Hallow there and welcome to my 2022 Outdoor Halloween Decor Tour! Today I’m taking a break from the thrifty makeovers, but don’t worry, I’ll be back to it on Thursday!
Y’all know I love Halloween, and if you don’t know me that well yet, now you know! I do love me some Halloween, but not anything gory. I keep it more on the friendly side.
I actually had over 100 photos of our decor this year since I have both night and day, so I’m sharing the outside today, and then I’ll pop back in this weekend and share the inside.
I did change a few things up this year.
Enjoy!
Outdoor Halloween Decor
I’ll start with a wider shot and make my way up close.
Imagine Halloween night with fog, a bunch of candles throughout the beds, and spooky music as you go through the photos!
Here we are from the street:
My hubby just loves sharing his office with the girl in his window.
That shot was just to give a quick street view…it’s so much better up close…and even better at night!
Let’s head up the driveway!
I split up the cemetery fence this year and spread pieces of it throughout.
Another angle at night…night is really the best!
I stick with mostly skeletons and Jack o Lanterns.
As you start up the path to the house, this guy greets you…
He’s a bit creepy at night, but we only have a couple of really creepy things!
These guys are back and up to no good again…see? Not so creepy!
I had a few pumpkins that were super faded. This year I lined them all up and gave them a fresh coat of spray paint like the taller one above. I might spray them all next year…I really love the more vibrant orange!
And this is Lazy Bones…
I’ve included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I love.
Inside, the skeleton dinner party is just getting started…
I found all of the fencing at the Home Depot a few years ago in the gardening section.
So much better at night…welcome little trick or treaters!
Where’s Lyla?
This guy is super creepy. He’s The Butler and we found him the first year we started decorating about 15 years ago, except this is the Butler 2.0 since the first one was stolen. We were lucky to find another online!
He’s always the first thing we pull down from the attic and the first to get put out on the porch!
He says, “It’s too late to turn back now for you have happened upon a dead man’s party ha ha ha ha!”
This is my lighted Trick or Trick sign I made and shared HERE.
Some friendlier folks to welcome you to the porch!
All dressed for the big party!
I mixed dead sunflowers from our garden with roses that I spray painted black for her floral arrangement…
The candles really make it at night…
These are all totally fake, but they look so real since they’re real wax on the outside. I found them on Amazon HERE. They would be great for in home use all year! That awesome candelabra was a lucky thrift store find.
I love to look for new and interesting bottles each year…
One of the biggest things I added this year was the Halloween tree…
I had planned to buy a Christmas tree at the thrift store and spray paint it, but this one was very reasonable on Amazon HERE, and I think spray painting a tree might have been a big mess!
The lights on the tree are mini pumpkins. I found them HERE.
And my two headed friend at the end of the porch…
I actually found him on Amazon a couple of years ago HERE.
Let’s see what’s down below the porch…
My DIY Halloween sign that I made several years ago from a mailbox post is still hanging in there…
I usually have green spotlights on everything in front, but it was a bit harsh in the photos.
This guy is just off the path to the right of that sign…
This little one is hanging on a rocking chair that had broken. It was perfect as a swing!
We pulled this rocker out of a dumpster several years ago. It’s perfect for mama skeleton…
I love all the pumpkins lit up throughout at night!
Skeleton shenanigans. These guys are my favorite!
And that’s a wrap on our Outdoor Halloween Decor!
No gore and no blood…just some skeletons living their best life.
I do buy a couple new Halloween decor pieces each year, but I also thrift for much of my decor. Just about anything spray painted black works for Halloween!
I hope you enjoyed the tour!
I’ll be back on Thursday with my Furniture Fixer Upper girls and this beauty that needed some major fixing up!
See ya then!
UPDATE: See how this gorgeous piece turned out HERE now!

