Hello, dear friends! I’m back today as promised with our Outdoor Halloween decorations!! And, I love that Halloween fell on a regular posting day for me! So…
Happy Halloween!!
Most of you know that I absolutely LOVE Halloween, and I really enjoy decorating for the occasion. I don’t do blood and gore at all…mostly lots of skeleton friends and funny faced pumpkins!
If Halloween isn’t your thing, that is okay by me, and I’ll be back to sharing pretty thrifty things next week!
Let’s jump in, shall we??
I took most of my photos at dusk and a few after dark as well. You’ll see that my decor doesn’t change a whole lot from year to year as I decorate with items I’ve collected for over a decade. I did add a brand new pumpkin arch last year though, and I am still loving it!
Let’s start wide and work our way in!
Here is our home in the light of day from the driveway of my neighbor across the street:

And a little closer at night…

That doesn’t look like much, but you really need to see it more closely!
Here we are to the left where that tree is by the driveway:

We’ll start here and work our way towards the porch.
Here is that area at night:

Behind this area is the start of our walkway to our front door and the looks on the faces of these guys give warning to little ones of what’s to come…

By the way, if you have these plastic pumpkins and they end up all scratched up or faded, just hit them with some spray paint to freshen them up like I did here.
Next to our spooked out pumpkins are these guys, clearly up to no good:

This one is the lookout:

And he better be holding that ladder steady for his friend!

A little further down is this guy:

And next to him is our two headed friend:

And at night…

And my DIY Lighted Halloween sign I made several years ago:

See how I made that sign HERE.
You could totally use the same concept for a Christmas sign like I did HERE almost a dozen years ago.
Here’s a peek towards what is to come…

I love these Jack-o-Lanterns sprinkled throughout…

Their faces really come to life at night! And I prefer decorations that plug in that I can put on a timer.
I learned long ago not to go for the battery-operated decorations, especially because they usually have motion sensors.
Nothing like awakening to creepy Halloween music in the dead of night because of a big gust of wind!

A similar view at night…

This guy is waiting at the end of the path…

This Dead and Breakfast Inn sign is a project from 2015 that I made out of a mailbox post:

It’s still going strong after nine years!
Here it is at our old house:

You can see that old Halloween Tour HERE.
We still use lots of the same props!
There’s still time to turn back!

This guy made another appearance this year:

And here is our new pumpkin arch that we created last year!

They are attached to PVC with electrical ties. I did have to drill holes for those.
Jack and his girlfriend carved most of them. They are carvable pumpkins that we got at both Target and Michaels.

I also used a large drill bit to drill holes in the back of each one so I could add lights.
I used these string lights (probably meant for Christmas village houses), but I swapped the clear bulbs for these orange LED C-7 bulbs so they wouldn’t get hot.

I just love their funny faces! And that was our very first Halloween purchase just behind them in the shadows. He does have a scary face, but we call him the Butler.
And this little guy made his way back to his usual spot:

That was made from a child’s rocker that had broken.
Up on the porch

The skull is resting on a lamp I turned into a candle holder HERE.

My Hubby calls her Beatrice…

Her flower arrangement is made of dried sunflowers from the back yard mixed with spray painted silk roses:

Spooky!

The lamp was passed along from a neighbor.
I was going to put it in my shop just as it was, but I got a fabulous suggestion from one of you to use it in my Halloween display! I loved that idea so much, so I hit it with some black spray paint. (Thanks again, K!)

A view from the porch over the shoulder of this elegant lady:

And also a view from our front door facing out:

I am loving the fall color!
And heading back down the steps…

The fencing and gate are all from Home Depot in the garden section…

I’ve had these headstones since the beginning also.

It’s getting harder to find good quality Halloween decor these days!

Looking back at the porch from down below:

This rocker came out of a dumpster near our old house…

And back to this view…

Now Imagine…
Candles lighting the pathway from the driveway and scattered throughout the landscaping, fog rolling in from below the porch, and spooky music playing in the background. It really comes alive on Halloween night!
I also dress up every year, except last year. It rained and our turnout was, not surprisingly, unusually low, so I skipped the dressing up, but I always incorporate a bit of skeleton.
This was the previous year:

I try not to be too scary as I don’t want to frighten the little ones, so I do more elegant spooky! I was going for a flapper. My amazing thrifted beaded dress had fringe all the way around the bottom, but I think I’m giving more Phantom of the Opera vibes.
I better decided what I’m wearing tonight soon ha ha!
The Skeleton Party inside
The dining room window shares a clear view of the skeleton dinner party going on inside…

(Borrowed this photo from last year.)
Here’s a few I snapped from outside…

You are welcome to join the party inside!

