Hello, amazing friends! I’m back today with a brand new booth update! If you’re a new subscriber to my blog, welcome! I’ve had a booth here in Virginia Beach at the Virginia Beach Antique Mall since 2014. This is where I sell all the pieces I love back to life. I also sell the full line of Dixie Belle products as well as over 130 Redesign with Prima transfers!
My last booth update was back in September, and it had been a year and a half plus a pandemic since I had shared it before that, so there are a ton of pictures in that update. You can visit that post HERE.
I’ve included few affiliate links so you can find the products I love.
My booth is an “L” shape. This is how it looked the last time I shared it from head on as you enter the small room where my booth is located:
And to the left:
I still had this dresser for sale that I used this gorgeous Vigorous Violet transfer on:
And I had just brought in this spindle headboard bench:
The Vigorous Violet dresser sold and I brought in a couple of smaller pieces…
That included this drop leaf table and the drum table beneath it, plus the pink night table in the back:
I painted the fabric on this chair and the pretty rose hanger was a great way to use up an old cabinet door…
The spindle headboard bench sold, so I rearranged some smaller items in the center…
I was working to bring something larger back in to fill the space and finally tackled this Empire dresser:
I also brought in this fun little basket case that sold almost right away…
(That chair has been in my booth the longest, but I love it as a prop!)
Then I brought in this pretty serpentine dresser:
The drum table sold and I rearranged a bit…
Then I rearranged again and moved the sweet bunny night table over here. I also brought in this fun “tatooed” chair:
The Empire dresser didn’t last long, so I moved the curvy dresser and the tattoo chair to the center spot…
I brought in two flatware boxes that I redid including the Elegant Lace one and the Vintage Post one on the dresser there.
Y’all may have heard me mention in the past that I don’t love my paint as the backdrop for my booth. And I really miss having more space for furniture and smaller items, but until I can expand into a neighboring booth, I am kind of stuck.
Creating more space in my existing space
Or so I thought! I was determined to create more display space in my current booth!
My paint wall has looked like this for a couple of years now:
And it finally occurred to me as I was trying to figure out how I could gain more display space, that I could condense the paint.
And that is exactly what I did! It now looks like this:
I arranged all the chalk paint colors with the largest size on the front and the smaller sizes behind (instead of having them next to each other) which allowed me to get rid of a whole shelving unit!
It totally works and it is so neat and clean looking.
Most importantly, moving that shelf gave me a few more feet to display the pretty things!
I brought in this Pretty in Blue desk a couple of weeks ago:
And the back drop is so much nicer now than just all paint!
It allowed me to create another vignette with furniture and decor pieces along that back wall:
The rest of my Dixie Belle display stayed the same…
And the extra bookcase ended up over on the other side where my transfers are:
I also added the hanging light for extra lighting, and I purchased a new pegboard display for my mini transfers since I needed the shutters I was using previously for the new display area.
I’m so excited to have a little more display space for my furniture and smalls!
Here’s the area to the left in my booth:
The day I was rearranging, that pink bunny night table sold. I was so happy to see that go to a new home!
And here is where the shelf I had displaying transfers ended up:
I replaced it with the extra white bookcase I gained, so it’s for sale again!
It had this pretty mirrored top that came with it but I originally didn’t use it. I eventually added it back:
I just brought this sweet table in last week:
I’ve sold a few smalls since the move, so I whipped up a couple to add like this lamp:
So that’s my current booth situation!
I still have the rolling Antebellum blue buffet cart to bring in. I like to let furniture pieces cure for a week or two before bringing them in, but it’s ready.
I also have the small table that I shared last week ready to bring in.
I need to work on more smalls, so I better get to it!

Your shop looks amazing, what I would give to browse for a while, sadly it would take a long plane ride and then some, haha, so I will settle for this. Thankyou for sharing all your hard work, everything looks beautiful.xx
Christy says
Thank you so much, Janette! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed the virtual version lol! XOXO
Mary Kaiser says
Oh your booth looks so much better moved like that. I wish I could come visit it in person, but if I ever get there it will be my first stop! I hope one of the neighboring booths move out so you can have more room for your beautiful works of art!
