Hello beautiful friends! Today I’m sharing a different kind of makeover! I’ve had requests by a few to share my workspace. I think we can all agree that we are way more productive when we have a clean, organized workspace, am I right?
My workspace is in our two-car garage. The problem is, although I do tidy up my work area quite often, I was destined to repeatedly destroy it within just a week or so due to the lack of functional organization!
That has all changed and now I am actually excited to share my new, super organized, and way more functional workspace!
First, here is our garage after I first got it organized shortly after we moved in back in 2017:
I set my work area up in the corner in front of the window. In our new house, I now had a dedicated storage room just inside the house that was perfect to store all my project pieces.
And here is how it looked before I got organized:
Can you even see my work area in that back corner now?? My storage room is also acting as Miss Lyla’s room at the moment where we keep her box, etc, so I have been keeping my current haul in the garage as I work through it.
If you were a neighbor passing by, from this view, you might think our garage was full, but not too terribly messy.
But then as we get a more head-on view, it gets worse:
I was finding myself stuffed in this corner, surrounded by chaos:
I built this work table back in 2013 out of a couple of sheets of plywood and some 4 x 4s we had left over from our fence installation. It was totally function over form, except it has never functioned that well.
I knew I had to do something to make it function smarter and so I did!
Turning my bench allowed me to make good use of both sides. I cleared everything off the shelves and started over using these stackable drawers to help me get organized!
Cue the angels singing! I looked everywhere locally and finally found these on Amazon, and they are the BEST!
I can easily organize so many things, and because they are drawers, I don’t have to pull individual bins out, take off the lids, etc, I can just open, get what I need and close them!
I actually want to put things back where they belong! Here I have a drawer for misc parts likes wheels and such, tape, glue sticks, gloves, sponges, you name it! I could not be more excited about it!
For the other side, I found these wider stackable drawers:
They hold everything from hardware…
To paint brushes….
I also purchased a few regular clear bins to hold other things like my drop cloths and rags. I used to keep my paper towels on my old kitchen mini island that I brought over from the other house, along with a ton of other supplies that I piled on top of it. I instead made space for some of these things underneath so I can keep the top absolutely clear in between projects!
I use two narrow cabinets that I brought from our other house to hold all my paint supplies. They were overflowing before:
You can see how organized that hot mess was! Those poor sagging shelves too!
I didn’t do anything about the sagging shelves, but I did clear everything out and only put back what I would absolutely use!
I have a huge bin of products, many of which were sent to me, that I was going to donate. However, if any of you are interested in me doing another craft junk giveaway with some of these products, I’d be glad to. Just let me know in the comments! Many of these products are slightly used just so you know!
And my other cabinet:
This large cabinet in the corner used to house the TV back when I bought my first house and I have kept it for storage, but it was shamefully disgusting:
Definitely not the best way to store fabric!
I used more of these clear bins to organize my fabric on top of the cabinets:
I tried to organize it by color. This is only part of my fabric stash. The rest is in the dresser I use for storage in my office.
I used to house my spray paint on these metal shelves along the back wall:
I moved it this cabinet so it is much more accessible now:
This cabinet worked great for housing my stencils since it is so deep, so they stayed put.
The bottom holds all my wall-painting supplies like trays, rollers, etc.
This is the view from the opposite corner now:
I stacked my haul a little neater. And actually my pile has shrunk since I took this photo. The table and windsor chair are done and in my booth, and the China Cabinet is in the dining room waiting for its photo shoot!
Here was my view from the house before:
Absolutely tragic! I had to walk all the way around my pile of crap to even get to my work area!
And after:
Our tools hang on a pegboard I installed to the right of the garage door. I used to have my tape, brushes, and staple guns hanging here, but since I have moved them to my drawers, I was able to reorganize and uncrowd this area as well:
I organized pretty much the whole garage which made my Hubby a very happy man!
Here is the left side:
And here are our saws and tools to the right:
It feels so good to finally get organized in a way that will be easy keep up!
I don’t know how many of you needed to see this post to know that you are not alone in the struggle to stay organized, but I hope baring my mess of a workspace and how I finally got it organized was helpful!
I can’t tell you how much more productive I have been! I got several smalls lined up and redone that I will be back to share on Tuesday, along with this cookbook holder from my Winter Thrifty haul:
UPDATE! See how this piece and four others look now HERE!
Have an amazing weekend!!
XOXO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!

What an amazing job you did organizing your workshop area! I am in the process of organizing my craft area which happens to be right by the front door! Needless to say we don’t have company visit us at the moment. Thanks for the inspiration!
Christy says
Thank you, Maryellen! My office is right by the front door too and I struggle to keep my desk as organized as I should. Being creative is messy business lol! XOXO
Leah says
Thank you for sharing your chaos with us. Well done !!!
Christy says
Thank you! Creating is messy business ha ha! XOXO
Mary Kaiser says
First, let me say how amazing you are! Second, let me say how jealous I am of your work space! I live in Michigan, so I cannot store all of the paint and things in the garage, because they would freeze. I can’t work in the garage anyway, because I would freeze. My basement is partial un finished and I use it for a work space to store all of my paint and future projects! I have one question, where do you and hubby park your cars? LOL just curious! I love what your have done with your organized garage, maybe just the inspiration that I need to get mine more organized! You are awesome! PS yes I would love to win your slightly used craftstuff you don’t need, I will send you my address!! LOL
Christy says
Aww you’re the best, Mary! Thank you! I never thought about how you guys in those frigid states have to store your paint. We rarely get below freezing here. We just park our cars in the driveway because we rarely get snow, but our neighbors park in the garage. Guess where they’re from? Michigan lol!! I will definitely be putting together a giveaway woot woot! XOXO
Petra says
Gorgeous work space – so large and organised 🙂 . Well I’ve taken the plunge and have started on my own blog!!! You’ve inspired me! Just have to sort out a better work space for myself! xo
Christy says
Thank you, Petra! And CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I hope you’ll share the name once you’re up and running so I can visit! No pressure though…I’m so excited for you!! XOXO
Sheila DelCharco says
Very impressive! That was a lot of hard work! Well done!
Christy says
Thank you, Sheila! It felt really good to get it done!! XOXO
Lori says
Thanks for this. Have been working all winter to organize our basement. We picture people with these huge fabulous workspaces and you made it real. You can do wonderful things in garages and basements.
Christy says
Yes, you can do wonderful things in garages and basements!! My space is not fancy by any means, but by gosh it sure is functional now lol! XOXO
Susie Wilcox says
You have done a fantastic job with the organizing. I have a workshop underneath our sunroom. I try to keep it organized, but it is hard work. Organizing is another “hobby” of mine. The same size/style containers seem to help tremendously. I need to give that some thought as I have a mishmash of containers. A give away would be wonderful! More things to add to my workshop!
Christy says
Thank you, Susie! I purged a bunch of plastic containers that were mismatched…having the same ones really does help so much! I will definitely be putting together a giveaway soon! XOXO
Kate says
Your hard work getting things in order looks great! Thanks for the inspiration…I need to do the same with my craft room (AGAIN). Afterwards, creating is always done with a lot less stress for me and I hope the same for you! I just wish I kept it neat;/ Maybe this is the time I will! Loved this post.
Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoyed this, Kate! It is hard to stay organized, but it has been much easier since I have created a designated spot for everything and those bins really help!! XOXO
Kristina says
Your work space looks amazing!! I’m waiting for the weather to get warmer (we live in New York) so my work space, also in the garage, looks tragic!! I keep finding items I want to redo, so my stash is this big mountain! Come on Spring!!
Thanks for sharing your new work space, it looks great!!
Christy says
Thank you, Kristina! That is a great word “tragic” lol…that would have described mine before quite well! XOXO
Christina in SW FL says
“BOOM!” Mind blown! That was a HUGE project and you did a great job! I am thoroughly impressed with all the tools, supplies and products you have.. as well as how organized they are now. Way to go!! I bet it really feels good to be in there now.
Christy says
Thanks, Christina! I does feel so good to be organized!! XOXO
Debbie says
It looks great, I have been reorganizing closets, cabinets etc all winter and it feels so good to do that. I am looking into purchasing some of your Dixie Bell paints for a couple of projects, is there a color chart I can view somewhere?
Christy says
Thank you, Debbie! I really does feel so good to get organized! If you visit my Etsy shop and click on any color of paint, if you scroll through the images in the listing, you will see a color chart. I included one in each paint listing. XOXO
Kathy says
Christy! I am so inspired by your post. I have been trying for years to
Organize my workspace as well. I love how you used the drawers to keep like things together. Thanks for sharing in so much detail. I love your posts and have followed you for years.
Christy says
Oh yay! I’m so glad this was helpful! Thank you so much for following a long with me, Kathy! XOXO
Toni says
I’ve had sagging shelves in the past and just flipped them upside down.
Sure, they’ll have a bump, but just for a little while.
The garage looks fantastic-well done!
I love your furniture make-overs.
Christy says
These shelves are hollowed out on the underside unfortunately, but when I get a chance, I’ll cut new ones. Thank so much, Toni! XOXO
Anna Edwards says
Oh boy, I totally needed to see this! Your lovely “after” photos of your projects show such perfection, I was afraid your work space would be the same way! I can’t see how work spaces can function realistically without getting messy. My work space is in a constant rotation of productive-messiness to reorganizing-cleanliness. Once things look organized and clean, it motivates me to get creative which leads right back to the mess again! Thanks for keeping it real!
Christy says
Girl, same same same! The cycle just continues…side effect of being a creative person, right? I am determined not to let it get the way it was this time ha ha!! And yes, my workspace is definitely function over form! XOXO
susan says
HAHA! I LOVE it! We bought a bunch of cabinets at an auction which makes it nice for storage but I have the worst time keeping my work table clean 😝 I’d love to have to work table you have! My husband also bought a huge piece of linoleum he put down with gorilla tape. Yep, giveaway your “stuff”! Always exciting to win something!
Christy says
Oh the cabinets are probably fantastic for organizing! I have always been awful for not keeping my worktable clean, but I have noticed that since I now have an actual home for most things, that I’m actually putting things back in their place. I really hope it lasts ha ha!! I’ll do a giveaway for sure! XOXO
Robin Stephens says
Finishing a project (of any kind) is rewarding….but organizing a well-used space, it is THE best! It’s an over-the-moon feeling, isn’t it? Go you! Happy for you. In the long run, it will save you so much in energy and time! And, yes, please and thank you, do another discard giveaway. Squeal! ❤️
Christy says
Yes!! It is absolutely the best!! I will most certainly be doing a giveaway…look for it soon!! 😀 XOXO
Cindy Burnett says
I absolutely love visiting your diy projects. The organization must have taken you quite a while. I’m interested in your giveaway.
Christy says
Thank you so much, Cindy!! I got my garage done in about a day and a half…I hustled ha ha! Look for the giveaway soon!! XOXO
Phyllis says
I can imagine you are even more productive now. Organization tends to make us want to do more. Mine is a constant battle. Sometimes I win other times I don’t. Your work area looks great. Congratulations!
Christy says
Thank you, Phyllis! I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who struggles to stay organized…it really is a constant battle! I hope it isn’t so much now that everything has its place! XOXO
Cynthia says
Wow! Great job. I love it when my work area is neat.
Cynthia
Christy says
Thanks! Yes, me too! Makes me want to keep working! XOXO
gwen says
Okay Christy, I now have ‘garage envy!’ It looks super and I’m sure it’ll be even easier to get your projects done, photographed and out the door! Do I dare share this post with my husband?
Christy says
Ha ha show him!! It really has been so nice working out there since I got my act together!! XOXO
Valerie says
This is wonderful!! I need to do this so badly, but it is hard to stack and organize unique items that are large, small, tall, short, thick, thin…!! I have an area above all 3 garages organized by metal, wood, tools, etc. and it is overflowing!! You are inspiring!!
BTW, I would love for you to have another drawing of neat stuff!
Christy says
Thanks, Valerie! It is hard to organize odd shaped items for sure! I purged a lot in this clean up as well…so many things that I hadn’t looked at or used in years! That really helped too! Look for a giveaway soon! XOXO
Deanna says
Awesome! You did a great job organizing, something we all tend to put off. Like you mentioned, with everything being so accessible, you’ve now freed your creative beast to go gang busters!
Christy says
Thanks, Deanna! And yes!! This has really helped to let those creative juices flow! XOXO
Wendy says
Very Nice Christie. I am in the process of hauling out 21 years of “stuff”! Since we will be moving in a few months and listing our home for sale, I am having to de-clutter every inch of my home. Rented a large storage unit for the meantime, to put everything that I am de-cluttering into for safe keeping. The hardest part is going through everything and deciding what to keep and what not to keep. That takes the most time. I have a large workroom in the basement which was actually a bedroom and will be turning it back into a bedroom again. Since it is winter and cold where I live, having an area in the garage (which is not heated) as a work area is not an option. I am hoping to have a heated garage next time around. Doesn’t it feel so nice when everything is organized? Almost makes you want to just sit and enjoy the accomplishment before it gets messed up again. LOL
Christy says
Thanks, Wendy! I don’t envy you getting your home ready for the market. Isn’t it crazy how much we accumulate?? I wish you the best with that! A heated garage would be awesome. I hope there is one in your future! And yes, it feels amazing to have mine all organized now!! XOXO
LORRI RAUSCHER says
I am so proud of you.☺️.your garage looks lovely and organized but mostly now you know where everything is and in its spot. I strive to keep our garage organized but I admit it is a struggle.
I am a crafter as well… but sometimes…yikes!!!
Christy says
Thank you, Lorri! Yes it is so nice now that everything has a home! Staying organized is a struggle for real! XOXO
Mary says
What a transformation!! Thank you for sharing this, Christy. I start to get organized and then get in a hurry and I feel as if I’m back to square one…. you’ve inspired me to “get back at it” organizationally and as I do it, allocate one location for each type of thing. I will continue to try and leave enough time for clean up. I keep saying…. it’s a question of discipline! Thanks again!
Christy says
Thanks, Mary! It really does help to have a spot for everything! Good luck getting back at it! XOXO
JoAnn says
tks. for the pics. I have been using one of my four bedrooms as a craft rm. and it is getting too small. I have decided to move everything to one of the rooms downstairs that I use for storage and hanging clothes to dry that I cannot put in the dryer. I think I will move my craft room there and “organize” it. You have inspired me!
Christy says
Oh yay! I love that you’re feeling inspired!! Moving rooms will really help! XOXO
Cate says
GREAT JOB!! Wow, you really worked! Congrat’s on a job well done! My friend’s husband made a somewhat similar container for her and they put the towel rack on the side of a leg so she can just grab a sheet without having to go and get it underneath.
Christy says
Thank you, Cate! The towel rack is a fantastic idea! XOXO
Gloria Wyssbrod says
It looks great wish I had a garage I use to but carport so I paint in my kitchen outside when weather is wonderful. Lol Another give away would be great.
Christy says
Thanks, Gloria! Gotta do what you gotta do to stay creative! Look for that giveaway soon! 😊
Angela Howarth says
Well done! I love being organized and this will now clear your mind to be way more productive than you already are! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Christy says
Thanks! Yes, absolutely!! XOXO
Bev says
3 things: you are amazing!!!! Your hubby is a saint for letting you have the garage! & dont forget they make shelving that can hang from the rafters to clear even more space! Yay!!
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Bev!! My hubby really is the best and he doesn’t even complain when I let it get that bad! He’s a keeper! Love the idea of adding even more storage to the ceiling!! XOXO
sharon austin says
Looks good; I need to do that with my craft room!! LOL And I think I speak for everyone when I say yes to another giveaway!!
Christy says
Thank you, Sharon! Ha ha ok you got it! XOXO
Laura says
A craft junk giveaway is a great idea! It gives people a chance to try products they may not have tried before.
