Happy Wednesday, awesome friends! I sure missed y’all yesterday! I mentioned on Thursday that I would be posting a day later this week to join with some amazing bloggers today for a fun Summer wreath hop hosted by one of my favorite blogger friends, Krista from The Happy Housie!
It has been a while since I made a wreath for my front door, and I had fun with this one.
I usually try to find an old wreath at the thrift store for cheap that I can reuse just to save a few dollars because you know…I’m cheap, and I found just the one on clearance for $1.98:
In all its Fall glory it was.
Well good bye Fall, hello Summer!
Better, no?
This wreath cost around $30 to make and all of my florals came from Michaels.
And of course I’m going to share how easily this wreath came together!
I chose to stick with a variety of white blooms for my wreath this time. Here is what I used:
The first thing I did was strip the Fall flair from my wreath…
Then I started with the greenery stems. (I used two of them.) I cut them in smaller pieces to make them easier to add to the wreath, and then I just tucked them in place:
I did the same thing going in the opposite direction and then added the large white bloom in the center:
I trimmed the stem down to about six inches and bent it down so I could tuck it into the wreath securely.
Next I added mini roses from the small bouquet of them I found at Michaels:
I followed with the smallest white flowers (I used two bunches of those), cut into small pieces…
And finally, I added some of these guys that I already had in my stash to finish off this wreath:
And that’s it!
You could hot glue everything in place if you wanted to, but there was really no need since all my stems fit snuggly in place.
I have it hanging on the glass with a command hook.
I chose the simple green and white color palette to blend with our porch…
And beyond the bench around the corner on our side porch, you may remember these pieces from our old outdoor set that I redid for this space last month:
You can see how I redid that set HERE if you missed it. (Those are super EASY DIY covers!)
Now it all coordinates!
I love making wreaths that have all the goods to one side…you don’t have to worry about it being even on both sides.
Not too hard at all, right?

Very pretty! I learned the asymmetric style from you & do all my wreaths that now????. I keep a few grapevine wreaths around from the thrift store & faux flowers & greenery I pick up on sale @ Michaels. Have made several for gifts & they always are a big hit. I always have a wreath on the front door & one in the living room that I hang on the mirror. So much fun to change them for the seasons. Thanks Christy!???? XO, Linda

I love the simple white and greenery. I need a new look for my front door to coordinate with the bright yellow chair that I just repainted (see yesterday’s post). This has got me thinking.

Thanks, MaryJean! Your chair turned out super cute! XOXO

Thanks, Christy!

Your wreath caught my eye. It’s beautiful! I have 2 or 3 grapevine wreaths laying around. One is a ‘double’. I couldn’t get to Hobby Lobby before it closed tonight so I went to Wal-Mart. I couldn’t get the exact kind of white flowers you did but some I think will work. Tomorrow I’m going to try my best at duplicating what you did. Wish me luck, I’ve not got the best ‘eye’ when it comes to this….lol!
Christy says
Thank you, Lugenia! I love that you are feeling inspired to create one as well…I bet it will be beautiful! XO
Myrna says
What a transformation ! I love it.
Anyone sprucing up old vine wreaths should consider spraying them with some clear paint/varnish. I have seen wood beetles in them coming new from the store, never mind GW.
Since you have such a beautiful door, you might want to glue a piece of felt on the back at the bottom.
Christy says
Thank you, Myrna! And thanks for the great tips! XO
Danielle says
What an amazing transformation. I love the white flowers and greenery, it’s so fresh!
Christy says
Thank you, Danielle! XO
Jo-Anna says
This is a beautiful wreath…I LOVE that you bought the base from a thrift store…this is the best kind of repurpose!
Christy says
Thank you, Jo-Anna! I can usually find out-of-season wreaths for pretty cheap at the thrift store, so I start there. I got lucky this time! 🙂
Julie Briones says
Love it, Christy… yours and Nancy’s… of course, y’all always make me ‘happy-sigh’! Hugs, friend!