Christy says
Thank you, Mary! It’s hard because I want my paint to be seen from the door so people looking for it can find it, but I much prefer the pretty things and this is a good compromise! I wish you could visit too! And yes! While I don’t want to wish for their failure lol, maybe if one of my neighbors has to suddenly move away, that would great ha ha! XOXO
Carla from Kansas says
I love Empire furniture but don’t see a lot of in the greater Kansas City area.
Christy says
It is really beautiful for sure! I don’t come across it too often in our area either! XOXO
Janice Holt says
Your booth looks really good and no doubt you work really hard to keep it stocked and it shows. Good luck on selling all your products.
Christy says
Thank you so much, Janice!! I do enjoy it! XOXO
Jackie C says
Such an awesome booth! I enjoyed the tour. I tend to avoid items with the woven look like the box at the bottom, I’m intimidated about paint pooling in all those nooks and crannies even if I don’t load my brush too much. I’ll be looking forward to your makeover of it 🤗
Christy says
Thank you, Jackie!! Glad you enjoyed the tour! Ha ha yes…I keep going back over it to try and catch any drips as I go! See ya Thursday! XOXO
Carin says
The black empire dresser is my absolute favorite piece you have ever done. It is beautiful!! I am from Huntsville and have been following you for a while. Your work actually inspired me to open my own booth. I have a family member in Virginia Beach and will be visiting in a few months. I cannot wait to come by your booth! Maybe you will be restocking. Your work is just amazing.
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Carin! That dresser went to a sweet couple who fell in love with it. I love that you were inspired to open your own booth! That makes my heart so happy! And yes…I hope you get the chance to stop by when you visit!! XOXO
Kathy says
Christy, your booth looks AMAZING!! Our Son lives in Virginia and I hope we will have a chance to see your booth in person when we visit. Thank you for all the very helpful information you share. Kathy
Christy says
Thank you so much, Kathy! I hope you get to stop by! XOXO
Carolyn G says
It’s a great booth, just enough things to be interesting but not crowded. I’ve had a booth for 23 years and it’s constant rearranging isn’t it? If you’re lucky and things sell! 🙂 Love your color palette too. Thank you for sharing!
Christy says
Thank you, Carolyn! It is always a work in progress for sure! I think it helps to stay in one place long enough for your people to find you as you have probably learned also! XOXO
Stacie James says
Hey Christy,
I just wanted to reach out and let you know how much you inspire and inform me. I have followed your blog for several years now and ordered several things from your Etsy store, but what has really helped me is the joy with which you share your creativity and the practicality of your posts. You not only revitalize once loved pieces of furniture, but you share your knowledge of how to shop for and flip pieces as well. This post gives a newbie like me so much inspiration!
So, THANK YOU- Stacie James ❤️❤️❤️
Christy says
You are the sweetest, Stacie, thank you!! I recognized your name from my shop since we share the same last name lol and I truly appreciate your business! Wishing you all the success you can handle! XOXO
Mary Smart says
I am so glad that the Violet cabinet sold. I couldn’t believe you still had it because it was such a stunner! And the black side board with the botanicals on it is such a great piece too! I know it will sell soon.
Christy says
Me too! It was such a sweet piece! The black piece sold too and that one only lasted a couple of weeks. I was happy of that because it was huge in my space ha ha! Thanks, Mary! XOXO

I love seeing your booth. I thought I was going to have to say something about the bunny dresser not selling, then you said it sold! It was such a sweet piece. I like how you arranged the paint. Looks great! Enjoy your time with your son. Have a wonderful week!
😊Cecilia
Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Cecilia! Yes…I was so happy to see that sweet little piece sell. It went to a sweet young lady who brought her dad in to see it. She just loved it and wanted it for her room. Of course, dad obliged. Thank you…enjoy the rest of your week too! XOXO
Niki says
The booth looks great Christy! Thanks for the tour. It is so nice to refresh and move stuff around and find extra space. Also, I think It would be fun to have my own booth somewhere, or a pop up shop type trailer. I’m not that ambitious right now though. 😊 Enjoy your time with Jack!
Christy says
Thank you, Niki! It is really fun to fluff it up and rearrange for sure! Maybe some day for you lol. Thank you! XOXO
Kimmylouwho says
I would love to visit your booth! Looks wonderful! what are you displaying on the brown cart? I am surprised that you didn’t paint the cart yet! Hope you have continued success!
