Hello lovelies!! I have a super easy makeover to share with y’all today! Also the last time you saw my dining room was for Christmas, so I thought it was time to share it again sans the Christmas flair.
First up, here is the cutie pie pitcher I am making over today:
I found it marked down not once, but twice, at the thrift store to $1.98. This is a nice pitcher and it is a great size. I’ve included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I love.
I didn’t really mind the green so much but I knew white would be more versatile. I went digging through my spray paint hoard and found a can of glossy white that I picked up at an estate sale forever ago. (My favorite place to search at estate sales is usually the garage…you can often find paint for a steal!)
I gave it a quick coat of spray primer first, then about three good coats of glossy white:
Go easy on each coat so you don’t get any drips!
And voila:
It looks perfectly at home now on our dining room table!
And the finish is really pretty up close:
Looks like it was always white. I filled it with faux greenery I found at Michaels a couple of months ago.
Not too bad for a $2 clearance pitcher from the thrift store, eh?
And here’s our dining room ready for the warmer months ahead:
This room is just to the left as you walk in the front door.
I mentioned before that my favorite way to add a touch of spring to any space is greenery, like this swag I added across the top of my hutch…
I used the same greenery swags that I used to make my this $7 Spring Wreath a couple of months ago:
See that simple tutorial HERE.
They are from Hobby Lobby…I just joined a few together with a little floral wire, and staple gunned them in place.
Did you notice we also got a new rug?
You can find this one on Amazon HERE. We have the 7X9 size. It sounds crazy to have all these light colors in a place where we eat food, but we only use this space at Holiday gatherings, so it just sits looking pretty the rest of the year.
And remember the light fixture? I was really unsure about it when we moved in, but it has grown on me and I kinda love it now.
I thought I would paint the chrome parts white, but that’s a project for another year or maybe never ha ha.
I bought these lanterns and this faux fur runner at the Holidays, but I think they still work.
The runner is just so whimsical.
If you missed our Christmas dining room where I shared update#2 of this table and chairs, you can see it HERE.
That mirror came from Kirklands.
Glossy white spray paint isn’t just perfect for pitchers…how about figurines? A great way to unify a collection!
I’ll be back here Thursday sharing what I created with this empty frame:
See ya then!
UPDATE: I can’t wait for y’all to see what this frame turned into…check it out now HERE! 🙂
XO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!
If you like what you see, there are several ways to follow along!

How cute, and so easy! Very inexpensive, but looks like a million dollars. I have some glossy white paint that I picked up at the thrift store for .50 cents a can, now I just have to get a cool shaped pitcher to use it on. Thanks for the smalls tutorial again, I can do this!!!

Thanks, Mary! Yes…such a quick and easy update. Great score on the spray paint…gotta love a deal like that! XOXO

Christy, I, too, ,like the green and yet adore the white of the pitcher. Your dining room looks so inviting and bright!!
Christy says
Thanks, Christina! Yes I really did love the green as is, but you know me…had to go white ha ha! XOXO

Poor pitcher. No one could see past that green. It looks better now and certainly doesn’t look like it’s been painted . Who knew you could spray paint ceramic? Well, you did, and I’ve probably seen you do it before, but forgot.
Why, yes, I did notice the new rug. And I thought you got a new light fixture, too! The room looks wonderful with all the different textures. Enjoy making memories in there.
Christy says
Ha ha I know poor thing…but good for me! Ceramic paints up really nicely. I did share an owl figurine that I spray painted during one of my March Madness posts a few years ago. It turned out really cute. Thanks, Marcie! XOXO

Very Beautiful, the pitcher and your room!

That pitcher looks perfect! Love what you’ve done with your dining room, and I noticed the new rug right off! 😉 Everything looks light and airy!
Christy says
Thanks, Julie! Our dining room is really just there to look pretty most of the year, but it is nice to have it when we need it! XOXO

Your dining room is so pretty. Love the pitcher. I never find great stuff in thrift stores. Thanks for sharing.
Christy says
Thank you so much, Barbara! I thrift a LOT ha ha, and there are many days I come up empty handed too! 🙂 XO

Your dining room looks amazing.

Thank you so much, Ange! XOXO

Glossy white spray paint, huh? Never knew it could be used on ceramics! I have an etched glass heavy water pitcher that I can’t stand for H2O. I occasionally use it for flower arrangements. Could I use glossy spray paint on it?
Also, please do not paint the chandelier. Your dining room needs the contrast & it unifies the few metallic frames in the room.
Christy says
I have never tried it on glass, but I imagine it wouldn’t be much different? Save an old pickle jar or something to test it on and see! I’d love to know too! And you know the more I look at my chandelier, the more I love it as is, so it is doubtful I will ever paint it! 🙂 XOXO
Pamela S Barnes says
Looks so pretty! Now I want to run to my goodwill and see what might be there!
I really like the look you have hanging on your walls too!
Christy says
Thanks, Pamela! Yes go ha ha or wait for the weekend and hit up the yard sales! XOXO
Addie says
Hello!!! I am so glad you kept the chandelier …..I always loved it!!! It is unique and that is the best part. Don’t paint it it looks great the way it it. It will always look good when the table is set with silver/chrome cutlery.
Everything is looking good!!!
God bless~ Addie
Christy says
Hi Addie!! Yes I love the chandelier now…so glad I kept it! I doubt I will ever paint it now. Thank you!! XOXO
Shelby Cole says
Would you share where your beautiful rug came from ?
Thanks
Shelby
Christy says
Hi Shelby! Yep…you can find it here on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2GnX8Gp 🙂

Cute Idea for the pitcher. I have a pink one I picked up at a garage sale I might do the same. There just isn’t anyplace I could use it. Oh, wait a minute, my granddaughter wants her bedroom at my house pink so I might be able to use it in there. I guess I’ll wait a bit on that!
I love your chandelier! I wouldn’t change a thing about it! Your dining room looks lovely too!
In response to your last response, I don’t want to have to sell at a place I have to be there. Been there, done that. I like your way. Let someone else handle the selling part, I’ll just do the creating. LOL
Christy says
Thanks, MaryJean! And yes…I totally understand…I love that I don’t have to be there! XOXO
