Hello sweet friends! I’m back today to share my brand new Spring 2022 Haul!!
Before I get to sharing all the awesome things I found for this haul, congratulations to Jessica, Theresa, and Patty for winning my Dixie Belle giveaway last week! They have already redeemed their prizes! Thank you to all who entered…I’ll have another one in a couple of months!
Back to my brand new haul!! There’s no doubt that the search is the most fun part. It’s like a huge reward for completing the previous haul! If you’re new around here, welcome to my blog family!! I am so thrilled that you joined us! I like to gather several items and make them over one by one, crossing them off until the entire haul is complete before shopping for the next one.
My newest haul has lots of treasures!
Right?? I’m going to share each piece and what it cost me! All of these items except for two that were given to me were found at thrift stores.
First up is the largest of the bunch, this hutch that I found at the thrift store nearest my house for only $40:
However, because I had a full punch card, I got an additional 20% off taking it to only $32!! Score!
Next up is this metal bread box that my Mom offered me:
Free? Yes, please!
And I couldn’t pass up these lamps for $10 each since there was a set of them and they are so darned pretty:
How about this chair with the claw feet I found for $15?
You really have to see beyond that dreadful upholstery that significantly resembles Berber carpet, but I think it will be beautiful!
Next up is this little silver and basket weave napkin holder:
It was on clearance for $1.98, so in the cart it went!
The next item in my new haul is this night table that I found for $12.75 that I also used a frequent shopper 20% off card on:
I’ve redone a couple of these and they always paint up so nicely, so I couldn’t pass this up for the price! See the last one I did like this HERE.
On that same trip, I also nabbed this small round table for $8 less the 20% discount:
It’s getting harder and harder to find good furniture at decent prices at thrift stores these days, so I have to grab what I can!
Next up is this sweet rocking horse I picked up for $9.98:
There was a time when I would not have paid that much for this, but I’ve done a few rocking horses and I just love them!
On that same trip, I found this lamp also for $9.98:
At the time, I was thinking I could just add a shade and stick it in my booth, but I think I’ll paint it instead!
Next up is this set of similar style baskets that I found at two different stores:
I paid $3.75 for the one on top and $2.95 for the one on the bottom.
Y’all know I can’t resist baskets!
How about this pretty side table I found for $18.75??
I just loved the curves on this one and I also loved the height. It is quite tall for an older piece!
Next up is this little tray I found for $3.75:
Trays usually sell well and I love that this one already had handles as well.
I love when I find plain boxes to redo because the options are endless, and I found three for this haul!
First up is this small box, maybe originally for cigars? It was $3.75:
I also found this one that is a tad larger for $4.75:
It held teas according to the liner that’s inside.
And lastly, I found this pretty flatware box for $2.75, but it was half off!
Now that was a deal, and I just love the curves on this one!
Here’s an interesting piece that I thought I could do something with for $3.75:
I’m not sure what yet, but we’ll see!
I picked up this set of candlesticks for $3.75 each:
I always keep my eyes out for sets of candlesticks since they are quick to paint up and and are usually good sellers.
Speaking of candlesticks, how about the mother of all candlesticks??
These things are huge…maybe two feet tall? They were $5.75 each and will be fun to play with!
Here’s another thing I look out for when I’m thrifting: any kind of decorative box.
These will paint up so nicely. I found these for $8 for both at different stores:
The one on the right looked pretty fancy, but it was actually originally a $5 Dollar General buy lol. It will be gorgeous painted though!
Here’s another chair I couldn’t leave behind for only $6.98!
It really does depend on who is back there in the back with the pricing gun! I love all things cane and the curves on this one were just too pretty to pass up!
No haul would be complete without mirrors, and this time I’ve got two.
First up is this one with all the pretty details that I paid $6.98 for:
And also this one that was marked $12.98 but was 50% off that price:
It’s a dated one for sure, but if you’ve seen the few others I’ve done that were similar, you know that they paint up so pretty!
This next piece was one of my favorite finds at only $6.98:
I love the vintage charm of it and think it will be a fun one to redo!
And last but not least, the best deal of them all!