I Love it, and yet another crown for you to wear, Queen of Halloween!! Everything you do is 125 percent over the top, thats is what makes you the Queen!! I just didn’t know that so much talent could be wrapped in to one little body, or that one could fit so many crowns on their head, but you are the Queen of so many things!!
Christy says
Aww ha ha thank you, Mary! I do love some Halloween, and I will proudly where that crown lol! Less than a week and it will all be packed away once again boohoo! Have a fantastic week! XOXO
Janette says
OMG this is fabulous, we never see anything remotely like this here so I find this amazing. You did such a wonderful job, so many skeletons, and I had to laugh at them climbing the wall haha, brilliant.
Look forwad to seeing your next ‘re-do’, just love them. xxx
Christy says
I’m so glad you like it, Janette! Thank you! I do really get into it ha ha! XOXO
Nanette says

Tanya says
Love your enthusiasm for Halloween! We’ve been heartbroken since we moved to a very boring neighborhood and miss the displays put out by kind people like you and your family. Someday I’d like to try making your lighted trick or treat sign. LOVE IT! Thanks Cristy for keeping Halloween tradition going strong!
Christy says
Thank you so much, Tanya! I love it when people get into it, but honestly, I appreciate even the smallest effort that people make. It just makes the holiday more fun. Maybe, y’all can get things started in your neighborhood?! The sign is super easy…I hope you give it a try! XOXO
Janice Holt says
I’ve never seen anybody else that decorated for Halloween like you do. I’m amazed every year at what great displays you have. My granddaughter will be so glad to see this tomorrow afternoon when she comes over. Thanks for sharing and I never tire of it.
Christy says
Aww I appreciate that so much, Janice! And I love that your granddaughter enjoys it too! XOXO
Denise Cox says
Christy, Christy, Christy, you ARE the QUEEN of Halloween! I absolutely love it!! It’s spookingly gorgeous ??? ( is there such thing…?) I’ve only been following for three years, but this is by far my favorite yet. When do you start ? You must spend HOURS decorating (not counting the time it takes “refurbishing”) the older pieces.) Where did you get the larger pumpkins with the great expressions on the porch? They’re my favorite. Love the size. I remember growing up in Baltimore the neighbors around where I lived would decorate just as much as they would for Christmas. It was great. I still remember one that shared the bejeezus out of me ….lol!!
As usual…. stupendous job!!💀👻👏
Christy says
Thank you so much, Denise!! I do like it to be pretty too ha ha. It usually takes me a whole day, but with my back issues this year, I took my time and did it over a few days…it was more fun to do it that way! The larger pumpkins came from the Home Depot. Halloween decor sells out super fast around here, so you have to start looking in September! XOXO
Marie says
“skeletons living their best life” LOL! Thank you for sharing.
Christy says
My pleasure, Marie! I’m glad you enjoyed it! XOXO

Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoy, it, Sharon! Thank you! Part of decorating is just for me, but also I just love to see the reactions of the kiddos!! XOXO

Wow! the work you have put in for Halloween. I loved the Dining Room video and Loved the skeleton with the Beret sitting in the frame. I bet you have lots of drive bys and trick or treaters. Some day please share how you made the lighted Trick or Treat sign. Happy Halloween!
Christy says

