The first day of Fall is in two days…come on, Fall…I’m ready! I’ve got my mantel all decked out to welcome you!
I am excited to be a part of a fun Fall tour with some of my favorite blogging friends this week, and I’m participating today with my mantel!
Come on in…
I decided to use last year’s Fall wreath on my mantel this year instead of on my front door:
I love this neutral color combination for Fall.
Remember my mini pumpkin garland I had on my hutch? I switched up the ivory letters for these chalkboard banner pieces for my mantel.
I love it both ways.
(If you’re in the market to cover an armless accent chair, I share how I covered the one above here.)
The grapevine pumpkin was a clearance purchase from Walmart a few years ago. It had an orange flower pick on the top, but I removed it. The pumpkins were spray painted…
The arrangements on either side were thrown together for about $6 each with stems from Michaels.
Here’s what I used to make them:
I still haven’t trimmed out the fireplace since installing my hardwood floors several months ago oopsie. #nofun #wouldonlytake15minutes #it’llbedonebyChristmas #Ipromise
So there’s my Fall mantel! I’ve shared every season but Fall, so now my set is complete. 🙂
Here’s another Fall project I shared recently that you might like if you missed it. I turned an old lantern into my new Fall centerpiece:
And here’s a peek at my mini pumpkin garland on my Fall hutch:
And my most recent addition to my Fall décor this year, this Reclaimed Wood Crate made from old fencing and a chair spindle:
Ready for more inspiration for your Fall mantel?
Check out what my friends are sharing today! Then come back all week for more Fall fun!

Christy K. James says
Aww thank you thank you thank you, Jeannie! You are in luck…I wrote all about that window back in March. You can see it here: https://www.confessionsofaserialdiyer.com/one-more-use-for-an-old-window/ Thanks so much for following along with me! 🙂

I love how the wreath has the old window for a backdrop and the garland is too cute.
Christy K. James says
Thanks so much, Kim! I tried replacing that old window with a mirror, but I just couldn’t do it. 🙂

Thanks, Angie! 🙂
Shannon says
I love your wreath and what it’s hanging on? An old window with a tin screen? Whatever it is, I ADORE it!!!! Everything looks beautiful.
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Shannon! That was an old window that was decked out with clamshells when I found it at an estate sale for $2. You can see it here if you like: https://www.confessionsofaserialdiyer.com/one-more-use-for-an-old-window/ I replaced them with a piece of metal grate we had left over from a vent project. 🙂

Oh Boy! that looks great! I’m soooo excited. Someone offered me a Bunch of spindles (banister) & I’ve been racking my brain trying to think of different uses. Your reclaimed crate & spindle is one I can use for sure!
Also what kind of decorative scroll is that in front of fireplace? I am in process of painting my old brass, glass door fireplace cover. That looks pretty as well.
Thanks!
Christy K. James says
Oh good, glad I could give you an idea for your spindles! That scroll is one of those fireplace screens that has a bajillion tea light holders on it, but I took them out and turned it around. I bought it at Kirklands forever ago. 🙂
Marie@The Interior Frugalista says
Christy, I like the chalkboard letters with your pumpkin garland better – so cute! I’m swooning over the mercury glass elements in your display. The arrangements you created for your urns are so pretty.
Christy K. James says
Thank you thank you, Marie! It was fun crafting for a change instead of painting. 🙂

I love your neutral colors. The arrangements you put together are just perfect. You have a knack for flower arranging. I really like that large silver candlestick?? I think it’s a candlestick….on the left with the pumpkin on it.
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Kathy! I can’t arrange real flowers to save my life ha ha. That candlestick came from Pier one. 🙂

This rainy day that we are having here in VA makes me want to cuddle up under a blanket in front of a decorated for fall mantel like yours. I recognized your wreath from last year and think that it looks equally great inside. Your floral arrangements on the side of your mantel also look pretty. I like fall decor but hate to see the warm temperatures go away.
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Paula! We had a few rain showers here today too. I’m excited for Fall to get here, but not Winter…wish it would get a little cool and stay there. 🙂
Jane @ Cottage at the Crossroads says
Christy, I remember seeing your summer mantel and I didn’t know how you could top that one, but you sure knocked it out of the park with this one! Love every single little detail (especially that lace adorned pillow on the chair!)
Christy K. James says
Aww you are so sweet, Jane! Thank you! The pillow is one of my favorites too, bought it at Homegoods a couple of years ago. 🙂

Christy K. James says
Oh me too, Mary! I’m not sure what will happen if I decide to switch back to traditional colors for Fall…I’d have to start all over…or buy a bunch of orange spray paint lol. 😉

Thanks, Christy! My MIL gave me these chairs and although they were a great shade of blue, I wanted something more neutral. I didn’t have the heart to get rid of them, so this was the perfect solution! 🙂