I didn’t change much up except for my hutch, so I didn’t retake photos, but you can take that tour HERE.
And that is my 2024 Halloween Decor Tour!
I put it up on October 1st which is the earliest I’ve ever gotten it up, so I’ve really gotten to enjoy it. It will all come down tomorrow like it never even happened.
I get lots of questions about where we store it all. Everything lives in our attic. We have many many smaller totes for most of it to make it easy to bring up and down.
I hope you all have a safe Halloween this year!
SHOP NEWS
In shop news, I am able to reset my shop when the app gets crazy not allowing y’all to see what is in each section. It’s a work around until they fix the issue, but if y’all are having trouble not being able to see what’s in a section, shoot me a message, and I’ll reset it!
I do have a bunch of older transfers on sale right now, including some of my favorites like Blossom Botanica, Hello Baby, Vigorous Violet, Pretty in Blue and many many more! See everything that’s on sale HERE!
I’ll be back on Tuesday, joining some of my favorite blogger friends with…something for the holidays, this tote from my haul:

And so it begins ha ha!

Still the best Halloween decorations I’ve ever seen. Not many people in our area decorate for the holiday, but I sure am glad you are keeping the spirit of Halloween alive. Spooky decorating is so much fun, and the lighting adds so much at night. Would be fun to hear the music — I thought you might have posted a video once before ?? Anyway, Happy Halloween!!!
Christy says
Thank you so much, my friend! I just love it. I did a lot of fall yard saling this year and was surprised at all the decorations around here. I did do a video a couple of years back. I need to do another for next year! Happy Halloween! XOXO

Bonjour.
???? XOXO
Karen says
Kudos to you for all the work unpacking, hauling, setting up, and then packing it all back up again. Whew! I get tired just writing it all down! And I would like to give a special thanks to your hubby for letting all this stuff be stored away in the attic! Many would not be so agreeable. It’s a wonderful display and you bring so much joy to all of us looky loos.
Christy says
Thank you so much, Karen! It is a lot, but so fun to see everyone enjoy it on Halloween! I packed it all away yesterday and the boys will haul it up to the attic tomorrow. My husband is great with all the space I take up! XOXO

Happy late Halloween. Let me start off by saying you look stunning! I can’t believe it has been nine years since you made the sign dead and breakfast. I remember you making that as my youngest daughter wanted to make one.
Also see in the dining room your guests. Overstayed their welcome again. I guess they were dead set on staying Ha Ha Ha oh I kill myself???????? Once again you have out done yourself. Every time I think she’s got to run out of ideas sometime, you prove me wrong. I have been with you Ten years and I can’t believe it. Thanks for the memories, Hugs!
Christy says
Aww thank you, Bonnie! You are the sweetest! I can’t believe it has been that long either! Ha ha…dead set…good one!! ???? The skeleton puns never get old lol. Thank you so much for sticking with me and cheering me on!! I appreciate you so much! XOXO
Karen says
]Bony hands down, the BEST Halloween decorations I’ve ever seen! 100 times better than those yard inflatables that turn into polyester puddles by day! Adds festivity to your whole neighborhood. Mr. Rogers must have had you in mind when he sang, “Please won’t you be my neighbor?” What fun!
Christy says
Bony hands down…that made me laugh out loud! ???? Thank you so much, Karen! My neighbors really get a kick out of it which is so fun for me! XOXO

Your Halloween decorations are the best! We used to host a Halloween party when our kids were younger for our neighborhood…..I would have loved to have gone over the top like yours but husband said we did enough! lol! I know it’s a lot of work but so worth it! I’ll bet folks come from miles away to see your home!
Christy says
Aww you are the sweetest, Catherine, thank you! I love love love Halloween! It is always a treat to see how the kids of all ages take it all in on Halloween night! XOXO
Robin says
It’s 1/2/2025 & I’m playing catch up!!!! As usual just love your decor inside & out (love Halloween as much as you do!!!) 2024 was our first Halloween in the high rise condo. It won’t ever be the same as decorating in our house & later the rented townhouse. Halloween decor was restrained inside our condo. Passed down some Halloween decor to the kids & loaned 2 skellies to daughter. Now pared down to 1 giant sterlite bin. Skellies are not in there, though!
Christy says
Hi Robin! You can show up as late to the party as you like lol! Thank you! It must have been hard to not be able to go all out for Halloween, but glad you got to do some decorating still! Maybe now you can enjoy the work of others. We love to drive around looking at all the halloween decorations in the neighborhoods like most people do with Christmas lights! Happy New Year! XOXO
