Welcome back, amazing friends! Today, we’re taking a field trip to my antique mall booth! Most of you know that I have had my booth at the Virginia Beach Antique Mall here in Virginia Beach since 2014. I started with two spaces and just sold furniture and decor.
In 2019, I became a Dixie Belle Retailer. Then, in 2020, I decided to expand my inventory to become an Elite Dixie Belle Retailer, and it has continued to grow since then, with the addition of Redesign with Prima products. I carry everything Dixie Belle and just about everything available from Redesign also both here and in my Etsy Shop.
At the end of 2024, I acquired three more spaces, and I now occupy an entire room! It’s literally like having my own little shop!
Let’s get started with today’s antique mall booth tour!
I like to share my booth space by talking about all the larger pieces that have come and gone. I’ll take you around the room first, so you can get the layout a bit. You’ll notice that although my space is in an antique mall, my items are mostly refurbished and updated pieces. It works so nicely since my blog feeds my booth, and redoing items for my booth feeds my blog.
Here’s where we last left off
Here is what you saw as you entered my booth when I last shared it back in September:

I loved this vignette!
That lingerie chest sold soon after sharing my last booth tour, and I brought a few more small pieces in to add to the display:

You can see my Dixie Belle products live beyond that and take pretty much the whole right wall:

If you pan to the opposite side, this is just as you come in the door on the left:

This was the perfect spot for this sweet kids’ table and chairs!
And you can see my Redesign transfers live along the left wall there…you’ll see more of that in a bit.
Just beyond the transfers is this little area where I created a small vignette:

You can see my mould display is just beyond that.
If you walked straight back to the back on our last visit, you would have run right into this Savannah Mist Armoire:

I loved this piece!
And this was the back, left corner:

This magnolia piece had been hanging around for quite some time:

That ended up selling soon after, and I moved the black secretary to that spot:

Where the secretary had been, I added this this large dresser:

I paired with a few gray items and that little night table that had also been hanging around a while. That night table sold not long after.
This was just beyond that area:

And this was the back, right corner just behind that back in September:

The room stayed like that for a bit as sales over the holidays stalled. It is always a bit slow in November/December.
For that reason, I don’t usually don’t add a whole lot in the way of holiday items, but I did bring in a few framed prints I created with decoupage paper and thrifted frames HERE.

Luckily, I end up making up for that slow period after the New Year, during the really cold winter months when people are looking for things to do indoors!
I skipped this area earlier, but this area is just to the right as you enter the room:

I added a couple of holiday art pieces here as well…

All of the holiday art I created HERE for the previous year sold, but I was pretty late in getting this year’s art to my booth, so not all of them sold. (Already ahead for next year lol!)
After the new year, I brought in this cute as can be dressing table and chair:

I didn’t redo the yellow chair to go with this table as the style doesn’t quite match, but I displayed them together anyway.

This hutch was still hanging out:

As was this Louis the XVI armchair I redid:

That chair soon sold though.
And here is the area to the right of the armoire. The coastal blue bench sold and a few things got moved around, including moving that sunflower piano bench to this side:

That sunflower bench sold, and I brought in this little washstand cabinet…

And this basket had been hanging around for quite a while also!

Luckily, all of these items have since sold, including that basket…

And then guess what sold next? The blue armoire that was on the back wall! (This was after the holidays, of course, when business started to pick up.)
I then moved the black secretary to that spot on the back wall, along with some of its coordinating friends:

I also brought in that black and gold night table.
I had also just brought in this game table I did a TAKE TWO makeover on using decoupage paper:

And how gorgeous is this set of Italian candle wall sconces??

I found them at a yard sale for $15 for the set and had planned to keep them for myself, but I ended up taking them to my booth. They have since sold.
And here was the area to the left:

The yellow floral table got moved to this spot next to that:

(And that huge white mirror sold.)
To left of that is my mould wall:

(And just beyond that starts the transfers.)
The next thing to sell was the striped kids’ table and chair set that was up front, and I brought in this Yankee Blue dresser to put in its place:

That only lasted a couple of days!
I then moved this yellow floral dressing table to that spot and paired it with this mirror I redid to go with it:

The mirror sold right away, so now the dressing table is without a mirror once again.
After completing this Antebellum Blue Cabinet, I knew I wanted to find a wall to put it on, so I could pair it with this mirror that had been hanging around:

I redid it to go with this dresser a while ago, but the dresser sold without it. They pair so nicely together!
I also brought in this console table I did last month:

I have that just as you come in on the right, in front of the mantel, along with this blue press back chair I also brought in not too long ago…

I added some of the other blue items that were in my latest Painting the Smalls post to this area:

I did a green area over on the left to include the new Easter items I brought in:

I then added the dressing table and chair to this area:

So cute!

I did that so that I could move this set to the area up front where that table had been:

And look who I had helping me… Jack! Photo bombing my blog photos since 2012 lol!

