Hello amazing friends and welcome back! It’s time for round two of your favorites from the past year! Today, I’m sharing 13 simple thrifty makeovers that are all non-furniture pieces!
If you missed my furniture favorites, I shared those on Tuesday HERE!
Let’s get to it!
The links to the original posts are at the bottom of each makeover if you’d like to see more!
Enjoy!
13 Simple Thrifty Makeovers

Starting our countdown at number 13 is this Longaberger basket my mom asked me to paint for her:
It had just been hanging out in her attic and she really wanted to be able to enjoy it again.
It got a super simple update with Silk Mineral Paint in Endless Shore and a mini transfer:

The next makeover on the list is this set of inexpensive mirrors that I found for $12 for the pair at the thrift store:
I guess I did a lot of mirror makeovers this year because there are several on our list!
I removed the mirrors here and replaced them with decorative sheet metal I found on Amazon HERE:
One sheet was large enough to do both of them and it was super simple to do!

In the number 11 spot is this silver tray I’ve had in my stash for years!
I originally paid $10 for it. In this post, I shared the best way to prep silver for paint!
I chose this pretty Silk color in Conch:
I also used a little gold Gilding Wax to highlight these gorgeous details:

At number 10 is this chest I found for $9.98 at the thrift store:
I ended up using a transfer and one of Dixie Belle’s new decoupage papers (Peony Pattern) to give this chest a sweet new look!
The insides got some love too, of course!

Next up is this galvanized metal tote I picked up for $2.25 at the thrift store :
It didn’t look like much when I found it, but it got a super cute makeover!

Coming in at number eight is this set of four thrifty baskets I shared in one post:
They each got a unique new look with a little paint and the addition of a few embellishments!
This pretty blue striped one was the favorite of the bunch and was the first one to sell!

Number seven in our simple thrift store makeover countdown is this dated picture my sister saved for me from her inlaw’s estate sale:
The cardboard picture in the center was yellowed and warped but the frame was gorgeous and just right as the base for my Fall wreath!
Yes? I was so excited with how this one came together, and it was SO easy!!
See it here in this short video if you like:

At number six in the countdown is this $7 thrift store mirror makeover:
It was lovingly named the mustache mirror, but I think I was able to banish Mr. Mustachio!
The decorative resin pieces I made along with this gorgeous Antebellum paint color worked wonders!
These hooks I borrowed from a $2 yard sale find added more function…

Another mirror made the list next, this ho-hum one I picked up for $5:
This kind of mirror is a dime a dozen, but I knew that wide frame would be prefect for a transfer, and I found just the one for it… this gorgeous Magnolia transfer:
I used Silk in Oyster as a base for this one…

Such a simple redo with a big impact!

In the number four spot is this set of lamps I paid $10 for at a barn sale:
I loved this Blue Sketched Flowers Decoupage paper so much on another project in our countdown (coming up), that I decided to use it again here:
What a unique touch it gave these lamps!

In the number three spot is this shelf I picked up for a steal at only $6 at the thrift store:
I rarely pass up a shelf at the thrift store since they are so functional!
This one turned out prettier than I ever imagined it could be when I found it!
It really is unrecognizable now.
This transfer fit perfectly!

The final two pieces in our countdown are both mirrors! I told y’all I did lots of them this year. They are great sellers for me and all of the mirrors included have sold.
First up is this mirror I picked up ages ago for $6:
It was the first piece I had done using this gorgeous Blue Sketched Flowers Decoupage paper:
I love what the decoupage paper added to this piece!

And finally, your favorite non-furniture makeover of the year started as this mirror that I have been hanging onto since our last house:
We moved over four years ago, so this makeover was WAY overdue!
It came with a dresser that we found for Jack to make over, but we never used the mirror. I almost donated it back, but it had such a nice beveled edge and the frame was super sturdy.
This lovely Blossom Flight transfer over Silk Oyster turned it into a one-of-a-kind beauty!
I used this makeover to show how to properly paint a mirror.
Simply embellishing two opposing corners with the transfer was all it needed!
This mirror was the inspiration for the smaller magnolia one earlier in the countdown.

And of course, I have an honorable mention!
One of my personal favorites was this $3 thrift store basket:
I got not one, not two, but THREE projects out of this ONE basket. I think I loved this one so much because I had the crazy idea to cut the basket in half and it actually worked!!
My plan was to make this basket wreath for our front door which would need a flat back:
For the other half, I added glass jars and filled them with hydrangeas from our garden:
Here’s a peek at the back:
The third piece I was able to create from this one thrift store find was this cute mermaid piece that I made from the lid:
I thought this trio deserved a spot too!