Christy says
Thanks so much! The brown cart belongs to my neighbor ugh. She has an entire booth of glassware and figurines from her mom’s two storage units she is trying to unload. Hoping she sells the rest of it quickly ha ha! XOXO
Denise Zdziennicki says

Christy says
Thank you so much, my friend! XOXO
Linda says
Thanks for the tour, Christy! Your booth space is beautiful. I am in awe of all the items you upcycle, your paint and accessories business and how you display it all AND create blogposts. How do you do it all? I get so much inspiration from you…
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Linda! I really appreciate that! It probably helped that I took on a little more over time, but it keeps me busy! XOXO
Claudine Dionne says
I love booth updates! Enjoy your “Jack Time”, it sure is precious. 🙂

Robyn Wright says
Everything you make is stunning and beautiful! I think I could SIT in your booth and just happily look at all the pretty things.
Christy says
Aww I appreciate that so much, Robyn, thank you!! XOXO
Marcie Lovett says
The first thing I thought was “Why is that purple dresser still there!?!” But then I saw that some lucky buyer had claimed it 😁 I love seeing that pieces I admire get sold. The new setup looks great, I do believe you’ve made the most of that space, Christy!
BTW, I’m having trouble with “Jack” and “college” in the same sentence, but I guess I have to acknowledge that your kids are growing up. Still, it’s fun to see the old pictures when they still had time to help their mom paint things. Have fun with both boys at home!
Christy says
Thanks, Marcie! I was so happy to see that dresser sell too lol! And I KNOW!! Jack is nearing the end of his third year already. Time is literally flying by! Luckily, Jack is a mama’s boy, so he still enjoys my company even if we’re not working on projects together anymore. But those were sweet days! 😀 XOXO
Michele M. says
What a fun new tour – looks GREAT! I love your things sell so well. What an amazing business/brand you have created for yourself. I get goose bumps every time you share one of your gorgeous pieces. Thanks for the smiles, Christy!!! If I’m ever in Virginia Beach I am going to find this delightful awesome shop!!!!
Christy says
Thank you, Michele! You are so sweet! I’d love for you to get the chance to stop by! XOXO
Addie says
Yeah….Slacker!!! You better get busy on those smalls!!!! All looks great…lots of work. I could never use that purple dresser…BUT I LOVED IT!!!!
Christy says
Ha ha, right?? Thank you, Addie!! I’m so glad the purple dresser found its forever home! XOXO
Celia says
Hi Christy, thanks for the tour, it is inspiring and I love looking at someone else’s work! I just have two comments- I love the basket with the blended paint, so pretty, and I wanted to mention your booth is beautiful but is it possible to put a rug over the floors? Of course something low pile and non slip, I think it would look so nice with your furniture. Thanks for sharing!
Christy says
Thank you, Celia! Yes, our building is quite old and trust me, I’ve tried area rugs! My booth is an “L” shape and it’s hard to find rugs that fit. I have to stay within the confines of that space. Not to mention, when I did try to add a rug, it got filthy…also trip hazard. If I can get the booth across from mine, that will give me a nice big rectangle to work with and I’ll have more options! XOXO
Margie says
What a fresh feeling just rearranging can give a space!
Sidenote…I should have just drove up the street and picked up the Copper leaf…I bought it from your Etsy store instead!
I did forget to get the glue so I’m going to be heading in soon. It’s been a while!
Christy says
Absolutely! Ha ha no worries…why bother when you can get it so fast without leaving the house, right? I appreciate your business either way! Plus, I haven’t stocked it in my booth yet…hopefully by the end of the week though! XOXO
Jeanne says
Thanks for sharing the booth pics. I, too, couldn’t believe the purple dresser was still there since it’s one of my favorites that you’ve done. I would’ve scooped it up! I’m going to look for an empire dresser since I love those too. I appreciate you sharing the pricing info since it helps when I sell items. Enjoy your time with your son. It goes by so quickly!
Christy says
Thank you, Jeanne! Yes, thankfully it finally did sell yay! And I am enjoying my time with Jack for sure!! XOXO
