Hello awesome Friends!! I missed you over the Holiday break! Did you miss me too? I am SO excited to get started on another amazing year with this beloved blog of mine, and of coarse that is all thanks to YOU! You make this possible for me, so thank YOU! 🙂
I am wrapping up 2016 with my top 10 most viewed posts that I shared this year. A few of these are my favorites as well.
Funny that some of my most popular content this year started out like this:
#10
Just making the top 10 this year is this dated dresser that started out like this:
I resuscitated it with a little paint to make it look like this:
What a difference!
#9
In the #9 slot is this sign tutorial I shared for one of our Décor Challenges; the easiest sign to make ever:
Super Easy Sign Anyone can Make
If you’ve been wanting to add a fun sign to your home, this is a great one to try!
#8
At #8 is another décor post, Five Ways to add Farmhouse Charm to the Kitchen:
I don’t usually share a ton of decorating posts, so that one was a fun one for me!
#7
The next most viewed post on my list, coming in at #7, is this thrift store book case that started out like this:
I almost didn’t buy it but for only $12, I decided to take a chance on it. It turned out to be one of my favorite makeovers:
#6
Taking the #6 spot in my top 10 was this infamous picture from the 70’s that I found for $5 at the thrift store:
So many friends of mine had one of these in their homes growing up, and evidently many of you did too…this went nuts on Facebook and brought a ton of traffic my way.
Here’s what I did with it:
#5
Next up in my countdown is my simple tutorial on how I turn frames into trays:
How to Make a Tray from a Frame
These fly out of my booth every time!
#4
At #4 is this suitcase I scored for free off the curb while taking my Mom home one day:
I actually found a pair of them, but have yet to make the other one over. You may remember how I transformed this one for one of my Trash to Treasure Tuesday posts:
The inside got a redo too:
In that post I shared how to make a stencil not look like a stencil, and how I lined the inside with fabric.
#3
This next project got featured in a round-up of spray paint projects shared on a bunch of blogs, which brought a lot of traffic to it, but I loved how spray paint rocked this little makeover too:
#2
Coming in at #2 is this super easy project I made from thrift store dishes and candlesticks. It was also featured by Better Homes and Gardens and got me my first magazine feature:
#1
And my #1 most viewed post that I shared in 2016 is…drumroll please…
This very dated hutch:
That I loved back to life:
Ahhh paint is magical, isn’t it? This piece did not last long and sold to the same person that bought the reclaimed wood bookcase that came in at #7. 🙂
I thought these posts were a perfect sampling of what I share around here! You just never know what will resonate with readers, but I’m glad to see some of my favorites made the top 10!Did any of your favorites make it?
And do you want to know what my most viewed post of all from all my years of blogging was this year?
My How to Paint Furniture using Chalk Paint tutorial!
How to Paint Furniture using Chalk Paint
If you’ve wanted to try your hand at reviving a piece of furniture with paint, this is a great tutorial. I take you through the whole process step-by-step!
……………………………………………………….
I am SO looking forward to another year of thrifty goodness and sharing it all with you!
I’ll be back on Tuesday with my first makeover of 2017, this sad and weathered drum table I picked up for $20 a couple of weeks ago:
It’s not sad anymore!
