Hello amazing friends and welcome to the Shop my own Garage Haul tour! I haven’t thrifted in over a month, so putting together my newest haul would seem like a challenge for some….luckily, not for me! I found all kinds of goodies in our garage! Today I’m going to share each piece with you!
First, meet my new haul:
I’ll start with one of the few recent thrift store finds, and by recent, I mean March 3rd. I found this table at the GoodWill priced at $28.25:
It had gorgeous detail and I knew it would be a quick job. I also had a punch card that was full, so I saved 20% making it just under $22 before tax!
Next up is this piece that I found while thrifting with Nancy the following week, just days before this all went down:
I thought at the very least, it might make for a pretty floral arrangement. I paid $3.98 for it.
I also found this set of metal wall art for $3.25 for the set on that same trip:
As well as this sweet angel for $1.98:
I found a lot of small things that day…including this frame that was 50% off of $4.25:
Another piece I found on that trip is this fancy box that I paid a little more than I wanted to at $9.98:
And finally, the last piece I’m sharing from that trip is this lamp I picked up for $4.98:
I’ll probably combine a few of these into one post! And I’m working on a new thrifting video from that trip this week, so we’ll have that to share hopefully next week!
In February, I found these trays for a steal at $5.25 for all three:
On that same trip, I also picked up this bench for 50% off of $10.25:
Yep, $5!!
Earlier this year, I also picked up these framed prints, originally from Kirklands:
The thrift store was originally trying to get $14.98 a piece for them but they were 50% off. I actually like the artwork in these ones!
This next piece has been hanging around since the Fall:
It was $4.98 and I thought it could benefit from just a simple paint job.
This mirror originally came with this dresser, but I didn’t think it did the dresser any favors.
I almost let my hubby trash it, but of course, I just could not let it go and so here it is. We’ll see what magic I can work on it, because it definitely needs some magic!
Now for a few pieces that were free-to-me!
Up first is this mirror that my sweet reader, Dianne, who lives locally contacted me about, asking if I was interested in taking it off her hands:
I believe it came with a dresser she bought to paint and she did not need the mirror. I quite liked the shape of it, so I went and picked it up.
When I got there, she had a few more pieces that she thought I might be interested in including this sofa table:
And also this bench:
Thanks so much, Dianne! I hope I do them proud!
Another piece that was given to me is this small sideboard type table:
My beautiful friend, Christa, who’s whitewashed cabinet I redid and shared HERE brought me this when she dropped off the piece she wanted painted.
This next piece is a piece that I redid several years ago for the entry area of our old house:
I had put it in my booth since it never found a place in our new house, but it just sat and sat. It has a chip out of the wood on the top at the back, so I don’t know if that stopped it from selling, but I figured I’d bring it home and give it a do-over anyway. I removed the fabric on one panel and that is as far as I got. It ended up buried in the garage.
And finally, I grabbed a few frames from my storage room:
I paid $18 for all four combined. They’ll probably become chalkboards, but I knew that adding them to this pile ensures I’ll get them done!
And that’s my new haul, y’all!!
Before I get started though, I am finally doing something with this gorgeous table that used to sit on my side of the bed:
UPDATE: No need to come back! See how this pretty lady looks now HERE!
As lovely as it is in its original finish, it doesn’t go with a thing in our house!
Have a great weekend and continue to stay safe, friends!
XOXO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!

Thank you, Karen! Often when I am stumped for an idea, I just start painting and then the ideas come. It’s awesome that you are taking advantage of this time to get things done around your farm! XOXO

Oh how fun, I am so happy you had a back up stash to work on!!! This world doesn’t feel normal right now and I am so happy for at least 2 days in each week I get to get up with my coffee and see what you have recreated on those two days, thanks for keeping that normal!!!
Christy says
Yes, Ma’am!! And I have a backup to the backup ha ha! But I might be in trouble after that. I am so happy that I can help you retain some normalcy by still showing up in your inbox. Believe me, it is helping me too! Have a great weekend! XOXO
Sheila DelCharco says
That’s an impressive haul considering you didn’t go thrifting anywhere! Can’t wait to see what magic you work!
Christy says
Right? When it pays to be a hoarder!! H ha! XOXO
Anne Whitney says
You are truly amazing. How do you come up with ideas? You take “ junk” and turn it into jewels. Can’t wait to see the transformations!
Christy says
Aww thank you, Anne! I usually have an idea for something when I first see it, but other times it takes a minute for inspiration to strike! XOXO
Janice Holt says
And I was worried you wouldn’t have anything to show us; boy was I wrong. Look forward to all of them. Stay safe and healthy.
Christy says
Ha ha, nope…I’m ready to go! Enjoy your weekend! XOXO

