Don’t you love a good before and after?? I know I do! Today I’m sharing this little cabinet that I recently found at the thrift store for $8:
The painting on this was beautifully done, but definitely in need of an update. One of the doors was warped also, but I knew exactly how to remedy that!
I love when things work out! I didn’t really do much except paint, add a graphic, and swap out the doors, but the change is pretty cool, don’t you think?
A big shout out to my fence picket pile:
I love you guys.
You make so many things better.
I sanded where the decorative painting was previously to get a smooth finish. Then I just painted using white latex paint since I was painting over paint.
I used the old doors as a guide to build my new doors.
I white washed them by using the super simple process shown here.
I attached the cross pieces with screws from the backside…
I reused the original hinges and magnetic closure.
Then I added the “Beach” graphic to the top for a little fun touch. See more about transferring graphics here.
The pulls came off of an older piece. I spray painted them white…
I have this in our bathroom, but you could hang this anywhere to hide a few things.
Now it’s a fun one-of-a-kind!
But wait! There’s more!
On the second Tuesday of each month I’ll be having four other gals sharing their thrifty makeovers too! That’s FIVE for the price of one! 🙂
Click on each photo to see the fabulous afters! Enjoy!
I hope you enjoy our new series. Although I share thrifty makeovers all day long, it’s nice to be able to bring you even more from friends who enjoy it as much as we do! When I saw all their before photos, I couldn’t wait to see how they transformed their finds!
I’ll be back on Thursday to share what I made with these! See ya then! 🙂
Update: See what on earth I made with these now HERE!
If you like what you see, there are several ways to follow along!
I love to share at these great parties:
