Hello Friends! Happy Halloween and welcome to my outdoor Halloween tour!
If you have been following me for a while, you know that we love some Halloween around here. We were undecided whether we were going to decorate the new house this year, especially since we have way more important projects on our to-do list than decorating for Halloween. However the kids in us got all giddy when we started going through the Halloween containers and that was that!
Before I start the tour, I want to let you know that this afternoon, at 2 pm EST, I will be sharing my tour LIVE in our Make it New Facebook Group! I do hope some of you can stop by to watch. If you aren’t a member of our group yet, you can join HERE. Then all you have to do is open our page at 2:00. (If you don’t see me there, you may need to refresh or just close out and go back into the group page until you see me live.)
On with the tour…welcome to the James’ Dead and Breakfast Inn…mwahahaha
Okay so it isn’t too spooky during the day.
We had to start from scratch deciding where everything should go but I think we worked it out. Our Dead and Breakfast Inn sign (see how I made that HERE) fits in perfectly at the bottom of the steps to welcome guests.
As you head up the steps to the left you’ll see this little creepy missy:
Just behind her is my BEWARE sign I made several years ago. (I shared that HERE.)
And we got a new doorbell this year…
To the right is the Butler. Our Halloween obsession started with this guy almost 10 years ago.
His girl isn’t too far away…
That chair was a curbside find that I spray painted black. The table is one of mine that I borrowed for the occasion. Her dress was an old costume of mine.
If you keep going you’ll run into this spooky vignette…
Our porch wraps around the house a bit and I found this area around the corner to be the perfect place to set up a table for two…
That table was a curbside find along with the chair I mentioned earlier. These two chairs were thrift store finds. The tablecloth is a curtain panel from Target that I found at the thrift store.
The tall candelabra was also at thrift store find. I borrowed the mercury glass candlesticks from my own décor…
A combination of thrift store plates, some cute Halloween ones I found at Target this year, and my Holiday chargers…
Just beyond this dining duo is our resident witch:
I still have these books from an awesome Pottery Barn inspired Halloween mantel I did several years ago. See it HERE.
As you head back out you’ll notice a friend trying to join the party…
Behind him you can see another couple…
One of my old costume wigs is a fun addition.
(You can also see we now have grass woohoo!)
If you head back towards the porch, you’ll see it is flanked on either side by the graveyard…
To the right is this guy who lost the rest of his body…
Oops there it is.
(Splitting a skeleton in two like that is a great way to get more mileage out of one!) This one actually broke so this worked out well.
To the left is this guy…
We grabbed that rocker after someone had left it outside a dumpster near our old house. It has been part of our Halloween display ever since.
And just above this area is a guy who looks like he’s had one too many…
Our display really comes alive at night!
We switched out all the porch bulbs for the flickering short circuit bulbs…too bad you can’t see that in photos.
This room above the entry also has a lamp with one of those creepy short circuit bulbs and a blue light…
She is super creepy!
We just added our tent to the front of the walkway yesterday afternoon so I only got night time photos. I made this lighted sign for the top but didn’t get a chance to share it on the blog:
To make it, I used the piece of wood that came off of the back of the mirror that I recently turned into a chalkboard for my kitchen.
The tent provided a great way to hang our pumpkin guy:
Tonight we will line the driveway and walkways with mason jars and tea lights. I also like to place mason jars and tea lights throughout our display.
I am so excited I can hardly wait! I was told we get a ton of trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood. We’ll be ready!

I’ll see you back here on Thursday sharing my favorite gift I’ve ever made for someone out of these children’s clothes:

You know how much I always enjoy your Halloween displays and was looking forward to seeing how you set it up at your new home. As always, you did not disappoint! Happy Halloween and how the kids in your neighborhood have a spooktacular time at your house tonight!
Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Marie! We almost didn’t decorate, but when we started looking through the bins we just couldn’t help ourselves LOL. Our new neighbors loved our display, but I got a text from my old next-door neighbor who said that people in the old neighborhood really missed us this year. Made me a bit sad! Hope you had a great Halloween! XOXO

Christy, I have one question, where do you keep all your decorations? 🙂 That’s a lot to store. I do love everything you’ve done! It must take you awhile to set it all up. Since I will be retiring in about 6 weeks, next year I will be doing more for my annual Halloween party with the grandkids. I’ll be using some of your great ideas and I have a woods in the back so I will be sure to incorporate some things back there. Happy Halloween!
Christy says
We do have a lot of decorations…most of it fits in about ten large containers that we store in our attic. It took longer to set it up this year since we were decorating a new place, but at our old house we had most of it up in a day or two. Would you believe I just finished taking it all down? It comes down much faster! Your grandkids are so lucky to have you to do such fun things for them! XOXO
Denise Zdziennicki says
What a fun tour… I’m sure you’re night was a HUGE success! Unfortunately, we don’t get a lot of kids around here anymore so I get stuck eating all the chocolates.
Christy says
I’m glad you enjoyed it, Denise! Halloween was a huge success. Would you believe I actually took everything down already? Always feels good to get packed away! Enjoy that chocolate! XOXO
Ange says
I am speechless! What an amazing job! ❤️❤️❤️
Christy says
Thank you so much, Ange!! It was so fun having a new house to decorate this year! XOXO