Christy says
Yes absolutely!! XOXO
Sue H Mellette says
Thanks for sharing. I am always curious about how creative folks use their workspace. You do such beautiful work transforming ordinary items into treasures. Your workspace redo must make you smile. I need to do the same with my workspace!
Christy says
You’re welcome, Sue! Thank you! It puts a big ole smile in my face every time I walk out there! XOXO
Addie says
Lovely!!! Where do you put the car??? You mentioned the neighbor seeing in the windows….why don’t you put blinds on the windows? I couldn’t stand people possibly looking in. Love the work table you built. I have been pondering a new worktable. I do a lot of eBay and need a better “mail-out” table. Using a fold up and my back is killing me!!! Went to Costco yesterday but girl, you got me thinking now!!!
Have a great weekend!!!! XX00
Christy says
Thanks! We put the cars in the driveway. We don’t have to worry about snow here, so we just keep them out. My work table is fantastic. You could always lift your table up a few inches by putting paint cans or soup cans under the legs maybe? A temporary fix, anyway lol! Enjoy your weekend too!! XOXO
Marie Alkire says
Wow what a difference! I agree we are more productive when we are organized. I’m in the middle of organizing my craft/paint/office lol it’s thrashed. I just got done doing a paint nite fundraiser for a friend with brain cancer and prepping all the signs in just well I don’t need to expand on that lol. Thank you for all you share, it is much appreciated. And yes if you do a raffle I’m in!
Christy says
Yes we certainly are more productive when we’re organized! Sounds like yours got thrashed for a great cause. Prayers for your friend… she is lucky to have you! Look for a giveaway soon! XOXO
Kimberly Wollmer says
Great job! Call me a nerd, but I love organizing things. It makes me feel like I have all the power and I am in control! lol! Can’t wait to see what you do with the cookbook holder, as I have something very similar. Have a nice weekend!
Christy says
Thanks, Kimberly! I feel the same! See ya Tuesday!! XOXO
Rhonda Storey says
Christy, I am SO much like you in that it makes me happy to be organized. I recently re-organized my small walk-in closet. I got everything off the floor and added a cabinet with pull out bins. I love it! One suggestion for you…..I would replace those plastic shelves in your cabinets with wood ones. I did that once and they hold so much more weight without sagging. I just bought the shelves at Lowe’s that are coated with the veneer (?) that comes in white, black, and brown. It was very inexpensive and worked great! I really enjoy your makeovers and look forward to them every week! You are SO talented!!
Christy says
I bet it felt so good to get your closet organized! When I do that, I don’t even mind putting my laundry away! I’m definitely going to replace the shelves in my cabinets. Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn’t noticed how saggy they were until I was editing photos lol! Thank you!! XOXO
Lorraine Castellon-Rowe says
Absolutely awesome! You did a great job organizing everything! And it seems like you didn’t spend very much buying the new drawers and bins! One day I will do this to our garage so I can be more productive. 😂 Proud of you for cleaning up everything. ❣️
Christy says
Thank you, Lorraine! I don’t think I spent more than $100 for everything I bought. Money well spent for sure! XOXO
Janet S says
Great use of your space! You need to come to Utah and organize my shed!
Christy says
Thanks! Ha ha! XOXO
Toni says
A craft junk giveaway! Yes!
Your garage looks great. I would love mine to look like this, but as soon as my husband worked on something, you’d never know it had been organized.
Christy says
I am so glad my husband is neater than me! I feel for ya! Thank you and I’ll definitely be doing a giveaway soon! XOXO
Charleen says
Fabulous.do you hire out?lol seriously,I need to do the same in my garage. My kids drag their stuff to mom ,because she has a garage. Don’t ya just love ’em?
Christy says
Thanks, Charleen! I’m so glad I have the garage pretty much to myself! It would be hard to share lol! XOXO
Cheryl Atkinson says
Hi Christy! Good for you. I am so jealous. I have just moved from a 4 bedroom house with a garage to a 2 bedroom apartment and let me tell you this. I have boxes of my craft stuff stacked everywhere because i have so many pieces of furniture i need to paint. I think i have a furniture hoarding problem. 🙂 Once i get started i will accomplish a lot but between a full time job and since my daughter got sick i don’t have very much time on my hands. Your work space looks awesome! Go get creative girlfriend!
