Estate Sale Bookcase Makeover

Hello awesome Friends! Did you miss not having a fresh new makeover from me on Tuesday? I've spoiled you, haven't I? Well hopefully I'll make it up to you today! If you missed it, on Tuesday I shared 10 tools that are must-haves in my workshop, a great resource if you are just getting into the upcycling game! I shared a peek at today's makeover on Tuesday and in my Vintage Night Table post I shared a couple of weeks ago, it's this bookcase I scored at an estate sale for $40: I loved … [Read more...]

Dated Dresser Makeover

Hi awesome friends!! I'm back today with my Trash-to-Treasure Tuesday girls, my favorite! I have a good makeover for you today. I found this dresser at the Salvation Army a few Saturdays ago when all of their furniture was 50% off: I ended up still paying $45 for it, but it was in excellent condition, just a bit dated. I decided to give it a more feminine feel: Much more girly, eh? I used a 50/50 mix of French Linen (Annie Sloan) and Pure White for the stripes. It has … [Read more...]

White-Washed Stool and I Hired an Assistant!

Hi Friends!! I've got a quick little makeover for you today, and some fun news as well. First up is the makeover. I picked up this little stool at the Goodwill a few weeks back: It was in perfect condition, just not my favorite color. I've shown you how I paint something distressed without the original paint color showing through, using petroleum jelly, in this recent post. For this little stool a different method was used so the red wouldn't show through. First it got a couple of … [Read more...]

Coastal Tray Makeover

Hi Friends! Are you up for a thrifty makeover today? I found this super large oval tray at the thrift store  a few weeks back. This thing is really big! It was $12, but I just had to bring it home: This was gorgeous at one time, but had really started to show its age, so I decided to give it a completely new look: Doesn't even look like the same tray, right? I painted the tray in a mix of Annie Sloan's French Linen and Pure White. Then I created this graphic in Photoshop … [Read more...]

Patterned Sofa Table

We made it to day #3 yippee! Ha ha...I'm sharing a sofa table I found at a yard sale in my own neighborhood last Spring for $10.  I bought it from the same lady I bought this $60 hutch from. It was solid and I knew I could do something with it eventually. Well eventually is here and I finally got around to doing something with it! Here it is as you may have seen in the sneak peek I gave you yesterday: I started by sanding the top with the intention of staining it and painting the legs. … [Read more...]

French Linen Chair

Hello sweet Friends! I have a quickie makeover for ya'll today! I mentioned the other day when I shared my antique dressing table that I was working on a chair for it. This is that chair, only it's a bit higher than a chair so I'm calling it a stool...maybe I should just call it a chool ha ha. Here it is before. Meet the chool: It was a sad chool, but for $7.50 at the thrift store,  I dragged its sad little self home. I was going to paint it white to match the dressing table, but … [Read more...]

French Linen Shelf

Hello sweet Friends! I've got a quick little makeover for you today! I found this shelf at the thrift store a couple of weeks ago hiding in the toy section: Luckily I can spot a potential makeover a mile away! :) Blue tags were half off that day, so this cost me less than $2, and I liked the shape of it. I did check first to see if the Winnie the Pooh paper would come off easily and it was adhesive, so luckily it peeled right off... and became this: Ooh la la. Much … [Read more...]

Harlequin Painted Side Table

Hi my sweet friends! I have been knee-deep in floor demolition at my house this weekend, but I am thrilled to say that I actually started laying my hardwood floors today...can I get a WOO HOO?! I've been sharing some of my progress on Instagram, so you can hop on over and see what I'm talking about if you like! I painted a couple of pieces for my booth last week before demo began so today I'm sharing one of them with you. This is one of three tables I picked up at the Salvation Army at the … [Read more...]

French Linen and White Dressing Table

Hi Friends! Now that my ceiling is finally finished (whew!), I'm enjoying getting back to redoing a few pieces. Today I'm sharing a sweet dressing table that I picked up at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago. Have a look: Ooh nice. No it really wasn't was it? I ended up paying $25 for it, and figured surely I could do something with it. A little French Linen chalk paint by Annie Sloan makes everything better... See how it makes everything better? Here is the desk in … [Read more...]

French Linen Server (TV Stand)

Guess what? It's day #11 of March Madness! Can you believe how fast March is flying by? I'm just glad we're finally seeing a little Spring weather around here! How about a furniture makeover today? At the same estate sale where I found this gorgeous dressing table for $40, I also picked up this unique piece for $35: It was in the dining room  and the bottom drawer has dividers for flatware, and I believe it had wheels at one time. It's a server of sorts. I gave it a makeover in … [Read more...]
