Spooky Outdoor Halloween Tour

Hello sweet Friends and Happy Halloween!!

You know as much as we love Halloween around here, I couldn’t miss stopping by to share a few photos with you! We love decorating for Halloween, but on Halloween night, we bring out even more to greet our trick-or-treaters. Last year after the night was through, I took photos to share.

Here’s what it looked like during the day…

But on Halloween night, imagine  spooky Halloween music howling, eerie lights flashing from behind the windows, and you’re six years old…

On the way up to get your treat, you pass these guys hanging out in the graveyard:

Honestly the older kids are more scared than the younger ones are. Many of the younger kids have already been playing in our yard several times before Halloween even gets here.

They love the graveyard…

This guy is on the other side of our driveway.

My husband gives the kids pop-its to throw to make him talk.

Then as they approach the entry, it get’s a little more spooky.

This is the path off to the right that leads to our back yard. The tea lights in mason jars are an inexpensive way to add to the ambiance throughout.

Heading back towards the front door, this guy is the creepiest:

His eyes glow red and he talks in a creepy voice.

Just past the skeleton in the rocker (found that rocker beside a dumpster years ago), awaits this creepy gal:

This mirror and some candles were perfect for this empty corner.

If you don’t recognize it, I ended up pairing it with this dressing table to create the perfect match.

This creepy doll was a new addition last year.

She really creeps my 14 year old out. Her eyes light up and she says spooky phrases.

See bloody Mary (that’s what we call her) hanging in the window? She’s extra freaky when the lights are flashing behind her.

Our front door friend…

If the kids make it this far, which most do, there’s the goods they came for in the big black bucket.

We go through a LOT of Halloween candy. Unfortunately my neighbors get all those trick-or-treaters too. (Sorry, neighbors!)

On the way out, you’ll see our forgotten dinner guests…

And you’ll have to pass the graveyard again on your way out…

Then it’s home free!

This gal will be watching you from the balcony as you go though:

Outdoor Halloween Decorations

We LOVE going all out for Halloween. There is no gore so it is just the right amount of spooky for the kiddos.

If you want to see more of our outdoor Halloween décor, visit the previous year HERE:

Halloween-2014-1

It is very similar with a few variations.

We try to vary it a little from year to year, and enjoy adding new things too.

Oh and if you like video, here’s a family video my hubby made last Halloween that shows some of the characters in action (and you’ll see a terrible panoramic photo of me at the beginning!):

If you have trouble viewing, you can see it HERE.

Hope you enjoyed taking the tour. I’ll be spending most of the day getting ready for this year’s Halloween visitors!

Have a safe and Happy Halloween, my Friends! 🙂

  1. You sure did a spooky set-up! There is a place here in Oregon known as the Davis Graveyard and it is very elaborate! You can view online.

  2. Mary Kaiser says:

Love it very much. It has been a long time since my four children were little and I did Halloween big like that. They are all grown now so I don’t do all that anymore, but it is sure fun to see yours. Have a fun Halloween!

    • Thanks, Mary! The kids love it…not sure we’ll continue after the kids are grown, but it sure is fun now! 🙂

  3. Too cute and spooky ♥

  4. I love it! I’m sure it’s a lot of work but totally worth it! Happy Halloween!!

  5. Cindy Lee says:

I”ve been meaning to ask you this for two years. Where in tarnation have you acquired your stock pile of skeletons from? By the way, your setup is AMAZING! Hubby’s video rocked 🙂

    • Thanks so much, Cindy Lee! We found our first few at Walgreens believe it or not. They used to be a great resource for Halloween décor, but not so much anymore. I saw them for the first time at Walmart this year, for only $29, and I believe Target carries them now too. My hubby will love hearing that you liked his video! XO

  6. What fun! Love all your decorations! We had fun this year too…threw a party so had to spook things up! Halloween is just plain fun!

  7. Debbie in TX says:

Wow!!! Love, love, love the decorations. I think you should win an award for Best Decorated House Ever. All the detail and lighting makes it look so real. I know I would have been too scared to go to your house when I was a little girl! I’m glad someone loves Halloween just as much as I do. You and your kids will have memories for years to come. Thanks for all the photos so we could visit.

    • I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Debbie, and I love that you too love Halloween!! I always share my outdoor tour each year here, but often I get crickets from my regular readers lol. I know it’s not everyone’s thing, but it sure is fun!! XO

  8. Yay, a video!! Very well done too. Hope you guys had loads of fun last night.

    • Thanks, Marie! We did! I sure did miss Halloween being on a Saturday like it was last year though…Halloween on a school night is tough. Glad you enjoyed the video, that will make my hubby happy! XOXO

  9. Annie (Canada) says:

Fantastic!! And that doll….way creepy…I hate dolls! I think it has something to do with the horror movies I watched as kid. Happy Halloween 👻👻
