Amazing friends, you are not going to believe all the goodies I have amassed for this next haul!!
It doesn’t seem like I’ve done a whole lot in the way of hard core thrifting since completing my last haul, but I could not believe all that I had found once I started pulling it all out of the garage!
Here is a look at the whole shebang:
What??? I know, right?
What is most exciting to me about this new haul is that, except for one, these are all new-to-me pieces, unlike my last haul where I had pulled things from the deepest, darkest depths that I had been holding onto for ages. Translation: This one will be SO fun to tackle!!
I found things at thrift stores, estate sales, yard sales, and even had a few items donated by sweet neighbors! I’ve divided them up to share that way!
There’s a lot, so here we go!
Thrift Store Finds
Like I mentioned, I didn’t thrift a whole lot actually, but I had a few good days. I acquired most of my smalls from thrift stores.
First up is this trunk I found for $9.98:
It’s hard to tell scale when you see it alone, but in the photo of everything above, you can see it is a decent size.
On that same trip, I found this spice rack for $3.98:
I always pick those up when I find them since they sell really well.
I also found this cute-as-can-be tree for $4.98:
It doesn’t need much at all!
This mirror was from the same trip also and was $3.98:
Plastic and all, but I love those details!
I nabbed these candlesticks for $9:
They are usually good sellers also!
The next thrift store item I found was this small tray for $2.98:
I picked up this small box on another trip for $4.25:
I usually pick up boxes as they are fun to makeover and they can serve so many purposes!
I also found this pretty clock on that trip for $6.25:
And on that same trip, I picked up this small mirror also for $5.25:
As well as this pair of mirrors for $12:
The rest of the thrift store items are a bit more fuzzy as to what I found together and when, so I’m just going to share them in random order.
I found this basket for half off of $5.25:
This is the only piece I found that was not a new find. This one was hidden in the garage!
This basket was a great find for $3.25, and it is a good size too:
You can see it on the ground in the group photo. I always keep an eye out for baskets!
This one is pretty large too and it was $3.25 also:
This one was more of a good deal than a pretty basket at $2.25, but I thought it was unusual and might paint up cute:
I thought this galvanized metal caddy was cute for $2.25:
The only furniture piece I scored at a thrift store was this antique dresser for $75:
It is literally Falling apart though and none of the drawers work smoothly, but I was just so happy to find something I liked that was furniture!
I loved this small shelf for $6.25:
I found several pieces that will work for a smalls post like this wall hanger thingy for $3.25:
And these frames that I paid $2 a piece for:
And also, this large candle holder for $3.25 with half off that:
These lamps were good deals at $5 for both:
This glass tray was originally priced at $10…no way! I got it for 50% off at $5:
It’s okay, but I know paint will help it a lot!
Same goes for this napkin holder I picked up on clearance for $1.98:
Things like this that have a definite function usually sell.
Here’s more candlesticks! I picked up four of these for $8.25 and I already had one that matched:
I like how chunky they are!
And the final item I thrifted, that I already shared a peek of, is this mirror that I picked up for half off. It ended up being $7.50:
Antique Mall Finds
I scored one item, or should I say a pair of items at our antique mall, this beautiful set of rattan chairs:
Would you believe they were only $60 for the pair?? I couldn’t believe it! They were definitely coming home with me! I usually don’t come across great deals like that there!
Estate Sale Finds
I found a few things at estate sales.
The first is this gorgeous antique table I found for $40:
Estate sales have been priced out of my comfort zone lately also, so I usually don’t stop, but this was on a random Friday morning in a tiny house and nobody was there, so I stopped. Glad I did!
These next items all came from the estate sale of my sister’s husband’s late grandfather.
This dressing table is one of two pieces I bought on the first day. I paid $50 for it:
It’s hard to see, but it needs a lot of TLC.
I also bought this bench for $10:
My sister’s MIL wanted to keep this secretary but asked if I would paint it for her:
I said I would in exchange for this piece that was still there on the final day:
I feel like it could be a pretty versatile piece if the top were removed.
My sister also picked up these frames for me that were left over:
I can always use pretty frames!
Yard Sale Finds
My favorite has always been yard sales. Some of y’all may remember a time many years ago when I would load up the boys every Saturday and head out first thing to hit up as many yard sales as possible. My oldest would usually have something he was on the hunt for and my youngest would be looking for baked goodies for sale!
I don’t go as often as I used to since I’ve been good and try to work through a whole haul before shopping again, but I went out this past weekend and had fun!
I found this basket for a dollar:
At that same sale, I found this thingy for $2:
I just wanted it for the pretty hooks.
At another sale I found a few things I’m keeping as is, but I also found this cutie for a dollar:
I picked up this pretty oak flatware box at a neighbor’s yard sale for $10:
Then, I hit up another yard sale that was at the end of a dirt road in a barn! Heaven!! It had so much old furniture stuffed in there, but much of it was in disrepair. Had I had the room in our garage, I probably would have grabbed a few more things!
First up is this sewing machine table and matching stool that I scored for $20:
It still has the old Singer machine inside, but I thought it would make a sweet petite dressing table?
I also found this lone antique oak mirror for $5:
I picked up this mirror harp for a dollar:
The lady having the sale laughed when I asked her how much (Most things weren’t priced.) because she didn’t think anyone would want to buy it!
I got the same reaction when I asked about this:
It’s a J.P. Coats drawer or crate front. It was a dollar also.
And so was this sad paper towel holder:
I thought it would be a fun challenge to make this one cute!
This bulletin board she had made wasn’t my style at all, but I loved the huge chunky frame for $5:
And finally, this set of lamps was only $10 for the pair:
We don’t really have flea markets around here so I felt like a real picker ha ha! It was fun!
Generous Neighbors
I love when people think of me when they’re purging!
I had two generous neighbors reach out with items they could no longer use.
First is this high-top pedestal table:
It looks pretty heavy as is, but I though paint would lighten the feel of it.
That same sweet neighbor offered me this pretty box metal as well:
I said yes, please!
Another neighbor offered me this wooden cabinet:
It was leftover from their 80’s decor days, but I think it could be really cute with a little creativity!
And that is all! It’s a lot, right??
I figure this should keep me busy until Christmas! I can’t wait to dive right in!
We’ll be bringing Jack home from college this weekend and I’m so excited to have him home! Doesn’t it seem like we just dropped him off??
I’ll be back with my first piece of this new haul for Trash-to-Treasure Tuesday…this mirror harp thingy!
UPDATE: See what this harp became HERE now!
Have a great weekend, friends, and Happy Mother’s Day to those who fill that roll!!
XOXO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!