Christy says
Aww thank you, Dianne! I do really enjoy it ha ha! XOXO
Carly Dwyer says
Oh my, how much fun is that?!!! Lovely and scary enough for the kiddos to enjoy. Wonderful as always.
On a different note could you share how you store all of this? Do you use large tubs or boxes? And storing the things that don’t collapse must be a challenge. Then you bring out you beautiful Christmas decor. You are just so talented. Love it all.
Christy says
Aww I appreciate that so much, Carly! We store most things in smaller tubs that measure 24 X 14 X 13″ deep. There are many, but the smaller size makes them easier to get up and down out of the attic and they aren’t so heavy. The skeletons fit four or five to a large tub without the lid when the legs are collapsed. We have two or three larger bins for a few longer items that don’t fit into the smaller bins. The pumpkins go into large lawn and leaf bags. Thank you! XOXO
Margie says
Love it!
Christy says
Thank you, Margie!! XOXO
Bev says
I look forward to your Halloween display every year. So talented. I do have one question though. Where in the world do you store all those creatures? You almost need a spare room for them.
Christy says
Oh yay! Thank you, Bev! It all goes into the attic. It’s quite a sight if you have to get up there mid June for a cooler lol! XOXO
Lani says
Wow!! That decor is fantastic!! What a great job you did. That is a lot of work and effort. Where do you store all that decor?
You sure have an artistic eye for your decorating and refurbishing/painting!
Christy says
I appreciate that so much, Lani, thank you! It all goes into the attic…fun to hop up there mid summer and see all the skeletons staring at ya lol! XOXO
Cindy Lee says
I look forward to this every year! What a great display! Love it! Happy Halloween to you and yours!!💀👻🎃
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Cindy Lee! I’m so glad you enjoy it! Happy Halloween! XOXO
Connie says
Wow. That is soooo cool! What a lot of work! Love it!
Christy says
Thanks so much, Connie! XOXO
Connie says
LOVE your Halloween decor! I used to do the same thing for years, but now, at 76, I have given all the bats, rats, skeletons and lights to my daughter! I kept my painted Barbie dolls to stand around inside. Easy to store and enuf to please me!
Christy says
Thank you, Connie! I hope your daughter carries on the decorating. I love the idea of spooking up some Barbies!! XOXO
Carolyn Price says
You. Are. Amazing!!! I look forward to your tours every Halloween!! The creativity, James Dead and Breakfast, just blows me away.
I have to come see it one of these days.
Terrific work, Christy & Family.
PS: I think the skeletons trying to get into the upper floor are my favorite, too. ; )
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, my friend! I’m so glad you enjoy it! Those guys are definitely the most fun! XOXO
Marian says
Hi Christy,
I think your Halloween decorations are so cool. If I were young and trick or treating, I might be afraid to come to your door. The skeletons really scare me. Some people are afraid of clowns. I am leery of skeletons. I have been waiting for your Halloween post. BOO!
Christy says
Thank you, Marian! It’s funny that the little ones are often more brave than some of the older ones ha ha! I can see how skeletons could be scary for sure. Glad you enjoyed it! XOXO
Debbie in TX says
Love, love all of this! Especially loved seeing Miss Lyla in the doorway : ) I think spreading out the fence pieces worked wonderfully, and the way the string lights are hung and placed around adds to the overall spooky feel. The Halloween tree really helps light up the porch. Great job!! Can’t wait to check out the party inside! xoxo
Christy says
Thank you, my friend! I didn’t realize Lyla was there until I was editing the photos lol. I like the fence spread out better also. I’ll be back with the dinner party this weekend! XOXO
Kathy from Jax says
Yeaaah! I’ve waited all year to see this again. Always so fun to look at. I look at it several times to make sure I don’t miss anything. Love the new additional of the tree. I’m curious how you secure your skeletons by the window. Dental floss, wire? You better buy a lot of candy because I’m sure the trick-or-treaters will stop by for a visit. No “tricks” for you just children stopping by for a fun Halloween. And I love all the pumpkins too! As always so fun and can’t wait to see the inside this weekend.
Christy says
Aww yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Kathy! To secure the skeletons, I used craft wire and my staple gun…I sure did staple right into our window sill lol! We do get lots of treat or treaters and I love seeing them all and their reactions! See ya this weekend! XOOX
Betty Bilnoski says
As usual, Christy, your Halloween decorations are fantastic! 🎃 👻
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Betty! XOXO
Karen says
WOW! What a display! You are certainly dedicated and talented. Such fun for your neighbors, friends, and family! I hope your little trick or treaters aren’t scared off by the butler, though. He’s a little daunting! Thank you for sharing your great ideas.
Christy says
Thanks so much, Karen! I appreciate that! The little ones are surprisingly less scared than some of the older ones ha ha! XOXO
ROBIN says
AWWWWESOME!!! AGAIN I BOW TO THE QUEEN OF HALLOWEEN!!! HONESTLY THIS LOOKS LIKE SCENERY FROM A MOVIE. I CAN JUST SEE IT HALLOWEEN NIGHT EVERYBODY NEAR YOU MUST COME OUT TO TRICK OR TREAT AT YOUR HOUSE.
SIMPLY MARVELOUS!!! CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE INSIDE!
Christy says
Thank you, Robin! Halloween is SO much fun, especially seeing all the kiddo’s reactions! XOXO
Mariele says
I look forward to your Halloween decor every year, even though I’m not much of a Halloween person. I always love to share it with my family and friends. You absolutely outdo yourself every year!!! I just can’t imagine the creativity and energy you have to get these all out and staged so well every day. The neighborhood kids must love you. 😀
Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoy it, Mariele, thank you! I just love Halloween, and it’s so fun to see the kids’ reactions on Halloween night! XOXO
