Hello beautiful friends!!
Today I’m sharing my new haul and y’all, this is the BIGGEST thrifty haul of them all! I have been cleaning, reorganizing, and shopping and I have lots to share! Some I pulled from the depths of my storage room, some were still hanging around the garage, and I treated myself to several leisurely thrifting stops as well!
I cannot wait to get started!!
Let’s dive in!
Here is everything in this huge haul:
I didn’t even organize it in a pretty manner this time for the photos because there was so much, but let’s see what is in this pile, shall we?
I’ll start with several things I still had in my storage room.
First up is this metal wall art that I picked up at a yard sale several years ago for $5:
Talk about a steal! I actually bought a set of three of them. I painted one to hang in our old house; I gave one to my old neighbor; and this is the final one that has just been hanging around taking up space!
This next item was also one of three that I purchased for a mere $3.49 each:
I assume they were previously headboards, but I turned the first two into signs HERE and HERE. I found these several years ago and two of them made the move to our new home with us. This is the only one left.
Up next is this cabinet door that came out of our kitchen when we updated it and had to remove a cabinet:
The hoarder in me figured I could eventually use it for something!
Also hanging out in my storage room was this cute mirror I picked up for $6.25:
I’m always on the lookout for mirrors because they are usually good sellers, and this one is super cute!
This next item also moved with us from the old house. I picked it up in case I came across a child’s table or desk to pair it with, but it is too tall for the only kids’ table I’ve found, so it will be painted solo:
I believe I paid $5 for it, but it’s been a while so my memory may be foggy on that one.
Here is another mirror from my storage room:
As you can see, it was $24.92. I paid more than I usually would, but I had plans to use it in our current home. I ended up finding one I liked better, so this one was stuck in the storage room.
Here is another item I have had since our hold house:
I found this on a FB yard sale page for $15. It’s missing some veneer on top and so it has just sat…not anymore!
This boring mirror also came from the old house with us:
It came with this dresser that Jack and I worked on together. The dresser was only $30 and this seemed oversized for the dresser, so we left it off. I was tempted to donate it, but the mirror has a nice beveled edge, so I decided I would see what paint could do for it.
This rocker has also been hanging around my storage room for far too long:
It was only $19.95 at the thrift store and it has a super cute shape to it…might be cute for a nursery?
Here’s another storage room find:
This was $9.95 at the thrift store, but I thought it was well worth that for the weight of it and all the detail.
And the final item I pulled from my storage room is this table:
I paid $19.95 for it at the thrift store and it has been holding my lamp in there for ages. Time to get it out of there!
Now let’s see what I pulled from the garage!
I have been really good about trying to keep the garage as cleared as possible, but there are few things that have been hanging out in there for a while.
First is this twin headboard and footboard that I found a couple of Summers ago at a yard sale for $10
A bed offers so many possibilities!
I also had this unfinished wood cabinet out there:
My dad used to build small furniture pieces back in the day and my mom would paint them. They did several craft markets a year. This was one of the cabinets they had left over and they offered it to me. I actually just remembered that I still have a couple of tables up on top of a storage cabinet in the garage that he made. I’ll have to tackle those next time!
My dad also asked if I wanted these extra four doors:
Sure thing! I’ll do something with them!
And the last thing I pulled from the garage was this set of chairs:
