Harlequin Painted Side Table

Hi my sweet friends! I have been knee-deep in floor demolition at my house this weekend, but I am thrilled to say that I actually started laying my hardwood floors today...can I get a WOO HOO?! I've been sharing some of my progress on Instagram, so you can hop on over and see what I'm talking about if you like! I painted a couple of pieces for my booth last week before demo began so today I'm sharing one of them with you. This is one of three tables I picked up at the Salvation Army at the … [Read more...]

Planter Box from a Thrift Store Throw-Away

Fourteen thrifty makeovers delivered. Whew! Some have been small and some not so small, but they are fun to see either way, right? Today's makeover is a small one, but worth seeing I think! I found this homely little wooden apple box for $1.25 at the thrift store: Sadly, this probably would have matched my décor at one time. Oh I went through a country décor phase all right. In my defense, my décor was based mostly on what my Mom was giving away at the time! Getting rid of the … [Read more...]

Harlequin Bench with Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan

Can I tell you how excited I was to receive these in the mail? I was provided these products, but all of the opinions are my own.  I am required to tell you that, but of course it's not hard to rave about Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan.  I haven't met a color in her collection that I haven't liked yet. This is the little guy getting the big makeover today. I found him at a church flea market for $15. I love those! And here is his beauty shot: I chose the … [Read more...]

George’s Bench gets a Makeover

Hi friends! I'm so glad you stopped by today. I'm sharing how I freshened up George's bench.  George was the previous owner of this sad, but super functional bench: I found it at his estate sale in the corner of the garage covered in cobwebs.  I know his name because he put it on the bottom: I love that.  I was drawn to this little bench because clearly it was hand-built and I loved all the imperfections. I decided to paint it with a fun harlequin pattern... I used … [Read more...]

Harlequin Side Table

On Thursday I shared a play-by-play in real-time on my Facebook page as I was making over this sweet side table. It was fun having everyone weigh in during the process. If you missed it, I found this table at my favorite thrift store. I should take a picture of this place. It is so packed and the aisles are so narrow, you can hardly pass someone without frisking them. It's my favorite because I always find something there, and the merchandise is priced to sell. This is the little beauty … [Read more...]

Hello friends!  I have another simple painted project for you today.  Don't you just love a good before and after?  How about we do a good after and before?  ...As in this awfully cute chest: Here it is before: Many of you may know what kind of chest this is...   Were you right? It's a flatware chest!! I know you all want to go dump out your granny's silver so you can have one of your very own! Although I do generally love a touch of purple velvet now and … [Read more...]
