Oval Vanity Stool Makeover

Hey there sweet Friends! I'm back today with another piece from that estate sale where I found this bookcase and these vintage night tables. But first, can I share something fun that happened at my house this weekend? My Mom is turning 70 this week, so my Dad and my siblings and I decided to surprise her with a surprise party! My younger sister lives here with her hubby and three boys, but my younger brother lives in South Carolina and my older sister lives in Wisconsin, but they all came for … [Read more...]

Jack’s Plant Stand Update

Hey there sweet Friends! Today I'm sharing another one of Jack's makeovers. I picked this oak plant stand up for him at the thrift store for $10 a few weeks ago: I figured he could paint this up pretty quick and simple and make some easy money on it, but he wanted to do a two toned look and add a stencil. He chose the colors and the stencil. (You know, Mom, that symbol you use with the three things on it.) Here it is: I've included a few affiliate links so you can find the … [Read more...]

White-Washed Stool and I Hired an Assistant!

Hi Friends!! I've got a quick little makeover for you today, and some fun news as well. First up is the makeover. I picked up this little stool at the Goodwill a few weeks back: It was in perfect condition, just not my favorite color. I've shown you how I paint something distressed without the original paint color showing through, using petroleum jelly, in this recent post. For this little stool a different method was used so the red wouldn't show through. First it got a couple of … [Read more...]

Numbered Farmhouse Stool

I found a new thrift store about 20 minutes from my house last week and it was like Christmas morning! It benefits Disabled American Vets like one of my favorite thrift stores, and it was amazing! I left with a full cart, ya'll. One of the items I found was this sweet $6 farmhouse stool and it is thrifty makeover #25! (Only six more left yikes!) Everyone can use a little step stool, right? I decided to stick with gray and white like my Farmhouse Headboard Bench I shared … [Read more...]

Drop Cloth Rosette Stool {Best of the Archives}

My Trash to Treasure Tuesday pals and I are at it again! In case you're just joining us, we thought instead of bringing you only ONE new makeover this month as part of that series, why not dig through our archives, find our favorites, and share one EVERY Tuesday this month? So this is week #3. If you missed my first two favorites I shared so far, they were my Farmhouse Hutch and a beautiful set of French Provincial chairs that I made over. Today's reshare was created as part of a … [Read more...]

French Linen Chair

Hello sweet Friends! I have a quickie makeover for ya'll today! I mentioned the other day when I shared my antique dressing table that I was working on a chair for it. This is that chair, only it's a bit higher than a chair so I'm calling it a stool...maybe I should just call it a chool ha ha. Here it is before. Meet the chool: It was a sad chool, but for $7.50 at the thrift store,  I dragged its sad little self home. I was going to paint it white to match the dressing table, but … [Read more...]

Stool Revived

Hey there, awesome friends! Welcome to day#6 of March Madness! Today I'm sharing a simple stool makeover.  Please tell me I'm not the only one who chuckles at the word, "stool"? "Stool Makeover" is even funnier to me. Any who...I found this crusty and dusty stool (ha ha) in the same shed I dug my Farmhouse Hutch out of at an estate sale. Here is the before, crust and all: Only $2 and free crust? Yes I'll take it! After a little de-crusting and a some sanding and some painting and … [Read more...]

Antique Mini-Bench Makeover

Hi friends! I've got a quick makeover to share with you today.  I found this little antique bench at a yard sale for $5: Actually it was the same yard sale where I found my sewing  chair.  The owner had attempted to make it over using this burlap sack, which could have turned out okay if she had finished it right. I decided to go another direction with it though...   I had this small scrap of fabric left over from my fabric inlay dresser and it was just enough to … [Read more...]

George’s Bench gets a Makeover

Hi friends! I'm so glad you stopped by today. I'm sharing how I freshened up George's bench.  George was the previous owner of this sad, but super functional bench: I found it at his estate sale in the corner of the garage covered in cobwebs.  I know his name because he put it on the bottom: I love that.  I was drawn to this little bench because clearly it was hand-built and I loved all the imperfections. I decided to paint it with a fun harlequin pattern... I used … [Read more...]

Mini Drop Cloth Rosette Stool Makeover {a $5 Yard Sale Find}

I have a fun makeover for you today! Seems like it's been a while since I shared a makeover, probably because I've been knee-deep in my kitchen redo for what seems like forever! I found this little stool at a yard sale for $5 a couple of weeks ago: I liked the chair height of it and of course, the price tag.  It was a bit beat up though, and not in a "Its got tons of character" sort of way... So I immediately came up with the perfect plan in my mind... You know how sometimes … [Read more...]