Betty Bilnoski says
What a great haul! I don’t go out much (rarely ever since 😷) and so I live vicariously through your posts. I love seeing what you do to these treasures. My late Aunt and Uncle had many fabulous furniture pieces, lamps, etc. and I wish we’d been able to keep them all but we just didn’t have room. I’m amazed how often I see something just like theirs show up in your hauls – like the vintage crystal lamp that you shortened and kept in your office. And now those two cane-backed chairs. I can’t wait to see what you do to this current haul.
Christy says
Thank you, Betty! Everything old can be new again for sure! I’ve purged things in the past myself that I wish I had kept. Have a great weekend! XOXO
Linda Dupuis says
You pick up some really great items. Can’t wait to see what you do with them. I have some pieces that are like a couple of yours & I need ideas about finishing them. I’ll be waiting to see yours done.

Lilly Thomas says
So many goodies Christy! I’m probably as excited about this haul as you LOL! I had a chair just like that wicker chair and got rid of it yeaaaaarrrs ago. Now, I wish I still had it. Christy says
Oh I love your excitement, Lilly! I am really looking forward to all the possibilities with all these new pieces! And oh no…that stinks when you get rid of something you wish you’d kept. I’ve been there too! Have a great weekend! XOXO
Jackie C says
Oh! Oh! That mirror and harp!!!
In the frames your sis picked up I spy an OLD Home Interior piece, the one in the back with flowers and the gorgeous carved look frame. Wish I’d kept mine now that we know how to rehab with paint!
Christy says
Yes! That mirror and harp could be a great mate for something or possibly become something else entirely…oh the possibilities! And yes, that frame has great potential! XOXO
Paula@SweetPea says
What a great haul! Looking forward to seeing how you makeover each item.

Thanks, Paula! I really had fun collecting everything but didn’t realize how much I had accumulated in such a short time! Enjoy this pretty weather this weekend, my friend! XOXO
Mary Ann says
I didn’t see the names of the winners for your give away.
Christy says
Hi Mary Ann! At the time I wrote this, I still had one winner that had not responded. They have all responded now, and I will share them on Tuesday! XOXO

This is a GREAT haul! I can’t wait to see your creativity at work. The last mirror in your thrift haul found for $7.50, made me laugh and almost spit my tea… All I can see is a huge mustache. ColleenB.~TX. says
Girl; You really hit the mother load of wonderful treasures.
I’m excited to see what you do with each and every item; especially that mirror.
One thing that I really love is that mirror sitting on your driveway why over to the left hand side. The wooden frame with the beautiful detail on top. That would be perfect sitting on top of a small wooden dresser I have. Been looking for one something along that line for about 5 years now, but so far no such luck. Not giving up looking. (You just need to give closer to me) 🙂
Have a great weekend and enjoy Mother’s Day.
Christy says
Thank you, Colleen! I really did! I really couldn’t believe all I had accumulated in such a short time until I pulled it all out! That mirror is awesome! Hopefully you’ll find one that works soon! Enjoy your weekend too! XOXO

