Tray Repurposed & How to Cut Your own Designs with your Silhouette Cameo

Hello amazing Friends! I have a fun makeover and a how-to to share today. Ya'll know I love my Silhouette Cameo for adding fun graphics to my pieces, and I've gotten several questions about how I use my Silhouette to cut my own designs, as well as how I cut larger designs with my Silhouette. Today I'm sharing a tray that I've had hanging around my garage since the Summer before last, that I repurposed and added my own design to. Then I'll share how I did it with my Silhouette. I am including … [Read more...]

French Love Letter Tray

Hello awesome Friends! I have a sweet makeover for ya'll today! I must have passed by this tray at the Antique Mall where I have my booth at least a dozen times: I just loved the details of the frame. I finally decided to just buy it already. I thought maybe I could put some pretty fabric under the glass, only when I removed the outermost felt layer on the back, I discovered mold between the layers... Gross! Then I discovered the glass was not clear, but covered in foil-like … [Read more...]

$5 Thrift Store Tray Makeover

Hello lovely Friends! I've got a cool little makeover to share with ya'll today! On the same trip where I found the large basket I shared a couple of weeks ago, I also picked up this tray: I rarely pass up a good tray and for $5, all this tray needed was a little TLC, so in the cart it went. The bottom looks like a cool metal, but it's actually just paper. I decided instead of trying to remove the paper to get a decent  painting surface, I would just cover it up. Enter these two … [Read more...]

Swap it Like it’s Hot {Halloween Edition}

Hello lovely Friends! It's that time of year again...time to Swap it Like it's Hot!! I absolutely love this game. If this is new to you, basically a bunch of awesome bloggers buy thrift store treasures (or not so much) to send to each other to be reinvented.  For our last round in the Spring, I was given these goodies from my friend, Shanna from Restoration Redoux: And I turned the wood items into this pretty addition to my garden: See more of that project HERE. I am including … [Read more...]

How to Make a Tray from a Frame {My Best Selling Tray!}

Hey there, crafty Friends! Do you know what the top two sellers in my booth are? The first is chalkboards, hands down. A close second is trays. Buyers love things that serve a purpose. (No pun intended there ;) ) Today I'm sharing my favorite and best-selling DIY tray. I first made this tray about three years ago for a Get Your DIY On challenge and have continued to make them for my booth ever since. That original post is buried so deep in my archives, that I thought I'd share another similar … [Read more...]

Coastal Tray Makeover

Hi Friends! Are you up for a thrifty makeover today? I found this super large oval tray at the thrift store  a few weeks back. This thing is really big! It was $12, but I just had to bring it home: This was gorgeous at one time, but had really started to show its age, so I decided to give it a completely new look: Doesn't even look like the same tray, right? I painted the tray in a mix of Annie Sloan's French Linen and Pure White. Then I created this graphic in Photoshop … [Read more...]

DIY Bead Board Tray

Happy Easter, Friends! Last week when I shared my Romantic Flatware Box Makeover, I mentioned that one thing besides flatware boxes that I can't pass up is a good frame. I have a huge stack of them. Today is March Madness Thrifty Makeover #27 and up for a makeover today is, you guessed it, a frame! I spotted this pair of frames and knew immediately that they would make perfect trays, and trays always sell quickly in my booth. What was even better is that they were only $1.25 each! Here … [Read more...]

Numbered Tray

Hi sweet Friends! I'm back today as promised sharing what I did with this tray I found for $5 at the thrift store: I can't even tell you how long this has been hanging around my garage! When I did my super cleaning a few weeks ago, I found it again. Our Get Your DIY On theme this month is Numbered and Lettered projects so I knew this would be a great candidate for this challenge: I decide to fill the bottom with random numbers! I love how it turned out! I created … [Read more...]
