Don’t be afraid. I won’t scare you…too badly. You know how much we love Halloween around here, and I couldn’t let Halloween pass by without sharing our Spooky Outdoor Halloween tour with you!
On October first, my husband changes out our outdoor lights to blue lights. It serves as a warning of what is to soon come. My neighbors know what it means and get pretty excited when we start setting up our display. Thanks to HalloweenCostumes.com , we have a couple of new friends on our tour this year!
Let’s start at the curb, just to the right of our mailbox.
Does a graveyard add curb appeal?
Perhaps not, but it sure is spooktacular! The fencing is white garden fencing that I spray-painted black. This poor graveyard keeper is one of our new additions from HalloweenCostumes.com. He came on a stand, but I liked him better like this. He looks like he’s desperately trying to escape.
In the background, the skeleton drinking buddies have made their appearance again.
They say that stuff will kill you…
To the left of the mailbox is this little grave site…
As you walk up the driveway, you might see a bony intruder trying to scale the wall over the garage to our balcony off the bedroom…
You’ll also be greeted by a ghoulish Ghost Witch, our other new friend from HalloweenCostumes.com.
She looks pretty spooky from down below. As you continue towards the entry you might encounter a little of this…
And a little of that…
Don’t forget to look up…
You’ll soon be greeted by our favorite Halloween friend, the Butler. (Pardon his missing uppers…)
And his crazy looking girlfriend…
Just past her you’ll meet the reaper…
And some miniature spooky newlyweds on the table beside him…
People always want to know if my youngest is scared by all the creepy decorations…um, not so much.
He loves it all! Here’s his costume he’s been breaking in already…
I had to work that shot in somehow. It was too cute not to share. 🙂 On the other side of the reaper is this poor guy…
Which puts you a little closer to the front door, but first, to the left of the door is this little creeper to greet you:
Then you’re standing at my front door adorned with my new Halloween Wreath.
Can you see what it’s made from? To the right is my DIY Halloween Sign I made last year.
And a little further to the right is our very watchful Witch. She sees your every move.
Bloody Mary warns from above:
Our entry is like a small courtyard. Here you can see it all at night:
That’s when you’ll want to be very careful…
Careful not to disturb the creepies…the crow will caw, the owl will hoot, and the Butler will come alive…
The darkness of night really puts the spook in the air. Now imagine flashing lights in our windows, eerie Halloween music playing, fog misting all around, and my half child husband wielding a remote control spider at our unsuspecting visitors. Kinda scary, right? But it is so much fun! We have to buy a lot of candy to accommodate all the trick-or-treaters, but it is so worth it.
If you want to see more, you can see our Spooky Outdoor Halloween Tour from last year here.
Happy haunting!

OMG Christy, I’ve been waiting with bated breath for your 2014 Halloween Display and you did not disappoint. You must get every kid, young and old, in your town drop by on Halloween night. Heck, you probably get a stream of walking and driving traffic from the time the blue porch light goes on until 31st. You guys are Halloween Rock Stars!
xo

Oh you’re so funny, Marie! The kids do love it. We have lots of drive-bys leading up to Halloween and then when it comes, we make sure we have a lot of candy! It let’s us be kids again! 🙂

Love it! Kids must have fun trick or treating at your house.
Christy K. James says
They do! It’s funny because sometimes the middle school aged kids will not come up to our door, but the little ones will march right up! It’s so much fun. 🙂

Oh I bet you had a blast decorating just as we do! I never thought what will happen when our kids are grown? Does that mean we have to stop? SO glad you like it. 🙂

Luisa says
Oh my gosh! Your place is so amazing! You can tell you put a lot of hard work into it. That bloody mary is creepy. *shivers* I was driving down the road the other day and saw this yard that had 2 life size witches stirring a cauldron pot and there was a baby doll roasting over it!! I was a little creeped out by it. LOL! I don’t do very well with “scary”.
Your place looks great!
Christy K. James says
Thanks, Luisa! We love to decorate for Halloween around here! There are a few more things that come out on Halloween night. It’s fun to see the reactions. 🙂

Christy, my friend, you are such a hoot! This is unbelievable…I remember taking the tour last year but I had forgotten just how crazy fabulous it is. An adorable little trick-or-treater too!!

We have a few more things out that didn’t make it in time for the tour. I shoot add those pics! I had to laugh when you said your boys have had their costumes on all day the day you got them, because Brennan has been wearing his just about every day since we got his too lol. I need Abby’s Batmobile from last year! XOXO