You may remember I redid two just like it HERE this Summer. These once belonged to my mom and then I used them for years. I eventually sold them along with a table to one of my besties. She used them for years before deciding she no longer needed them and offered them back to me. So they will be happy to find their way out of the garage, I’m sure.
And now for the fun part…the goodies I found thrifting!
Finding furniture has been challenging lately, but I have found a few smaller things.
I scored this table for only $15.25:
It is in great condition and it will paint up so cute!
I also found this secretary/dresser:
It was originally priced at $49, but that was too much for me. When I stopped in again a week later, it was marked down to $34.95. More my price!
It has its issues, but hopefully they will be easily remedied.
Then I had a run on cheap chairs. I found this little chair just last week for $5:
I loved the shape of it!
I also found this cute chair at the same Goodwill where I found the table:
Isn’t it cute?? It was also only $5.
Then I came across a pair of these for $6.25 each:
I only picked up one as the other wasn’t in as good condition. I also had a full punch card that got me an additional 20% off woohoo!
I found this bench on the same stop. It was $12 with an extra 20% off:
And the last piece of furniture I found was this desk for $19.95:
The top is a hot mess, but nothing that can’t be sanded away.
I did find lots of non-furniture treasures!
First, I picked up this little case for $8.25:
That is kind of steep, but I loved it so I bought it! I originally thought I could just put it in my booth as is, but then I had another idea.
I also found this cute magazine rack for $6.98:
That was also pricey in my opinion, but I liked the shape of it.
This little box wasn’t too bad for $2.25:
I’m sure it was once part of a canister set.
I loved this rocking horse I picked up for $3.25:
That was well worth it!
I almost always find a few frames when thrifting. I found these at two different stores:
I paid $7 for both. Things just aren’t priced as cheap as they once were at my favorite Goodwill, but these will paint up cute.
I often find lamps also.
I picked up these two on the same day:
The smaller one was $5.25, and the larger of the two was $6.25.
This clock was a great find, even at $8, since I used my punch card coupon on this too, but the finish on it looked yellowed and dirty:
A fresh coat of paint will fix it right up!
I’m always drawn to anything made of wood. This little chest wasn’t bad for $4.25 (also with an extra 20%off):
The knobs do look like a face though lol.
Check out this gorgeous frame I scored for $4.25:
I’ve never seen a 3-D frame like this and with so much ornately carved detail.
This was just a simple mirror but too good to pass up for $4.25:
I also thought this simple wooden tray wasn’t too bad for $3.25:
Lot’s of possibilities with this one!
There haven’t been many yard sales to visit lately with the threat of this virus, but I actually stopped at one last weekend and picked up this basket for $1:
It looks like one of those baskets that was part of a gift basket at one time, but it should paint up nicely. Oh how I’ve missed yard saling!
This metal thing was kind of cool for $6.25 :
It would be cute above a doorway.
This sign wasn’t a bad deal at $3.25:
It has some pretty detail that will be pretty painted.
I thought this huge basket was a deal at $6.25:
I have a plan for this one already!
And finally, my sister was going to toss this cabinet she removed from her bathroom wall:
Of course, I took it off her hands real quick!
And that, my dear friends, is my biggest haul of them all!!
I cannot wait to barrel my way through these makeovers! I’m even more excited to have lots of new inventory for my booth!
But first, I will return on Thursday with a tour of my Halloween decor!
I know Halloween isn’t for everyone, but we really do it up around here, and I think you’ll enjoy it even if Halloween isn’t your thang!
UPDATE: See my Halloween Tour inside and out HERE now!
OR, you can skip to my first makeover from this batch HERE! It’s a good one! 🙂
See ya then!
XOXO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!

