originally found this at a yard sale for $15. One of our themes for Themed Furniture Thursday at that time was "Pottery Barn Knock-offs", and this was a bit similar to the Tivoli coffee table by PB, so it got  a sleek black makeover: I had decided that I would share this for TFT then paint it white and … [Read more...]

How to Make a Tray from a Frame {My Best Selling Tray!}

Hey there, crafty Friends! Do you know what the top two sellers in my booth are? The first is chalkboards, hands down. A close second is trays. Buyers love things that serve a purpose. (No pun intended there ;) ) Today I'm sharing my favorite and best-selling DIY tray. I first made this tray about three years ago for a Get Your DIY On challenge and have continued to make them for my booth ever since. That original post is buried so deep in my archives, that I thought I'd share another similar … [Read more...]

Kids’ Table Makeover

Hello Friends, and welcome to Themed Furniture Thursday!! How about I'll share my project, and you see if you can guess the theme? I shared a peek of this kids' table and these two chairs on Tuesday: I found the table at the Salvation Army the same day I bought this dated dresser I recently shared, and the chairs were part of a set of four I found at a yard sale last Summer. I paid about $27 for all three pieces. The chairs were in rough shape, but a good sanding fixed them right … [Read more...]

Coastal Tray Makeover

Hi Friends! Are you up for a thrifty makeover today? I found this super large oval tray at the thrift store  a few weeks back. This thing is really big! It was $12, but I just had to bring it home: This was gorgeous at one time, but had really started to show its age, so I decided to give it a completely new look: Doesn't even look like the same tray, right? I painted the tray in a mix of Annie Sloan's French Linen and Pure White. Then I created this graphic in Photoshop … [Read more...]

Reclaimed Wood Side Table

Welcome to day #28 in this thrifty makeover series! Can you believe it's day #28?? Where did March go? Today I'm proud to say that I eliminated yet one more thing that has been mocking me from my to-do pyramid. It started with these old decking boards I found in the woods near my house: I used some of them for the seat on this Headboard Bench I shared the other day: Farmhouse Headboard Bench And while they were fresh in my mind (and out from under a pile of junk that was on them … [Read more...]

DIY Bead Board Tray

Happy Easter, Friends! Last week when I shared my Romantic Flatware Box Makeover, I mentioned that one thing besides flatware boxes that I can't pass up is a good frame. I have a huge stack of them. Today is March Madness Thrifty Makeover #27 and up for a makeover today is, you guessed it, a frame! I spotted this pair of frames and knew immediately that they would make perfect trays, and trays always sell quickly in my booth. What was even better is that they were only $1.25 each! Here … [Read more...]

Drawer Shelf

Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back...ha ha were you singing that? Remember Welcome Back Kotter? It's Day # 26 in my March Madness, 31 Thrifty Makeovers in 31 Days Series, and today I'm sharing a project that was free. Aren't those the best kind of projects? I had this drawer leftover... ...from this dresser I shared earlier in this series: I have two actually, but I decided to do so something with one of them and turned it into a unique shelf: Not bad for free … [Read more...]

15 Minute Table Makeover

I have a booth in an antique mall where I sell my upcycled treasures. Some things sell like hotcakes, and some things sell like three day-old stale bread. Today's thrifty makeover is one of those pieces of stale bread. Welcome, Friends, to March Madness Thrifty Makeover #18! It's a piece my Mom painted a few years ago for a craft market, but didn't sell. I stuck it in my booth along with a few other pieces she had left to help clear out her attic. Everything sold quickly except for this … [Read more...]

$5 Yard Sale Dresser Redo

Hi Friends! Welcome to day #8 of my 31 Days of Thrifty Makeovers Series! Today is extra special because it's also Trash to Treasure Tuesday (my favorite!), so my creative thrifty friends will be sharing a makeover of their own as well. :) Let's get to it! Today I am sharing the makeover of a dresser that cost me all of $5 dollars at a yard sale last Summer: Yup. Five whole dollars. That was the price marked on the bottom drawer there. I think this was one of those purchases where you … [Read more...]
