Hello beautiful friends! I have a quick makeover to share with you today and I want to tell you about my booth!
A couple of weeks ago I went yard saling and found several goodies. These goodies to be exact:
A few pretty cool pieces came home with me that day. My best deals were that bench for $10, the scale for $3, and the console table for a mere $10.
I was in the market for smaller furniture pieces because I finally bit the bullet and leased a booth at a local antique store. (The Virginia Beach Antique Mall on Bonney Rd if you’re in the area!) I’ve already sold several pieces, so I need to get moving, and I also need inventory.
The piece I’m sharing today is the console table I found for $10. It is solid wood and has claw feet. It appears to be mahogany, but the very front panel is veneer. It has a lot of nice details, not like this one…that’s candle wax smeared across the top:
Here is her beauty shot:
I dressed her with pretty things for her reveal…
But this is what I painted underneath:
I love French script on furniture. This came from The Graphics Fairy. I altered it just a tiny bit.
Look at these gorgeous claw feet:
How cool are they? And this detail on the legs painted up beautifully…
I think those details are missed sometimes when it’s just dark wood.
This was such a steal at $10! It had candle wax smeared across it, but it came right off.
I painted this little box a long time ago. It was a thrift store find, as was the ironstone sugar bowl.
This is a mix of Annie Sloan Old White and Pure White chalk paint. The graphics were painted in with black acrylic paint. You can see how I transferred them here.
Here is my booth space before I moved in. I have all down the left side and across the back wall. It’s two spaces actually.
When I was asking about space availability, the owner told me he had these two spaces opening. The previous tenants occupied both spaces and were moving to a larger booth. It was so packed with little knick knacky things that I had no idea how large the space really was. I figured I would take both and give one up later if I decide I don’t need that much.
I can’t wait to share the space all set up, but I need to do it fast because things keep selling, including this console table…sold yesterday!
UPDATE: See my booth here.
You’ll recognize lots of pieces if you’ve been following me for a while. I redid many of them for the Christmas Market last Fall and what was left over was being stored in my Mom’s attic.
I’ll have lots of pieces to share now that I’m selling again!
Here’s one more peek at this little table…
Hope she’s enjoying her new home!
XO,

It turned out great. How exciting to have a booth. That is an interesting idea. I might have to look into doing something like that….. Now, you have got me thinking! 😉

Hi Christy,
As I’ve just started reading your posts. To read today that your in VA Beach, I giggled a little, as I am in Williamsburg. I would love to see your booth and this sounds silly but had no idea to look to craft fairs for furniture, Upcycle, repurposed..etc. Who knows maybe I’ll be your neighbor one day, that would be totally awesome! Oh and I have to go to the yard sales there. Great finds!
Christy K. James says
What a small world, Heather! We were just passing through Williamsburg today on our way back from a weekend at Kings Dominion! The Virginia Beach Craft Market at the Virginia Beach Conference Center has a few booths that have repurposed/upcycled things. I might not be doing it again any time soon since I have more permanent booth now, but stop by if you’re ever out this way! XO

Oh Sherri, I wish you could too! If I ever get it filled enough to take decent photos, I’ll share! Need to get working on transforming my bargains! 🙂 🙂

Love the table!! Glad I got to see it before it sold!! 😉 AND sooo glad to hear things are selling quickly! Might have to get a space!

I know, I can’t believe it sold already! That buyer bought three things, so that was a nice sale. I need to get to work so I can fill my space and take pictures! If it continues to go well, you should definitely look into getting a space! XO

Christy K. James says
Thanks, Kristina! Now I just need to get to work on them! 🙂

the table looks GEORGIOUS! I love the vignette you created for the photo shoot. The little box looks strangely familiar, I picked one just like it up years ago. I use it for storage in my sewing room.
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Linda! I’m kicking myself a bit now, because it would be perfect for behind my sofa! I love the little box, it used to be cedar. I kept the inside unpainted. Thanks for the sweet comment 🙂
Wendi @ H2OBungalow says
