10 DIY Projects Using a Yard or Less of Fabric

Hey Friends! I'm back today with my Décor Enthusiast Girls for this month's Décor Challenge. Each month we pick a theme or a topic to write about that is related to decorating in some way. You can see all my previous Decorating Challenges HERE. Today we were challenged to come up with a project using a yard or less of fabric. Well, I have a bunch of those already! Good thing because I spent the better part of last week on a yard saling adventure shopping to help furnish a Habitat for Humanity … [Read more...]

Outdoor Glider Bench Makeover

Hi lovely friends! I told you the other day that I've been spending several days working outdoors and today I'm sharing a project that was very much overdue. I purchased this outdoor glider bench about six or seven years ago: Isn't it just pitiful? I covered the cushions once before about three years ago, and it was time to do it again! I've included affiliate links so you can find the products I used. Here's my new and improved outdoor glider bench now: Doesn't it look brand … [Read more...]

Fabric Inlaid Mirror

Are you up for a thrifty makeover today? Well I hope so because that's exactly what I'm sharing! I found this very dated mirror for $8 at the thrift store a few weeks back: Immediately when I saw it, I imagined fabric in the panel on top. First I removed the mirror and painted the frame in DIY chalk paint in Cottage White by Behr. Bye bye ugly mirror! I gave it three coats, then sanded the edges a bit. Then I sealed it with Minwax paste wax. This was my first time using … [Read more...]

Updated Side Table with Fabric Drawer

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a great way to give furniture a new look. I found this ho-hum side table at the Salvation Army for $15: What I liked about this table besides the price, were the details in the corners below the drawer. Pieces like this are fantastic because they are like a blank canvas. There are just so many ways you could update this simple table. I chose to paint it (surprise!) and add fabric to the drawer: You know I should own stock in this fabric.  It … [Read more...]

From Old Picture to Pretty Tray

I have another easy picture frame project to share today. Do you have that one thing you look for when you're junkin", yard salin', or thriftin'? For me, it's frames. I surely do not need them. It's just that there are so many things you can do with a simple picture frame. So I always keep my eyes open. I gave this one a new life as a pretty tray:   There are so many uses for a cute lil' tray, right?  Here, I'm offering you sugar and starfish. What??  (Just go with it and think, … [Read more...]
