$5 Thrift Store Tray Makeover

Hello lovely Friends! I've got a cool little makeover to share with ya'll today! On the same trip where I found the large basket I shared a couple of weeks ago, I also picked up this tray: I rarely pass up a good tray and for $5, all this tray needed was a little TLC, so in the cart it went. The bottom looks like a cool metal, but it's actually just paper. I decided instead of trying to remove the paper to get a decent  painting surface, I would just cover it up. Enter these two … [Read more...]

10 Thrifty Reclaimed Wood Projects

Hello, amazing Friends! Today I am sharing some of my favorite thrifty makeovers! The theme for this month's Get Your DIY On challenge is "Wood", and when I think of wood, I automatically think of the stash of old fence pickets I have in my garage.  Nothing makes my heart go pitter patter like seeing a big ole pile of discarded fencing on the curb! That's free money right there! And technically I can call it "reclaimed", right? I shared this scene on my Facebook Page a couple of months … [Read more...]

How to Make a Tray from a Frame {My Best Selling Tray!}

Hey there, crafty Friends! Do you know what the top two sellers in my booth are? The first is chalkboards, hands down. A close second is trays. Buyers love things that serve a purpose. (No pun intended there ;) ) Today I'm sharing my favorite and best-selling DIY tray. I first made this tray about three years ago for a Get Your DIY On challenge and have continued to make them for my booth ever since. That original post is buried so deep in my archives, that I thought I'd share another similar … [Read more...]

Hey ya'll!  If you missed my big announcement on Tuesday, you can read more about it HERE. In a nutshell, I'm out shopping the World's Longest Yard Sale right now in search of great finds to help furnish a Habitat for Humanity home to surprise the new homeowners! I'm probably somewhere in Ohio right now. :) Thanks to GMC for the invite to participate in this amazing adventure!! The show must go on around here though and I've got a pretty cool update to show you today. This month's Get Your DIY … [Read more...]

Reclaimed Wood Bookcase

Hi Friends! Today I'm joining my Power Tool Girl Crew to bring you a simple project I did using power tools! I love these group challenges because they motivate me to get stuff done! This month's theme is "Summer". I wanted to do something with this little bookcase I picked up at the thrift store for $12 a couple of weeks ago: It looked like someone had some sort of electronics on the bottom shelf that needed to be vented, so two big holes had been cut out on the back. When I bought … [Read more...]

Beach-Inspired Bathroom Cabinet

Don't you love a good before and after?? I know I do! Today I'm sharing this little cabinet that I recently found at the thrift store for $8: The painting on this was beautifully done, but definitely in need of an update. One of the doors was warped also, but I knew exactly how to remedy that! I love when things work out! I didn't really do much except paint, add a graphic, and swap out the doors, but the change is pretty cool, don't you think? A big shout out to my fence picket … [Read more...]

White-Washed Reclaimed Wood Tray

Hi there lovely friends! I am still catching up from this past weekend in Atlanta at the Haven Blogging conference.  It was a total blast seeing all my favorite blogging buddies again. I'll be back soon to share some fun pics! Today I am sharing what I did with this yard sale frame, and these old fence pickets I scored from a house that was being renovated: Can you see the price tag on the frame? That's one whole dollar. Score! I saw this frame as a tray right away. I started by … [Read more...]

Fabulous Fence Picket Projects

I'm actually in Disney right now with all my boys, so I thought this would be the perfect time to share these fun projects! And some of them you haven't even seen yet! I hijacked some discarded fencing one day while yard saling last summer. It had been cut into the perfect 4 X 4 stack. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was just so excited to get it … [Read more...]

DIY Vintage-Inspired Toolbox {from Old Fence Pickets!}

Hello lovelies! Today I'm going to show you how easy it is to make a vintage inspired toolbox.  This one's a true trash to treasure project. Remember this dresser makeover with the fabric inlay I shared recently? I found that dresser at a yard sale, but before I found that beauty, I passed a stack of old fencing all cut in perfect 3x3 squares stacked neatly on the curb. I backed right on up and shoved it into my car. Then I found that steal of a dresser and was playing out in my mind how … [Read more...]