It really is a big haul ha ha! I am excited to dive in!! XOXO
Sheila DelCharco says
Wow that’s quite the haul! I’ve gotta ask…are your storage areas empty now??
Christy says
Yes it is quite the haul lol! My storage room now only has one lone shelving unit with items on it, mostly smaller things, lamps, and a few things I use for staging. I am trying to not have a big stash that gets ignored, but rather collect, redo all those items, and then shop for more! XOXO
Cecilia from Georgia says
OMG!! What a load of treasures! I can’t wait to see every one of them after you perform your magic 🙂 I love chairs but don’t sell single ones very well. However, I still can’t pass up a deal on a lone chair!! Happy Halloween to y’all!
Christy says
Right?? This is a big one!! I don’t do too badly with lone chairs, but I do try to pair them up with something when I can! Happy Halloween!! XOXO
ColleenB.~Tx. says

You have got to be the luckiest person in finding such great items

Thank you, Colleen! When I’m on the hunt for items, I thrift a LOT lol. Many of those things came out of the big carts they had just rolled onto the floor! XOXO
Gwen says
I did that at our Salvation Army store last week!
Christy says
Yes! That’s when you get the good stuff!! 😀
Christina says
Holy smokes what a haul! Ginormous! I can’t wait to see your Halloween decor and what you do with all these pieces. Honestly, I would have passed many of these by in a store. YOU have vision and turn these into gems. I can’t wait! 🙂
Christy says
Right?? I am so excited to dive into it! I wasn’t sure I would share my Halloween this year, but it just wouldn’t be Halloween around here if I didn’t share a bit of it ha ha! And thank you…let’s hope I can work magic on all of these items! XOXO
Janice Holt says
Wow what a haul. Can’t wait to see what magic you work on them. I wondered if you decorated for Halloween and always enjoy seeing your decorations. I’ve told so many people about it. It’s the best I’ve ever seen.
Christy says
Thank you so much, Janice! I do love Halloween and look forward to decorating every year! Not a whole lot has changed with my decor, but my neighbors get a kick out of it, so that makes it really fun for me! XOXO
Denise Cox says
Goodness!! What
glorious goodies!! I’m soooo excited I can hardly stand it… 😝. Oh how I wish I lived closer as I love most of them… especially the rocky horse and the wood /wire wall piece. But I also love the tables… and more.. 🙃. What a great Halloween treat to look forward to. Sure wish you did mail order… Have been looking for the “right” rocking horse for several years… even on QVC. But, I didn’t want a large one.
Thanks, Christy.. Happy Halloween… 🦇🎃👻….
Christy says
Thank you, Denise! This is definitely the biggest gathering of thrifty treasures I’ve ever set out to tackle! Isn’t the horse so cute?? I grabbed that one quick! See ya Thursday! XOXO

Norma Jean says
The arched metal wall art, would you post what you did with those (the two you gave away). I find them all the tome and just can’t decide what to do with them.
Christy says
Hi Norma Jean! I painted that arched metal art and hung a wreath on it. I can’t find the original post where I painted it for some reason, but you can see it a super old Christmas home tour of our old house here if you like: https://www.confessionsofaserialdiyer.com/christmas-home-tour-2015/ I had it hanging at the bottom of the stairs. My neighbor wanted the other one as is, so I didn’t do anything with that one. XOXO
Phyllis says
Excited to see what you do with your latest haul. These pieces will look great with your magic touch.
Christy says

Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Kim!! I am really excited to get going on this bunch! XOXO
Susan Williams says
WoW!! Great haul! I am anxious to see what you do with the clock. I have the exact same clock (purchased at Hobby Lobby) on my bedroom wall and I am bummed because the clock hands are the same color as the background making it impossible to read in the dark. I always wanted to do something to it. Cant wait to see what you do with it. Also, the drop leaf table. I have one begging to be changed. Thanks for sharing!
Christy says
Thank you, Susan! I love the face of that clock, so I know some paint will fix it right up. I wonder if you can paint the hands white? Hmmm I’ll need to see how hard it is to remove the face. And I believe I’m going to start with that table woohoo! XOXO
Wendy says
Your gonna have so much fun remaking these pieces Christy. Have a Great and Safe Day.
Christy says
I sure will! Thank you, Wendy! You too! XOXO

Deanna says
Wow! What a haul y’all! You are going to be one very busy lady with all this! Can’t wait!!!! (I’ve noticed our Goodwill’s In Illinois are now pricing things much higher too).
Christy says
I am going to super busy, but I am so excited to have a brand new haul of goodies to keep me busy! And yes…a year ago I would have passed on some of these items at these prices, but I guess that’s how it is now! XOXO
gwen says
Well Christy, I just got up with my coffee and I’m exhausted already just LOOKING at your haul! I think you should ask us what we’d like to see done first! Then again, not sure I could choose just ONE! I’m looking forward to each and every piece redone!
Christy says
Oh ha ha! I usually do ask what ya’ll want to see done first, but there is just so much to choose from lol. I’ll be starting with the drop leaf table! XOXO
Deborah says