Christy says
Ha ha it’s called precision stacking lol. I am excited to get started! XOXO

That metal toleware bucket that hangs on the wall is similar to one we own. you thought you might put a floral in it. we use ours by the door for the dog leash and baggies, etc. I just this minute scrolled thru my pinterest board of DIY furniture redos and the French script demilune table you used in the foyer of your former home was on that board!
Christy says
Ooh great idea for the hanging painted bucket! And funny about the table…that was a lot of years ago ha ha! XOXO

Oh my gosh! I have that same sideboard in my garage right now. I can’t wait to see what you do to it. I plan to sand the top today – it’s a hot mess! Thinking about changing out the hardware. I am not a fan of that style and they just seem to take it over on this piece. What are your thoughts on that? Thanks for any input!
Christy says
Oh funny! I don’t care for the hardware either, so that will definitely go. Other than that, I’m not sure where this one is headed, but it will be fun to see! I love that piece! XPXP
Lyn Allan says
What a great collection of items, Christy! And; you were able to shop your stash to gather it too. When it’s all done and can go into your booth, you’ll notice more space, I imagine. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with it all.
Christy says
Thanks, Lyn! My garage stash is shrinking for sure with pieces continually moving out, but nothing coming in. I have to admit, it is kind of nice and I know my Hubby is loving that! XOXO
Cecilia from Georgia says
I can’t wait to see what you do with everything!! You really scored big on every piece. I love the last piece! Kind of Frenchy. How do you keep your grout so white? Be safe and healthy! XOXO
Christy says
Thanks, Cecilia…me too! I am excited to start a new batch of goodies! I used Hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to clean our grout and luckily, it has stayed nice! It doesn’t look quite as clean near the sink and stove area though! XOXO
Linda says
I can’t wait to see what you do with that long sofa table! I have an oak one just like it that I’ve been trying to get up the nerve to paint! Maybe seeing yours done will inspire me! I love your blog,
Linda
Christy says
Thank you, Linda! That will be a fun one to redo. I’ll try to get to it quickly! XOXO
p says
So many great finds- even if they were in your garage 😉
Cant wait to see….

Christy says
Thanks, P! Honestly, I’m glad to finally be giving some of these items some love! XOXO
Shirley says
Can’t wait to see the transformations of each piece. One request: Please do at least one with stripes on white. Love 💕 it when you do stripes.
Christy says
Oh Yay!! You got it…stripes are my favorite!! XOXO
Lizzy says
Nice haul!
Christy says
Thanks, Lizzy! I can’t wait to get started! XOXO
Carol Bisson says
Wow! I can’t wait to see all your makeovers.
Christy says
Thanks, Carol! Me too ha ha! XOXO
Mary Loveland says
Oh gosh be gentle with that beautiful table! I really can’t believe the detail on that beauty!
Christy says
I was afraid to take a brush to this one, but it is looking so good!! XOXO
Marcie Lovett says
I know you’ll work magic on all of them, Christy, but that $5 vanity bench! Can’t wait to see that one. And Diane’s mirror – such a beauty. What a generous offer on her part. If I lived near you, I’d know what to do with all the “someday” projects I’ll never get to 😂
While you’re looking forward to more space in the garage, I’ll be looking forward to seeing all of these turn into treasures.
Christy says
Thank you, Marcie! I’m excited to get started! Dianne was very generous indeed. And that bench had the whole set that went to it, but it was a mess like it had been left outside in the rain…some of the drawers wouldn’t even fit back inside the dresser. And I really am looking forward to all the space in the garage…just in time for the stores to open again so I can buy more ha ha! XOXO
Robin says
I think where you live gives you & Nancy the ‘edge’ in thrifting and finding great deals and interesting pieces.
Maybe the fabric inlay (of the white entry table) was a distraction to buyers?
Am looking forward to the redo of your bedside table as well as the floral metal art.
Christy says
We do have a ton of thrift stores in our area and we are so grateful for that! That table also had a small chunk taken out of the top at the back where it looked like something fell on it, but it could have been the fabric too. It will be fun to reimagine it! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! XOXO
Robyn D Wright says
You don’t need to thrift! (I get it though…I miss thrifting.) These pieces are gorgeous! I can ‘t wait to see their transformation!
Christy says
Ha ha I know…some of these pieces have waited too long for their makeovers, so this was a blessing in disguise! I do miss thrifting though…it is my retail therapy! Luckily, I’ll have plenty of space to fill back up when this is all over lol! XOXO
ROSE LEFEBVRE says
Looking forward to seeing all the future makeovers.
Christy says
Thanks, Rose! Some of these have been waiting a while so I’m glad to see them finally get their turn! XOXO