Christy says
Thank you, Cheryl! I bet it was really hard to downsize when you were used to all that space! I ended up purging a ton in my workspace as well which helped open it up. I’m keeping your daughter in my prayers! XOXO
Cynthia Murphy says
Hi. I need to reorganize too. Try to do a little everyday. Would love for you to have a giveaway!
Christy says
It really is nice to be organized! Look for a giveaway soon! XOXO
Jacy says
I love that you have sunlight! My workspace is a very small area in our basement…Great job pulling your space together.
Christy says
Our old garage didn’t have any light and I don’t miss it at all! Hopefully your space is painted nice and bright white! Thanks, Jacy! XOXO
kim k leon-o'neill says
Anything you don’t use or want PLEASE PLEASE give it away….
my way, by the way.
Christy says
Ha ha! I will definitely be doing a giveaway… look for it soon! XOXO
Leslie says
Wow–well done! That has to feel great!
Christy says
Thanks, Leslie! It sure does! XOXO
zefi says
I am so envious!!! I had to give up my workshop and all the storage space (not to mention all my STUFF, the things I’d collected to make things with, projects I hadn’t gotten to yet etc) when I left Australia to move back to Greece to be closer to mom. I really miss having a place to work and a place to keep my tools and all the things I have had to start buying all over again…
Christy says
Oh no! That stinks, but it also allows you to start collecting again, right? That’s the best part! I do know that you mean though because when we moved to this house, my husband and his brother moved the contents of the garage over and he tossed most of my stash! All my fence pickets and wood scraps plus several project pieces. It was kind of nice to just let it go, but it took me a bit to find my creative groove again! XOXO
Julie Timmerman says
Thank you, thank you! It’s so frustrating to
Know you bought something but because of the hot mess you can’t find it🙄. You have a great work space, the lighting is great. How many of those drawers did you have to purchase? One more question : Do you do house calls?? Smile! Your awesome and I will look forward to opening my mail on Tuesday
💕👍
Christy says
Thank you, Julie!! It really is so nice to have a place for everything! I bought two sets of six shoe box sized drawers for a total of 12, and three of the wider three-drawer bins. If I had room for more, I probably would have bought more lol! XOXO
Marcie Lovett says
Oh, yeah, drawers all the way. I’ve been migrating from bins to drawers and it’s so much better now. I’ve been buying them at thrift stores when I see them and I just found the wide three-drawer units at Joann. I keep a photo on my phone to remind me what I have so I don’t end up with a jumble of drawers that don’t stack – who knew there were so many different styles? (learned that one the hard way 😉) Enjoy your newly organized space, Christy!
Christy says
The drawers really rock! What a game-changer! Great idea to keep a photo on your phone, and I never thought to try JoAnns! Thanks, Marcie! XOXO
Kathy says
I personally have a bit of an obsession about being organized, but I know after many projects (and my husband and kids putting away – or not putting away things) it can get crazy messy. and doesn’t it feel AWESOME to have a clean space – I LOVE that feeling. Good job! Makes me want to go organize my garage now – LOL!
Christy says
Oh my goodness, it feels so good!! I love my new and improved space now and I actually want to put things away, which was definitely (and obviously) not the case before lol! XOXO
Jamie says
Just want to say thanks for all the great ideas. I’ve been trying to get our work space organized and you’ve given us a lot of great ideas. Great job.
Christy says
Oh good! You’re welcome! XOXO
christina hicks says
All I can say is WOW! you are a very impressive woman!!!!, would love a new giveaway!II really enjoy getting your posts.
Christy says
Thanks so much, Christina!! Look for a giveaway soon! XOXO
Karen Hanssen says
Christy you are my hero! You produce such great makeovers. I love your tutorials and shopping videos! You are such an inspiration! Thank you so much. AND now seeing your workspace has helped tremendously as well! GREAT JOB!! I was wondering if your garage is insulated? I live in South Carolina and find it very difficult to find the right temperatures to be out there working. It is either too hot or too cold from the dampness. And I also find if I leave things out there it can get a little musty/moldy smelling! I keep my paint in the house because of the changing temperatures. You live in Virginia Beach so you must have the same humidity issues. Any tips? THANK YOU AGAIN for all your tips and ideas.