Me too, Maggie! I’m super excited about a whole haul of brand new goodies to work on! That piece is cool and it was free-to-me! The best! XOXO
Sally says
OOHH!! What a haul. Can’t wait to see what you do with each one. Of all those things, I have that little napkin holder. Got it at a thrift store about 4 years ago. This past year, painted it teal and put it on my table with my Rooster salt and pepper shakers.
Christy says
Yes! Lots of things to play with! Had to pick up the napkin holder. I bet yours looks great! XOXO
Jo says
I’m excited to see what you do with those rattan chairs! They’re awesome!!

Christy says
Thank you, Marcie! The harp project is so cute…can’t wait to share! XOXO
Cheryl r Atkinson says
Oh Goodness Christy! What an awesome haul. I have been hitting up estate sales but they are pricey. I have picked up a few things. I am about to have a Saturday thrift day where I hit up as many thrift stores that I can. I live in a huge city and there are alot. The Goodwill stores are just not getting anything good lately. Well I can’t wait to see what all you do.
Christy says
Yes…there’s more here than I thought there was! I find estate sales to be pricey also, hopefully you’ll have some luck thrifting! XOXO
Conna says
Hello Christy!
I think I’m as excited as you are! I am thrilled for you to have found so many beautiful pieces. I love the way you see potential in each item.
As I look around at my own treasures–some of which are crying out for makeovers–I know that you will inspire me.
Best regards,
Conna
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Conna! This will be a fun one to work through! XOXO

