Hello Christy. I am going to attempt to build your santa workshop. I was wondering if you had any other tips or supply list. I have looked at the photos you posted about 1000 times. That is the best santa workshop I have ever seen. The only thing I couldnt figure out was the rafters. Thanks for posting the photos of the progress when he built the shop.

Hi Bill,
So glad you like our Santa’s Workshop. I had a really hard time finding inspiration when I wanted to build one. That’s why I ended up drawing up my own plan and the details just fell into place. For the rafters, My husband used three sets of 2X2s, each set screwed together at the top and then screwed into either side where they meet the top of the walls. One at the front, in the middle and at the back. (My post says we used 2X4s, but my husband said they were 2X2s.) I hope that made sense. We used a thin luan for the roof, so the 2X2s were sufficient to hold the weight. Hope this helps! Good luck and feel free to share pictures if you build one. I’d love to see!