One of my dear local readers, who is just the sweetest, purchased this dresser here from me, and in exchange for delivering it to her, she said she had a dresser for me.
I was so pleasantly surprised to see this cutie awaiting me when we got there:
I love this style and surely will enjoy giving it a pretty new look! Thank you, Cheryl!
And that’s my new Spring 2022 Haul!
This should keep me busy for a while!
If all these before photos have you wanting to see some afters, here is the biggest haul I’ve ever done!! There’s 38 in all!
See all the before and afters in this huge haul HERE!
I’ll see y’all back here Thursday with the hutch:
Update!! The hutch is done and I can’t wait for you to see it here!!
XOXO,

WOW! What a great haul you have there!! I will be so fun to watch the transformations of all of these beauties! That hutch is amazing, especially for the price you paid for it! I can’t wait to see what you do to it! I am sure it will be beautiful!
Christy says
Thank you, Mary! I’m so excited to have a whole new group to play with! I just had to tackle the hutch first lol! See ya Thursday, my friend! XOXO
Denise Cox says
Can’t wait!! The last chest is so pretty and such a classic. And, I can’t wait to see the “rocky” horse redo. I loved the last one!! You really do have a keen eye for the pieces you select.
Christy says
Thank you so much, Denise! That chest of drawers is beautiful for sure! And you know I had to grab that horse! XOXO
Jeanne says
You should travel north to Brimfield, MA when the large flea market is held (May, July or Sept.). It’s so fun!
Christy says
Oh my goodness, I would absolutely love that! We don’t have flea markets around here! XOXO
Janice Holt says
What a fabulous haul. Can’t wait to see what you do with all of them.
Christy says
Thank you, Janet! Me too! XOXO
Christy says
Ha ha using my microphone… Janice! 😀
Jane says
Amazing! I was born and raised in that area. What thrift stores do you frequent?
Christy says
Thank you, Jane! I am in the Red Mill area of town on the way to Sandbridge, and there are two on General Booth boulevard that I frequent the most…the Goodwill and the DAV. I love all the DAVs! XOXO
Christina says
Wow, what a great haul Christy!!! I’m looking forward to seeing your revamped creations! Congratulations to Jessica, Theresa, and Patty, woo hoo!!
Christy says
Thank you, Christina! I’m excited about this one! XOXO
Gina says
I’m interested to see what you do with that very dated mirror that must have been part of a bedroom suite. I have two just like it!
Christy says
I am drawn to those mirrors for some reason. It was such a weird trend to have two of those mirrors side-by-side on dressers back in the day, but separated, they are fantastic! X
Gail says
Oh. my! If I had the room, that rocking horse would already be sold for me!!!! I can’t wait to see you fimish it!
Christy says
Isn’t that rocking horse fantastic? Even though it was a little more than I would have liked to have paid, I had to grab it! XOXO
Cheryl Atkinson says
Christy!! I need to come there thrifting. What great buys! Our stores are horrible and priced so high. I think it’s hard to find cheap furniture is that everyone is painti g furniture now. Well you got some amazing things for almost nothing. Cant wait to see what you do.
Christy says
Yes…come this way! Although, I thrift a ton, like several times a week while I am on the hunt for my new hauls, and there really was hardly anything. Most things were priced way too high as well! I was very lucky to find the few treasures that I did! XOXO
Carol says
Can’t wait to see what you do to the “dated” mirror. I have two hanging in my bedroom that are part of my bedroom set purchased in 1970.
Christy says
You’re the second person to comment on the mirror, so maybe I’ll do that next? It was such an odd trend to have two mirrors side-by-side on a dresser, but they are lovely separated! XOXO
Robin says
One for the husband & one for the wife if they were getting ready for the day at the same time.
Christy says
Yes! Perfect! 🙂
gwen says
Christy, you find the best things! Looking forward to them all redone!
Christy says
Thank you so much, Gwen! I’m so excited to have a bunch of new things to play with! XOXO
Susan M Van Dyke says
What a great selection. Really excited to see what you do with the sewing chest. I see them all of the time in the thrift stores.
