Hello amazing friends and welcome back!! I’m so glad you’re here! On Thursday, I shared the 38th and final makeover from my biggest thrifty haul EVER! I was able to get so many things out of my storage room and redone! That’s now my Dixie Belle stock room woot woot!
Because this huge haul took nearly six months to complete, I feel like it deserves a look back to see all that was accomplished here!
I’m going to start with the most recent makeover and count down to the first project I completed!
Enjoy this walk down memory lane! I’ve included the link to each piece at the bottom of the after photo if you want to see more!

At number 38 is my most recently finished piece, this arched metal wall decor:
This piece already had a lot of detail to it, so all it needed was a simple paint job!

Coming in at number 37 is this ho-hum dime-a-dozen mirror I picked up for $4 at the thrift store:
It’s a one-of-a-kind now, thanks to Vintage Duck Egg Blue, a pretty Lace transfer, and white wax!

Up next is very petite coffee table I picked up many years ago from FB marketplace for $15:
I added a transfer to the top and gave it a similar glazed look that the original had using gray wax:

This next makeover is one of my absolute favorite makeovers of the bunch, this mirror I picked up for $6 at the thrift store:
It got a sophisticated new look using the Blue Sketched Flowers decoupage paper:

Thrifty Makeover number 30 started as this simple magazine rack:
It doesn’t have to hold magazines though! My favorite stripes and a DIY applique brought new life to this old charmer:

At number 29 is this silver tray I picked up ages ago for $10:
I tried a pretty new Silk Color, Conch, on this one and added a little pop of bling with some gold gilding wax. I also shared the best way to paint a silver tray:

Number 28 on the list was this sad child’s chair that I’d been hanging onto for forever:

At number 21 is another favorite! This mirror was left over from a dresser Jack and I made over several years ago, and I actually almost donated it back to the thrift store a couple of times!
Silk in Oyster and a gorgeous Blossom Flight transfer really transformed this one:

At number 20 is this odd pair of thrift store lamps that I shared both makeovers for in one post:
It turns out that I had a match for the smaller of the two in my lamp stash, and I also had a set of matching shades that were the perfect size!
The lamps were transformed with paint, and I just added a little trim detail to the shades…
The other lamp got some paint and a shade that I covered in fabric:

Next up are these doors that my dad had left from his cabinet building days:
I was happy to take them off his hands!
They each got their own makeovers!

This desk was a great deal at only $20:
However, it did lack character.
I brought it to life with a white washed finish on the top and fun stripes on the drawer!
The inside of the drawer got a fun pop of blue!

That brings us to lucky number seven! This piece sat in my storage room for forever holding a lamp until I finally released it of its lamp holding duties:
A fun pop of color with this beautiful Kudzu green really brought it to life!

At number six is this $10 yard sale bed I’d had hanging around for ages:
I usually turn these twin beds into benches, but this one became two separate functional pieces:

At number five is another favorite of mine, this dated secretary I passed on the first time I saw it at the thrift store, but the next time I visited, it was marked down to $35. It needed a lot of work:
I used another brand of decoupage paper on this pretty piece to turn it into a beautiful new piece!

The insides on this one might be my favorite!

Up next is this hotel-esque headboard I found at the thrift store many many years ago:
I bought three of them because they were so cheap. This is the third and final one that I turned into a sign:

This next one was super fun to work on!
It started as this dated wall cabinet that came out of my sister’s bathroom:
I flipped it upside down, added feet, and turned it into a great storage piece for any small space!
The insides got a beautiful vibrant blue color!

Woohoo number two! I tackled this one early on because it took up so much space. I had held onto this one for ages also!
Caviar and a sweet stencil on the seat and this one was done!
Windsor Rocker Makeover

And the very first project I tackled from this haul consisted of three pieces, these two chairs:
And this table:
I had four of the chairs to begin with and had already made two of them over to go with this drop leaf table last year.
The table sold, so I did the other two chairs I had at home to match, and they all came together with this table to make this absolutely charming set:

We’re not done yet!
I also completed two more furniture pieces that weren’t included in this haul. We’ll call them honorable mentions!
The first is this drum table that had been sitting in my booth for over a year:
I brought it home and gave it a much-needed makeover using the leftovers of a transfer:

Much better!
And the other is this gorgeous dresser I scored for only $25!
It needed ALL the work, but Bay Breeze and this charming mermaid transfer turned it into one-of-kind treasure!

And that’s 40 thrifty makeovers!!
I have so many favorites, but I’m most excited about clearing out several pieces that have been with me since even before I moved over three years ago!
What were your favorites??
I hope you enjoyed this look back!
I’ll be back on Thursday with my Furniture Fixer Upper friends sharing another piece that came out of the depths of my storage room:
UPDATE: See how this table got an elegant new look here now!
See y’all then!!
XOXO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!

Christina says
WOW!!! Christy it has to feel so satisfying to see all the pieces to which you gave new life! Seriously awesome! SO hard to pick favorites… I think the two lamps you painted and then made new shades is one and the other is the doors your dad made. 🙂 I really enjoyed the flash back to all these pieces!
Love Lyla looking up at the new project. 🙂
Be well and have GREAT week!!
Christy says
Yes!! It feels so good, especially since many of these have been hiding in the corners taunting me for years lol! Those were fun makeovers!! Enjoy the rest of your week! XOXO
Cecilia from Georgia says
Best post ever!! I have a few pieces of the same things in this haul that I forgot about (because they are crammed in a secret place) and I am gonna pull them out and gitter done! I love chairs and feel they all turn out alike, but you changed that stinking thinking! Stripes, transfers, and wood appliques! You are the bomb!! I really want one of the Mermaid transfers….if you happen to come across another one:)
Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoyed seeing them all together, Cecilia!! This haul had a lot of chairs and mirrors, and I too wondered how I was going to share interesting posts with some of them, but in the end, they all ended up with their own unique look! Good luck on gittin yours done too!! XOXO
Ruth Anne Buterbaugh says

HELP! I can’t get my painting tent to close back up. It’s in my living room so it wouldn’t blow away last night! Pointers?
Christy says
Oh no lol! If you lay it flat, and then fold it over diagonally from corner to corner, it should start to go back to its circular shape. I think the instructions are on the inside of the cover also. Good luck!