Carolyn says
HOLY MOLY!! You have plenty to do this winter if you get snowed in there in VA … Which I realize is very unlikely. I used to live in Newport News, not far from your location.
Oh those projects make me tired, Christy! LOL.
I thought this was the James’ haunted house reveal! Cannot wait!
Christy says
Holy Moly is right lol! This haul should last me a while…I’m like a squirrel preparing for winter ha ha!! And yep, NN is only about an hour from me! XOXO

Nice haul…..that should keep you busy for awhile. It will be fun to see you plow through it all. I like the metal arch thing…..mmmm I could use that!!!
I was struck by the fact that you are wearing shorts!!!! We went down to
22 degrees last night!!! Yep!!! in Arizona!!! The mountains of AZ that is.
It is 11 AM now and it is only 43 degrees….not shorts weather!!!…xoxo
Christy says
Yes, this should easily last me all winter! And funny…we had one unseasonably warm day and that happened to be the day I took these photos. It has been mostly in the upper sixties here though which is about right for us this time of year. 20’s?? No thanks ha ha! You stay bundled!! XOXO
Rose says
You are gonna be busy! Rocking horse floor lamp???? Hmmm?
Christy says
Yes I am! Hmmm…rocking horse floor lamp? I like it!! XOXO

Maybe? 🙂
karine says

Kathy W F says
I absolutely love it when you show off all your new treasures. My sister and I love thrifting so I feel your excitement. You found some great stuff and with the holidays coming up you better get busy filling up your booth! Can’t wait to see how everything turns out. I’m looking forward to the Halloween event. It brings back of so many of my childhood memories. I’ll be back on Tuesday to see it all.
Christy says
Oh yay!! It is very exciting indeed!! And yes, it will give me lots of goodies for the holidays for my booth! I’ll see ya Thursday! XOXO
Robin says
Really like that rounded case – it’s unusual. And your baskets – what a steal!!! Overall, your haul is well thought out (as usual). I, too, have found that thrift stores (nonprofit and for profit) have all raised prices in the wake of Covid-19. Seems that they shouldn’t have to because supposedly everyone that hunkered down at home had time to think and divest/purge. Will you be experimenting with a different pop of color this season?
Christy says
Thanks, Robin! I am really excited about some of these pieces! And yes, what’s with the thrift stores raising their prices? I know they end up with the leftovers from many a yard sale, and maybe with yard sales down, so are donations? I was thinking like you that with everyone stuck at home, lots of purging was going on. Oh well. There are a few new colors I want to play with and some of the smaller pieces are the perfect candidates to test them out on! XOXO
Mariele Storm says
Huge haul!! I can’t wait to see what you do with everything. 😀
I just wanted to say that I am not a Halloween person at all (I only put out two mini skeletons for the week of, and have been planning for Christmas all October, lol), but I look forward to your Halloween tour every year. 🙂 Especially the way you pose the funny skeletons. Please don’t stop sharing them as long as you’re doing them! <3
Christy says
I just kept adding things to the pile ha ha! And thank you so much, Mariele! That means a lot! Have a great weekend!!
Becky says
WoW! Go Christy, go!!! 😊 This will be so fun to watch!
Christy says
Thank you for the encouragement, Becky! I might need it again halfway through ha ha! XOXO
Sherry Stuifbergen says
The frame for $4.25, how big is the opening? Looking for 10×12 frame. Would you sell it to me (as is)….paying postage for it? I know you do not do business like that but I cannot patronize your booth. Just asking…..Sherry
Christy says
Hi Sherry! It is 8X10 with no glass, but I think that one is going to be a keeper! XOXO
Amy says
I used to wonder why little kids liked those “unboxing” videos, but I enjoy seeing others’ thrift shop and yard sale hauls, so I guess I understand. Where are you going to keep it all? We earned enough last year buying & selling to buy me a little shed, but it is going to be hard to keep from filling it right up!
Christy says
Ha ha yes! I have learned that if I don’t want to forget what I have, to just keep it front and center in a neat stack as I work through each piece. That neat stack is huge, but it lives right in my garage where I can see it. That has stopped me from thrifting past capacity too lol! Congratulations on a successful year! XOXO