Christy says
Thank you, Susan! I really love that sewing chest! I’m looking forward to working on that one! XOXO
Cindy Jordan says
I have the same chest of drawers and the dresser that matches. They were my husband’s parents, so I’ve been hesitate to do anything to them. Can’t wait to see what you do with yours….I need inspiration
Christy says
I just love that style of furniture… I bet your set is lovely! I’m looking forward to working on that one! XOXO
Amanda says
This looks like a fun haul, I can’t wait to see the transformations! 🙂
Christy says
Yes!! It will be fun to work through! XOXO
Ashley says
Lovely haul, Christy! Looking forward to seeing your creations! ❤️
Christy says
Thank you, Ashley! Maybe I’ll get a chance to use some of those transfers on this round! XOXO
Shirley says
WOW 😯 Christy. I’m drooling and can’t wait to see what you do to transform all those goodies. The Two tall candlesticks are beautiful😍 and the square mirror, Gor-Ge- ous. Ornate gets me every time.
Christy says
Aww thank you, Shirley! I am drawn to all the ornate things too lol! XOXO
Honoré says
Wow! What a great haul. Can’t wait to see what you do with it all. Those altar stick style candle holders are a unicorn for sure!
Christy says
Thank you, Honoré! I love those candlesticks so much, and I thought I came across a third one last week, but it had a large piece broken off, unfortunately. Looking forward to seeing what those become! XOXO
Michele M. says
Oh my word, girl, you hit the motherlode this haul. I cannot WAIT to see what magic you imagine for all these awesome pieces. I do hope you do something simple with those matching baskets and keep them as a set – they look awesome together matching so perfectly, and who doesn’t love a simple stack set of baskets?
As for the prices on your items – wowza. You got some really great quality. I gasped at the hutch price. The leaded glass alone is stunning.
I did go back and see your March 2020 post of the awesome silver metallic night stand you did back then. Gorgeous! Your friend Cheryl gave you one of my favorite style dressers. Oh will that ever be great!
Christy says
Thank you, Michele! I really found some amazing items this round! I’m so excited to work through this bunch. I had to start with the hutch as I love a good hatch makeover! And I’m glad you liked the night table. That’s one of my favorite makeovers… Just love that metallic color! Have a great week! XOXO
Rhonda says
All your make overs are great. So enjoy your creations.
I am interested to know how fast the redo haul items have sold.
Thanks for all the inspiration 😁
Christy says
Thank you so much, Rhonda! I will definitely update everybody when the redone items sell. Nothing has sold yet, but not everything made it straight to my shop when I did them, so we’ll see! Spring slows down for me as people are working on their yards, etc. and business picks up again in the summer! XOXO
Vicki C says
Wow, your thrift store is awesome, don’t find anything like those items at mine and for those prices! Look forward to seeing what you do with them.
Christy says
Thanks, Vicki! When I’m on the hunt for my new haul, I go a lot, like several times a week, and I avoid going on the weekends because things get picked over quickly on the weekends, so I think that definitely helps! This will be a fun group to transform! XOXO
Niki says
Wow…what a haul!! It will be fun to see what you do with everything. I know you will have fun coming up with just the right ideas for it all. Happy Spring Christy!
Christy says
Thank you, Niki! It’s always so exciting to have a bunch of new treasures to play with! Happy spring, my friend! XOXO
Deanna says
Oh my!! What a glorious haul!!! I can’t wait to see what all you do to these fun gems!! The Goodwills where I live in Illinois no longer accept/sell furniture. Bummer!! Now they throw all kinds of “junk” in the area vacated by furniture. And I DO mean junk.
Christy says
Thanks, Deanna! And oh no!! That’s so sad! The Goodwill closest to my house does not have a large space for furniture, so they price it to sell. Unfortunately, it’s mostly junkie furniture, but every once in a while I find something really great like that hutch! XOXO
Marcie Lovett says
Wow, Christy, you did quite well at the thrifts! So much good stuff! I can’t wait to see the cane-back chair and the 2-drawer table, but the truth is I’m excited about seeing all of them after you’ve performed your magic 😁
Christy says
Aww you are the sweetest, Marcie!! I’m really looking forward to this one… Lots of treasures to play with! Have a great week, my friend! XOXO
Dalila says
Nice haul! Can’t wait to see what you do with these pieces.