Christy says
Thank you so much, Lisa! I’m really excited about this haul! XOXO
Susan says
That sewing machine cabinet is an exact replica of my grandmother’s except that hers has the top split in the center, not off center; and my grandparents special ordered it in Birdseye Tiger Maple, unusual because most of the cabinets were dark. (Yours seems to be a lighter color too.)
It still has the coupon booklet inside, where they made payments on it.
I believe it’s dated circa 1935. I’d have to get it out to check. My mom gave it to me. But I have never before seen a bench that goes with it (or any other sewing machine cabinet)! I wonder if the bench was an optional accessory? Maybe bc times were hard, most people could barely afford the machine, and the bench was considered a luxury?
It’s so cool that you were able to get the matched set. You might be surprised to discover that those old machines are highly prized by quilters and collectors! Since they were so well made, it doesn’t take much to get them tuned up and working like a well oiled machine (haha)!
Interestingly, my grandparents used to refurbish “antiques” like you do! My grandmother was born in 1905, and my grandfather in 1898! They also loved to refurbish old houses! 🏡 🏠
I love the idea, but don’t have the energy to do what it takes! But I enjoy watching you! 😆😁
Christy says
How awesome that you have your grandparents’ table and the payment booklet… that is very cool! I was really excited to find one with the matching stool. There is storage in the seat also. I may remove the machine as it is incredibly heavy, but we’ll see! I’m so glad you enjoy what I share! XOXO
Cathy A Stewart says
Great haul!!
Have you ever painted fabric? Those 2 matching chair cushions would work great. I found a bench that was solid walnut with an ugly greenish velour type fabric and I asked my daughter-in-law if she wanted it. I got a huge NO!! Not wanting to paint the walnut I decided to paint the cushion. It turned out great! My DIL loved it and asked if she could have it. LOL The kids used it all the time and after 5 years it still looks like new.
Christy says
That is so funny that your DIL wanted the bench after all! I haven’t painted fabric, but if this fabric was in good shape, that would be a great idea! It is a bit gross though. I do have an idea for it though! XOXO
Cathy says
Can’t wait to see what you do with the chairs!! But give painting a try! Just use fabric medium in your paint..😁
Christy says
I do have a chair in our bathroom that I plan to paint…if I ever get around to it!
Michele M. says
WOW!!!!! What a haul! Fun learning all about your acquisitions, Christy.
I am really excited anticipating your transformations. They always astound me, time and time and time again. You are SO good at what you do!
Christy says
Aww I appreciate that so much, Michele! This one will be so fun to work through!! XOXO
Kathy from Jax says
WOW! As many of us have said. What a haul. You do this all by yourself? Amazing. You’re going to have so much fun and we’re going to love seeing what you do with all those treasures. I can tell you’ve been “cooped” up for a year. LOL. I wish I lived closer….we’d be thrifting buddies. See you Tuesday.
Christy says
I really am going to have so much fun with this haul, Kathy! I do everything by myself, and I love it all! And yes, it felt so good to get out and shop!! XOXO
Robin says
Quite a diverse selection. I adore those cane chairs. They are a timeless classic. Looking forward to seeing those! I went to an estate sale that was on its 4th run to liquidate. Initially, I did buy items (not to refurbish) & this time I only bought tea towels. But they had a set of adorable petite dining chairs. I don’t need any. It was the last day & they weren’t claimed so I told them to FBMP or Craigslist the set. You would’ve loved them.
Christy says
There is a lot of variety here! And aren’t those chairs fabulous?? I was so surprised to find them priced so cheaply at our antique mall! Sounds like those chairs were cute. I passed on a set of petite dining chairs recently that were only $12 for all four. It was hard, but I knew I was reaching my limit! XOXO
Patty says
Looking forward to seeing your amazing creations, Christy – especially the furniture. I’ve gotten rid of so many good things – if only I had known you then!! 🙂 I’m sure you all will enjoy having Jack back home – even sweet little Lyla!!
Christy says
Thanks, Patty! This will be a fun one! I too think back on things I’ve gotten rid of long ago that would have painted up so cute! And yes…we are really looking forward to having Jack home. Picked him up today! XOO
Karen H says
Great haul, Christy! There’s a few pieces I can’t wait to see how you make them over. I am particularly intrigued with this mirror harp… I just cannot imagine what you could possibly do with it, but I have no doubt you will turn it into something amazing! You always do! xo
Christy says
Aww thank you for having faith in me, Karen! The harp is almost done! See you Tuesday! XOXO
Donna says
Can’t wait to see how you transform all your goodies! Nice haul!
Christy says
Thank you, Donna! Definitely looking forward to this one! XOXO
Veronica says
I have something similar to that mirror harp thing just sitting in my garage. Can’t wait to see what you do with it so I can get some ideas!
Christy says
Oh yay! I think you’ll like what I came up with! XOXO
Sue Mellette says
I think you might need another garage just to store these soon-to-be treasures! What a collection of finds and I know they will receive the very best makeover and move them into the 21st century! Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to see the results! Have a fabulous weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Christy says
Thank you, Sue! Wow, I sure could use another garage lol! Enjoy your day tomorrow! XOXO
Nancy says
Fantastic haul and I can’t wait to see what you do with all of these lovely pieces! I would kill for that black wrought iron and glass tray (well, maybe not kill … maybe just kick a leprechaun) and that yellow trunk would be so perfect in my living room! Maybe it’s a good thing I live on the opposite side of the continent … in another country … 😀
Christy says
Kick a leprechaun? Ha ha! That made made me laugh out loud! That tray was a great find! It will be fun to see what I can do with those pieces! XOXO
Bev says
Not sure but salesmen in the early 20th century had big. Boxes of thread they would take to stores. If rich you could buy these sales boxes.
Excellent quality
The name is maybe from advertisers or one of those thread boxes
Christy says
Oh maybe! That sounds very likely. Thank you for the info! XOXO
susan says
I can’t wait to see what you do with some of that stuff! I’m always telling myself to “think like Christy” when I’m out junkin’ and see stuff
I wouldn’t know what to do with! I thought I was so smart and bought 3 silverware boxes at an auction (keeping yours in mind) and I’m still trying to get the insides out 🤣🤣.
Looks like a great haul!
Christy says
Aww I love that, Susan! And I feel ya…getting those insides out of those boxes is a chore, but because I usually wrap foam core with fabric to cover the tops and bottoms on the insides, so they don’t have to be scraped perfectly clean on those parts! XOXO
Bonnie says
Oh my gosh what a beautiful haul. My fingers would be itching to dive in like a kid at a candy store. That is what I always loved about following you. You have so many items like mine and it gives me inspiration. I usually freak a part here or paint a different color but, the idea is the same. My gosh Jake in college? I remember him as a little boy😥 I will end now so you can get started. Happy Mothers Day my friend.
Christy says
Thank you, Bonnie! I have already started and I know this will be a super fun one!! And yes, first of college done… hard to believe! XOXO
Paula says
What an amazing haul, Christy! I can imagine how excited you were to find all of those varied treasures. Looking forward to seeing you work your magic on them! All the best!
Christy says
I am super excited about this one, Paula! XOXO
Sandy says
I absolutely love following along to see your makeovers and I also remake garage sale finds. You are quite inspiring and full of ideas. I am in love with your style as well. I’ll be waiting eagerly for your up cycle projects for this huge haul!! That mirror harp for $1!! Amazing and the transformation! Beautiful.
Christy says
Thank you so much, Sandy! Making over these forgotten pieces is my favorite…thanks for coming along for the ride!! XOXO
