Hey there, amazing Friends! I have some super exciting news to share with ya'll today!!! But first, as promised on Thursday, I'm sharing the makeover of this mirror I picked up for a mere $6 at the thrift store: Regretfully, there were two and I only picked up one of them. What was I thinking?? At the time, I wasn't sure how it would look painted, but I should have known... Paint has magical powers. Am I right? I love how she turned out. So chic and elegant! Oval Rosette Mirror

Hello sweet Friends and welcome to day #5 of this fun thrifty series!  Isn't it fun to see what becomes of these thrift store and yard sale finds? Today I'm sharing how I turned this plain thrift store mirror into a one-of-a-kind piece. Here is what I started with: It was marked $8.25 but it was half off. Yesterday I asked if you thought I kept it as a mirror. Let's see if you guessed right....I did! There wasn't really anything special about this mirror as it was, but giving it … [Read more...]

Antique Mirror Repurposed

Welcome lovely Friends to day #4 of my March Madness, 31 Thrifty Makeovers in 31 Days series! I shared a peek of this antique mirror I found at the thrift store in yesterday's post: These old mirrors are SUPER heavy and the back was falling out, but for $9.98 I snapped it up. After I painted the frame I went to clean up the mirror to put it back in, and it was so scratched. I know it looks great in the photo above, but that was taken in November back before I turned the mirror loose in … [Read more...]

Gorgeous Mirror Makeover & Entry Table Vignette {a Décor Challenge}

Hello all my décor enthusiast friends! If you are new around here, once a month I get together with a few blogging buddies to talk about décor. In the past we've shared our gallery walls, how we like to decorate using trays, tips for styling bookcases, and how we love to use baskets in our decor, just to name a few. We started this challenge last January by picking a space, and for three months we decorated it three different ways by shopping our homes. I chose my china hutch. We decided to … [Read more...]

Cottage-Inspired Mirror with Shelf from Thrifty Finds

Hello Friends! Today I'm sharing a great upcycle from two items I found recently. First I found this simple shelf at a thrift store: I loved the chunkiness of it and figured for $6 I'd be able to do something with it. Then not long after that, I found this mirror: For ONE WHOLE DOLLAR at a yard sale. Yes, I'll have that, thank you! When I was playing around in my workshop/studio...okay the garage...I spotted these two getting cozy in a corner and had an idea to marry the … [Read more...]

Fabric Inlaid Mirror

Are you up for a thrifty makeover today? Well I hope so because that's exactly what I'm sharing! I found this very dated mirror for $8 at the thrift store a few weeks back: Immediately when I saw it, I imagined fabric in the panel on top. First I removed the mirror and painted the frame in DIY chalk paint in Cottage White by Behr. Bye bye ugly mirror! I gave it three coats, then sanded the edges a bit. Then I sealed it with Minwax paste wax. This was my first time using … [Read more...]

Rosette-Framed Mirror

Hi friends! Today I have a sweet makeover for you! Last weekend I found this mirror at a thrift store: Nothing fancy, but it was in good shape and for $15 I figured at the very least I could paint it. But then just as I was dozing off I had an idea! I really need to put a post it pad under my pillow because that always happens. Yesterday I gave a little hint... I did paint it, but I also added drop cloth rosettes to it! How cute is that? I made the same … [Read more...]