Christy says
Thank you, Dalila! XOXO
Constance Colvin says
What the what Christy?!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE the thrift store prices there in Virginia Beach! I was born and raised in South Carolina but have lived here in Pacific Palisades (Los Angeles) for years and I love to re-do furniture. Any one of those items in your haul would be four, five, six(?) times more in the thrift shops here! When I go home I always think I should check out some thrifts but what’s the point? I can’t haul good finds all the way back here! Boo hoo! Anyway, I just LOVE your blog and your talent! 😀
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, my friend! Our thrift stores actually used to be priced even better before the pandemic if you can believe that. With furniture, I get lucky with the location closest to my house because they have a very small amount of room for furniture, so they price it to sell. We also have such a large military population moving in and out of the area constantly that people are always getting rid of things, so I guess they like to keep things moving! Too bad you couldn’t take a trailer across the country! XOXO
Kimberly Wollmer says
So exciting! I can’t wait to see what you do with everything!
Christy says
Aww yay!! I’m so excited too!! XOXO
Robin says
A wonderful haul as usual, Christy. What I can’t get over is that it will take you only TWO DAYS to makeover the hutch???? It is such a large piece for sure. Maybe you’ll be using the silk paint? The flatware box was a steal. In my area now they are priced from $6-$12 when you can even find them. Inflation is causing even the thrift stores to price higher than coming out of the pandemic.
Christy says
Thank you, Robin! I already started on the hutch over the weekend lol, and I finished it just in time! It took about four days including all the dry time. And yes…prices have really increased! Although I did find some good deals…I left a ton behind that was just too overpriced! XOXO
Jeannie says
First of all…I wish I could do a haul then shop for more. I have a storage full of things! I try to get through them but sometimes I find deals or people give me free things I can’t say no to. Lol. I’m a sucker for chairs, boxes and jewelry boxes! Can’t wait to see what you do with this haul!!
Christy says
It’s definitely hard to pass up a great deal, especially something free! I would accumulate so many things, that it became overwhelming and I could hardly move in my workspace. I finally put myself on a thrifting diet and worked though what I had. It’s always exciting when I finish a haul and get to shop again! XOXO
Kimberly - KKAbsherWrites says
Wow! Those are some great finds, Christy! 👏
I smiled when I saw the beautiful bow front chest of drawers your reader, Cheryl, gave you. My beloved parents had that beautiful set of furniture. Seeing pieces like that always reminds me of them. It was passed down to my oldest brother who cherishes those pieces.
Can’t wait to see what you do with everything.
Christy says
Thank you, Kimberly! I really love that style of furniture…so classic and elegant! XOXO
Kathy says
Amazing goodies, can’t wait to see them done, you do such awesome makeovers…thanks for always sharing with us!!
Christy says
I appreciate that so much, Kathy! Thank you! I’m excited about this bunch!! XOXO
Susan Odenthal says
Hello Christy, I have been trying to get around to messaging you back. I just read about and looked at your STUNNING new bedroom set. I love it, and I love all the items that you paint, you are so gifted, you make everything and anything look beautiful!!!! I was the one that wanted to deliver to you a dresser to paint. I totally understand that you don’t have time. I have another request, and that is that if you are ever going to sell those lamps in your latest haul, then I absolutely want to buy them from you. I would pay any price for them. I have been looking for lamps and have nothing that I like. Please make a note of my email address in case you do decide to sell them. Again I have to say that I wish SO much that I lived near to you!!! I would absolutely come and visit you, and I would love to watch you paint. You are such a talented artist, there are just no words to express the beauty that you create. I just can’t tell you how much I enjoy all of your emails! They bring me so much pleasure to look at what you have created every time. Take care, and Bless You for your amazing contributions to bringing so much happiness to others!
Kind Regards,
Susan
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Susan! I truly appreciate your kind words! I will likely sell that set of lamps. If you like what I do with them, reach out to me then and we can talk further! Thank you so much for your support and for following along with me!! XOXO
