Another Fun Place Card Idea!

Hello there! By now most of ya'll know I have a thang for entertaining my Holiday dinner guests with fun place cards. Just the other day, along with 14 other inexpensive Holiday Ideas, I shared this favorite of mine: Those were from 2013. They were a huge hit AND they cost me hardly anything to make! Today I'm sharing what I did to my dinner guests last Christmas! (I couldn't post about it then because I would ruin the surprise for my guests!) Instead of turning them into Santa's … [Read more...]

What Today is and my Next DIY Adventure

Welcome my sweet Friends! Do you know what today is? It's my birthday yippee! Do you know what month usually boasts the most births in the United States? No not September, it's August, but pretty close! In my family, September is by far the busiest month for birthdays with me, my son, my sister, my dad, My grandfather (resting in peace now), my niece, and two nephews. Anyway I wanted to put something fun together for my birthday, but I am way more excited about my next DIY adventure, so since … [Read more...]

Fun Christmas Place Cards

Have I got a super fun place card holder idea for your Christmas table today! Every year I host my family for Christmas Eve Dinner, and I always try to come up with a fun way to mark each person's place at the table. This idea is what I did last year, but of course I couldn't blog about it because I like my family to be surprised when they see what I've come up with! Are you ready? Drumroll...I made us all Santa's little helpers! How fun is that? Just look at my Hubby in his cute … [Read more...]

What I Brought Home from Lucketts

Probably like most, I've heard quite a bit about The Old Lucketts Store from Marian of Miss Mustard Seed. When she started blogging about getting ready for her annual trip to Lucketts  Spring Market a few weeks ago, I thought it would be great if I could actually go.  As a mom to a toddler, you can't just make those decisions on the fly. Especially when Lucketts is four hours from your front door. Then Funky Junk Donna announced she was coming too.  Okay now this was serious! I love me some … [Read more...]

Kids Say the Darndest Things

Even at 10 years old, my son still comes up with things that crack me up. The other night at dinner, we were talking about the upcoming Superbowl. If you don't follow football, its down to the 49ers and the Ravens.  Both teams'  head coaches are brothers. We were talking about how it would be harder to enjoy the win if it were against your brother.  After much consideration,  my beautiful, very smart son says. "Well, technically if they share a room, they can share the trophy!"  He was so … [Read more...]

Townsfolk of Christmas Towne are Missing!

I am about to start packing up my Christmas Towne but before I do I thought I would share what the townsfolk have been up to or rather the journey they took to Brennanville.  That would be the town in which my two year-old, Brennan is the Mayor. First, here is a look at the very snowy but peaceful Christmas Towne.         Ok so life is pretty good in Christmas Towne. But quite often the townsfolk mysteriously disappear... ...to … [Read more...]

A Man and His Possessions

That's right, all two of them.  When my beloved husband and I married, we both owned homes of our own. We decided to sell mine since his was bigger.  He had actually done a fantastic job of decorating his house...or so I thought.  It soon came to light that his mama was the genius behind the decor.  Although it was very nice, even impressive  (for a single male), it was a bit too masculine for my taste so when I took over  moved into his castle, he had two requests: Don't touch my … [Read more...]

There’s a fake-pumpkin-eating bandit on the loose!

Someone has been up to no good around my house!  It's just before Thanksgiving and since I am hosting it this year,  I don't feel like I can get out my Christmas flare...just yet. So, I still have my little fake pumpkins here and there. What you don't see may surprise you. See these cute little fake pumpkins?    They have all been assaulted by my two year old, he's the  fake-pumpkin-eating bandit!    He just loves apples and he still hasn't gotten the message that these are NOT apples … [Read more...]