Christy says
Aww you are so sweet, Karen! Thank you! Our garage is not insulated. I just bundle up when it’s cold and turn on my fan when it’s hot. I store all my paints in the garage…the humidity, which can get really bad here, hasn’t been an issue. Our garage doesn’t usually leave anything musty smelling, but the windows in our garage let in a lot of morning sunshine that probably help to keep it dried out. We did have that issue in our old garage where there was no sunlight. XOXO
Cecilia from Georgia says
It makes me feel better just knowing I’m in good company! Half of my garage is crammed with treasures that I forgot I had and some have been damaged Even more due to the wet weather we’ve had. Veneer does not like humidity 🥺. I finally got a work shed so hopefully I can get it organized enough to work. You’ve given me some excellent ideas! By all means have the giveaway! I buy used paint at Goodwill and OOPs paint, so I would love anything you are willing to share! XOXO
Christy says
Yes, you are definitely not alone ha ha! I’d love to have a dedicated work shed, but until then, I’ll just have to keep going in my little corner of the garage! Look for a giveaway soon!! XOXO
Robin says
Looks really great.
Psst. So where do you park the automobiles? : )
Christy says
Thanks, Robin! We park in the driveway… since we rarely get any snow! 🙂 XOXO
Wendy says
Really nice job organizing and purging and thinking through where things really needed to live. I’m new to the diy world but your website has been so helpful. Thank you, and I would be very interested in a giveaway to try some new products!
Christy says
Thanks, Wendy! I’m so glad you have found my site helpful! Look for a giveaway soon! XOXO
Judy Saddler Nieder says
I don’t have a garage or any space to use for my projects. I laid claim to a room off the family room with attached bath and my supplies are stacked haphazardly there. There is a path from the doorway through my “box room” to the bathroom toilet. And a path to the sink which I use to clean brushes. The shower has shelving for paint and the space around the shower has stacked crate shelving for paints and other materials. It is crowded and messy and I get frustrated but my husband hasn’t yet threatened , so I consider I’m in good shape, so far.
I, too, would enjoy another contest.
Christy says
Sounds like you have it figure it. Judy! I always feel like I’m ok as long as my Husband hasn’t complained yet too ha ha! I’ll definitely be doing a giveaway…look for that soon! XOXO
Becky says
Oh lovely! My husband asked for an organized garage for Christmas. I laughed. I have to admit though, 75% of the mess is not his, eek! This spring… Thanks for the reminder to add systems to to make maintenance easy! With a gang of kids sharing the space, it goes down hill FAST.
Christy says
Thanks, Becky! I am definitely the less organized one in this relationship…what can we say? Being creative is messy business! But yes, adding the drawers was a total game changer! XOXO
Julia A Johnson says
Your newly organized spaces look great and functional! I just reorganized my very small, very untidy craft space. Now, I have room for some of your slightly used craft materials! I would sure love them. I live way out in the woods and have to drive a long distance to get craft supplies – or order them online (if I do not need something right away). They things you are giving away would be much appreciated!
Christy says
Oh perfect! I hope to get a giveaway together very soon, so be on the lookout! XOXO
Jason Myopic says
That was a huge undertaking! I like that you did not block the widows, a lot of people do that and it looks terrible from outside. It really looks great! I wonder how long it will stay like that? Mine always gets disorganized within a few months, lol!

Christie, a million thanks! Last year when you showed us your garage makeover, I was inspired and with the help of my husband we built a similar work bench! Yay! Didn’t get the garage organized, but it was the workspace I needed!
Your current workspace makeover has once again inspired me to ‘get to it’! I have a mental block and can’t start a project unless certain things in my house/surroundings are somewhat organized! My guest room was that space that needed attention before I start on my massive painting projects! Happy to say I just finished cleaning the guest room and feel free to start on my garage! So again I say thank you!
