$5 Thrift Store Tray Makeover

Hello lovely Friends! I've got a cool little makeover to share with ya'll today! On the same trip where I found the large basket I shared a couple of weeks ago, I also picked up this tray: I rarely pass up a good tray and for $5, all this tray needed was a little TLC, so in the cart it went. The bottom looks like a cool metal, but it's actually just paper. I decided instead of trying to remove the paper to get a decent  painting surface, I would just cover it up. Enter these two … [Read more...]

10 Thrifty Reclaimed Wood Projects

Hello, amazing Friends! Today I am sharing some of my favorite thrifty makeovers! The theme for this month's Get Your DIY On challenge is "Wood", and when I think of wood, I automatically think of the stash of old fence pickets I have in my garage.  Nothing makes my heart go pitter patter like seeing a big ole pile of discarded fencing on the curb! That's free money right there! And technically I can call it "reclaimed", right? I shared this scene on my Facebook Page a couple of months … [Read more...]

How to Make a Tray from a Frame {My Best Selling Tray!}

Hey there, crafty Friends! Do you know what the top two sellers in my booth are? The first is chalkboards, hands down. A close second is trays. Buyers love things that serve a purpose. (No pun intended there ;) ) Today I'm sharing my favorite and best-selling DIY tray. I first made this tray about three years ago for a Get Your DIY On challenge and have continued to make them for my booth ever since. That original post is buried so deep in my archives, that I thought I'd share another similar … [Read more...]

Reclaimed Wood Bookcase

Hi Friends! Today I'm joining my Power Tool Girl Crew to bring you a simple project I did using power tools! I love these group challenges because they motivate me to get stuff done! This month's theme is "Summer". I wanted to do something with this little bookcase I picked up at the thrift store for $12 a couple of weeks ago: It looked like someone had some sort of electronics on the bottom shelf that needed to be vented, so two big holes had been cut out on the back. When I bought … [Read more...]

Reclaimed Wood Side Table

Welcome to day #28 in this thrifty makeover series! Can you believe it's day #28?? Where did March go? Today I'm proud to say that I eliminated yet one more thing that has been mocking me from my to-do pyramid. It started with these old decking boards I found in the woods near my house: I used some of them for the seat on this Headboard Bench I shared the other day: Farmhouse Headboard Bench And while they were fresh in my mind (and out from under a pile of junk that was on them … [Read more...]

Hello, awesome Friends! I'm back today with a fun little project for ya. Each month we share simple DIY projects that involve power tools, but that anyone can tackle! I look back at some of my earlier projects where I show my hubs cutting things for me and chuckle. I … [Read more...]

Window Shelf

Hi Sweet Friends! Ready for a trash to treasure transformation?  Good! Because it's Trash to Treasure Tuesday! Today I'm sharing what I did with this $5 yard sale window: I picked up several windows this Summer and had yet to do anything with them. For today's transformation, I decided to create something simple with one of them. I sifted through my curbside-found wood stash and found the perfect pairing for one of the windows to create this: This window was not painted, so … [Read more...]