This pretty box is still here…

Here is the transfer wall now:

I had to move the antebellum set up front to make room for that Tea Rose beauty that is now on the back wall!

But first, I also bought two new rugs for my space!

The old ones had become quite dirty. I need to bring a small vacuum to keep in there, so I can clean them regularly! They’re from Amazon HERE, and they are both the same size, I just have the second one turned length-wise.
I had three different sized rugs in there before that I bought to fit the old spaces I had, and they just looked terrible. They look SO much better now!
Let’s work our way to the back stopping here along the way:

And just to the left are all my decoupage papers:

And here is this lovely antique dresser that I could not wait to bring in!

I redid that small table to match, but it has already sold.

I won’t mind at all if this piece hangs around for a bit!
And I opened the secretary again since it coordinates:

This mirror is still here and hangs close by:

I also brought in the giant mirror I recently shared:

Heading back towards the front…

And here is that front corner once again:

This small box has been here a while too!

And back to the front!

Lots of smaller things that I didn’t mention have come and gone as well, especially lamps!
Oh and I finally moved that chandelier I painted for my old space, up to the front:

And that is how my booth is looking these days! It’s a pretty large space, and I feel so fortunate that I get to have the whole room!
I hope you enjoyed the tour!

Oh so fun to see your booth! I love the tea rose piece on that back wall! It would draw me right in to take a look at it! Of course if I lived closer it wouldn’t be in your booth, it would be in my home where it belongs!! LOL

bonjour Chrity
XOXO

I need to get to your place in the fall!!!! That black secretary is to die for. I don’t have a space for it but someone just has got to grab that! Redesign idea is truly lovely. I am glad people are scooping up for stuff. You do marvelous work. I have been following you for years. I hope to get there one day. God bless
Christy says
Thank you so much, Josee! It would be awesome if you came for a visit! I always appreciate you kind words, my friend! XOXO

Personally, I always absolutely LOVE the tours, Christy. So much fun to see all your efforts showcased and to see what sells and what has been hanging around for a while.
I have to say- you have good taste when it comes to your hangtags with your name on them. That is the exact card I used when I had my Cottage On The Cove Etsy shop. So fun to see someone else love that design.
Have a wonderful weekend. xo Diana
Christy says
I am so glad you enjoy the tours, Diana! It is fun for me too to take the time to see what has come and gone. And yes, many things hang around for a bit too! I love those hangtags ha ha! They don’t match my “brand” at all, but they were just so pretty! XOXO
Kathy from Jax says
Wow, you have been redecorating. It looks so inviting. Browsing and shopping all in one! Hopefully one day I’ll get there.
Christy says
Thank you, Kathy! I don’t feel the need to redecorate at home at all because I get to play in the shop lol! XOXO

It’s always fun to see what comes and goes. Then there are the pieces that are still around, like that pretty dressing table, etc. Why? It’s so pretty with its cheerful yellow drawer. Thanks for showing us around. I enjoyed seeing it!
😊 Cecilia
Christy says
Glad you enjoyed the tour, my friend, thank you! I am always curious too why some pieces hang around a bit too long, but I guess the right buyer has to come along! XOXO

Janina says
Wow, Christy, you sure do work hard! Your booth (store!) really looks lovely. This was a fun tour. It must keep you on your toes trying to keep it looking nice when things sell. How often do you have to go to check on it? You must have fans who come regularly just to see what you have that’s new. Do you ever get commission requests from your store clients? Happy DIYing! Your work is always incredibly inspiring. Spring is coming… I’m sure things will start flying out of your “booth”! Sending love and hugs… xoxox
Christy says
Thank you so much, Janina! It does keep me hopping when things are selling for sure. I visit about every other week to restock and fluff. I’m SO ready for spring as I’m sure you are too! XOXO
Cyndi says
Your booth tours are always so much fun! Everything looks beautiful! (And I can’t believe that gorgeous black secretary is still there. I would have bought that already if I lived close enough!)
Christy says
Aww thank you, Cyndi! I am so surprised that secretary is still there also! Although it has been hiding in that back left corner for a bit, so maybe it has been missed. I might need to move it back up front! XOXO
Michele M. says
Oh I just love your booth tours and being reminded of what sold, etc. It’s fascinating to learn your mind set on why you put what where. I am SO glad your sales are good, Christy. You really deserve it with your exquisite painting projects! One day I will get to VB and get over to see it all in person.
Christy says
Yay! They are fun for me too…I like to be reminded of what has come and gone as well! And I appreciate that so much, my friend. As long as things keep selling, I can keep creating!! XOXO
Jan Murray says

Christy says

hillary says
you once posted about pricing you’re items. Would you do something like that again? I’d love to see what your selling things for and also why you put that price on it.
Thanks,
your loyal fan
Christy says
Hi Hillary! You can revisit that post HERE if you like, and then I linked to another one just for the smalls at the end. I find that I pretty much still price things similarly these days. Use it as a guide, but if things sell too quickly, you can ask more next time. It might be fun to put another post like that though! XOXO
