Hello awesome friends! While I’m of town this week, I thought it would be fun to share some of my Halloween projects from over the years!
My love for all things Halloween began after I met my Hubby. My oldest son was five at the time. We all went to Target after dinner one Saturday night, and my Hubby suggested we buy a few things to decorate my house for Halloween. He thought Jack would really get a kick out of it. They loaded up an entire cart and the rest is history!
We have continued to add to our display over the years. Every year we make a special shopping trip and we each get to pick one new item! It really is a lot of fun to decorate, and our neighbors have come to enjoy seeing it come together each year as well.
One of the first Halloween projects I shared way back in 2013 I believe was this weird-faced pumpkin that I gave a spooky new look:
That was actually pretty easy and fun to do! See more of this project HERE.
The following year, I teamed up with some girls to share knock-off projects. It was in the Fall, so I had come across a mantel that Pottery Barn had shared on their site and decided I would try to duplicate it:
I had a lot of fun finding thrifty alternatives to use in my own version, including dollar store frames and thrift store desert dishes stacked to look like the glass candle holders they had used.
Pottery Barn actually linked to the spooky headless printables at that time, but no longer have them on their site. If you search Pottery Barn Headless Halloween Printables and click on images, a few will come up in the search.
Visit this post to see how it all came together HERE.
Also in 2014, I turned a cabinet door that my father-in-law saved for me into this not-so-spooky Halloween wreath:
See more of this project HERE.
How about a really easy idea for Halloween-inspired hand soap? This one used some sticky craft letters, spray paint, and a bottle of Dial soap:
See more details HERE.
Need a new set of hand towels for Halloween? These were another easy DIY project I shared that year:
See how I made them HERE.
In 2015, I created another knock-off project. This time it was a Better Homes and Gardens Halloween sign:
I used a ready-made mailbox post from Home Depot to create this! See more HERE.
We really loved decorating that courtyard space at our old house for Halloween!
Take the full outdoor Halloween tour at our old house HERE.
This next project was also pretty simple and required only the most basic of sewing skills:
These were cute Halloween hand towels that I turned into pillows! See how HERE.
This large Beware sign is a fun one too…
See how I made this one with no fancy cutting machines HERE.
Here I shared our outdoor display at night the first year we were at our new house:
Take the full tour HERE.
This sign is one of my favorites! I shared this one last Fall:
See how I made it and how it looks all lit up at night HERE.
Last year I brought Halloween into our dining room:
You can see the whole room HERE.
And just recently, I shared how I turned a $2 thrift store flatware box into a spooky Halloween prop:
You can visit this fun DIY project HERE.
We did get our house all decorated this past weekend and we added something new! Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to photograph it and share it before Halloween.
Even if you don’t go all out for Halloween, I hope you enjoyed looking back with me!
I’ll be back on Tuesday sharing what I did with this shelf:
See ya then!!
XOXO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!

Thanks for taking us back right before Halloween, there is still time to do some of these spooky/fun things. I have never really decorated much for Halloween, but I might have to turn up the fright meter a bit. Thanks for sharing!!

You’re welcome, Mary! I feel like Halloween is an anything goes holiday so no pressure you know? It’s all about fun! XOXO

I adore all the ideas Christy. I know I can find something to decorate which won’t take up much storage room after the season is over. 😉
Have a great time with Nancy (and others) at the conference.

All of these are great ideas. I think I will search through my Halloween goodies and see what I can find to makeover my current fall wreath into something new and different. Who knows what else I’ll come up with? Thanks for the inspiration!!

Fun taking a trip down memory lane. I remember most of these and I think if memory serves correctly, it might have been the Halloween mantel that introduced me to your blog. Pinned 🙂
Christy says
Glad you enjoyed it, Marie! That mantel was so long ago, but it doesn’t seem like it! So glad to call you a friend! XOXo

Hi Christy. I checked your site today I was hoping you had done your Halloween video tour of your decorations. I am a Halloween lover myself and have been since I was a child in the 60’s and 70’s and my PawPaw carved pumpkins with us. We have a pumpkin carving party every year and my house is pretty scary inside and out starting on October 1st each year. Fortunately, I have a big house, a spare room is actually a Halloween room all year long because my decorations require alot of storage space, so I just let them have their own room. Looking forward to your tour this year. I know it will be awesome! Sisters in doing spooky right!!! Tamra
