Hello, dear friends! As most of you are aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and I’m back today in support of those affected by breast cancer with a special giveaway.
Two people I love very much have been battling breast cancer. One of them had put off her mammogram due to the pandemic, which is very likely the case for many. When she finally went, she learned that she had breast cancer. She was very fortunate in that it had been detected early. It wasn’t even yet palpable beneath the skin. She has come through treatment and is living cautiously on the other side.
The other special person I know who has been battling this disease is heading into fight number two. And fight, she will! She is one of the strongest women I know.
If you’ve been putting off that mammogram, make that appointment. If you have even the slightest concerns, reach out to your doctor.
I also wanted to share something enjoyable today, so I’ve rounded up 10 of my own thrifty pink makeovers.
And then look for today’s special giveaway at the bottom!
I’m sharing these projects in the order of oldest to newest.
Enjoy!
1
The first pink item in today’s round up is this dresser that started as Jack’s baby changing table 21 years ago. (Can y’all believe he just turned 21?)
At one point, I sawed of the the awkward hump that many baby changing tables have (I blogged about that HERE.) and replaced it with a wood top.
In 2016, when both of my boys were done with it, I gave it a much more feminine look using Soft Pink and Fluff:
My favorite…stripes! I used a lot of them in these pink makeovers!
See more of this oldie HERE.
2
Number two is this cute set I created from a small antique side table and a stool, both found at the thrift store:
This pretty pink color and a sweet stencil turned them into the perfect pair!
See more of these makeovers HERE.
3
This next set was purchased separately also, but they are actually meant to be a set.
I found them months apart at two different thrift stores!
These were Brennan tested…
And Brennan approved!
I miss that little Brennan!
See more of this sweet makeover HERE.
4
This set of headboards was a steal at $12 a piece at the thrift store. Cotton, Pink Champagne, and the Chatellerault transfer really brought them back to life:
See more of these headboards HERE.
5
At number five is this faux bamboo style night table that I gave a feminine spin with Pink Champagne:
That was back when you could find night tables for $6!
See more of this pretty redo HERE.
6
Next up is this mass produced piece that I found at the thrift store for $8.
The original tired finish got an update with paint and this beautiful decoupage paper:
See more on how I did that HERE.
7
This makeover shared how I paint a silver tray using this lovely Tea Rose with Gold Gilding Wax accents:
See more on how I did that HERE.
8
This next makeover was a fun one using Cotton and Peony…
This box was a fantastic $10 yard sale find.
See more of this makeover HERE.
9
At number nine is one of my favorites!!
A friend reached out to see if I was interested in a desk she was getting rid of. Of course after taking one look, I said yes! I literally dropped everything and headed right over to pick it up.
Cotton, Pink Champagne, and the Flower Child transfer (oh yeah, and STRIPES ha ha!) totally transformed this one:
Then, the SAME day I shared this makeover, I found this hot mess stool at the thrift store:
I knew it would make a perfect match to the desk!
And, it sure did!
Right??
See the desk HERE and then you can follow the stool from there if you like.
10
Next up is this adorable night table created with a mix of Soft Pink and Pink Champagne and the Hello Baby transfer:
This table was the post-pandemic price of $20, but it was in excellent condition.
See all the details on this makeover HERE.
11
I brought out the Peony once again for this next one. This $4 tea box never knew it could shine so bright!
And a peek at the top with the Perfume transfer…
See more on how I updated this plain box HERE.
12
And finally, at number 12 is this most recent share, an old oak desk that I matched to a $5 yard sale chair to create this meant-to-be pair:
This one was done in a 50/50 mix of Fluff and Tea Rose and adorned with the Hello Baby transfer.
See more of this makeover HERE.
And that’s 12 thrifty PINK makeovers!
Special Giveaway Time!
Today’s special giveaway is this gorgeous breast cancer awareness transfer:
I have Fifteen of them to give away.
My hope is that they will go to those who would like to create something special for themselves or for a loved one.
This special piece was done for ‘Fight Club Survivor’, a 501(c)3 non-profit founded by Jeanne Wokurka, a two time breast cancer survivor:
She is remodeling a trailer into a boutique where women can come to to try on wigs, bras, etc. This piece is so beautiful!
Find out more about Fight Club Survivor HERE.
This piece by RenoVelle is amazing!
As you can see, this transfer is stunning on furniture, but it can be cut apart to use on smaller things too. It would be fantastic on a vintage suitcase or trunk. I can see part of it on a lampshade too!
And, this would be a wonderful way to bring some light to someone fighting the good fight.
I have 15 transfers to give away in all and I am only keeping the Rafflecopter open for THREE days.
These transfers have been provided to me from Redesign with Prima, and I am covering the shipping costs.
To enter to win, simply fill out the Rafflecopter below.
This will allow me to pick the winners randomly after the contest is over. There are two free entries just for visiting, no more tasks required! (Available to U.S. and Canada residents only.)
You can enter once a day until the giveaway ends at midnight Saturday.
Then FIFTEEN winners will be chosen randomly and notified via email this Sunday. They will have 48 hours to respond before a new winner will be chosen. You must be 18 years or older to participate. Void where prohibited.
If you have any trouble accessing the Rafflecopter, you can enter to win HERE also!
I wish I had enough to provide them to everyone who would like one. While I only have 15 at the moment, I will be getting a few more in as we are able to add two to each order we place with Redesign this month.
I’ll come back to this Rafflecopter and select more winners as I receive more!
I appreciate every single one of you! 🩷
Meet me back here on Tuesday as I join my Trash-to-Treasure girls with this gem:

Tracey A says
Love ALL these makeovers. I am praying for the special people in your life , may they be given strength to endure rhis horrible disease..
Christy says
Thank you so much, Tracey! I know they appreciate that! XOXO
Vicki Bray says
Thanks so much for the give away! Just last month found out my sister-in-law has breast cancer. I would love to get these for her. She is a major DIYer and can work magic like you do. This would be a perfect re-gift! Hope that’s okay by you!
Thanks again!
Christy says
Oh no! Praying she defeats it quickly! And yes, of course…she is exactly who needs this support right now! XOXO
Cyndi says
These are all beautiful, Christy. Thanks for sharing them and for offering the giveaway!
And, folks, always get it checked even if the x-ray technician says, “It’s probably nothing.”
Christy says
Thank you, Cyndi! Absolutely!! XOXO
Shari Clines says
OMG, I can’t decide which one is my favorite, I love them all! I’m partial to the items made with the Oh Baby transfer and the desk.
I’ve entered the giveaway. I’d love to make my mom, who is a breast cancer survivor, something with it. The dresser pictured above is absolutely beautiful so would like to do something like that. Not sure if I can pull off the ombre look though. What colors did you use and what transfer did you use on the top two drawers?
Christy says
Thank you, Shari!! I think I’m partial to those too…those sweet faces on the animals are just too cute. That dresser wasn’t my own makeover…isn’t it gorgeous? I linked to her FB page in the post though. It looks like she used a color close to Tea Rose and Fluff and then maybe Rozay metallic pink on the stencil on the drawers on top and then came back and highlighted with Lilac chameleon wax. I’m sure your mom would love it however you decide to do it! Good luck! XOXO
Niki says
So pretty in pink! Having a birthday in October and also being a survivor- I get a lot of pink. It’s not really my favorite color, but I appreciate it, and I appreciate your support for breast cancer awareness, for me, and for my pink ribbon sisters and brothers out there. As we know breast cancer doesn’t just affect women.
Thank- you Christy!
Christy says
Thank you, Niki! And thank you for sharing your own fight. You know especially how important it is that we get checked (and yes, men too!). XOXO
Lizzy says
I love a pale pink. #5 & #7 are my favs. Really good work.
Christy says
Thank you, Lizzy! That is such a pretty pink! XOXO
Virginia says
Hello Christy!
Watching for your newest email and following you through the steps as you reimagine a piece is so amazing. Your skills are next level. You have an eye for detail and colour that I only wish I had.
Thank you for sharing your talent, and keep it coming! 🩷
Virginia
Christy says
I appreciate that so much, Virginia! Thank you!! XOXO
Debra Hubbs says
All of them are such pretty transformations!

Thanks for supporting such a worthy cause. Both my sisters are survivors.
A little pink is a Happy thing.
I like the sweet, soft little bamboo side table.
But… I especially enjoy the painted silver tray with pale pink and gold gilding wax. Such beautiful edge details on this tray 🙂
You enhanced it beautifully !!! I would Never have thought to make it pink.
Thanks for your Vision.

Christy says
Thank you, P! My sister is one of the special people I mentioned. We are so blessed to still have them with us! A local reader actually bought the tray for her grandbaby’s nursery. It would be so pretty holding all the baby essentials! Have a lovely weekend! XOXO
Marcie Lovett says
I so enjoy revisiting old favorites, Christy, and seeing those flatware boxes reminds me that I have 2 in my basement waiting for their best selves to be revealed 😁 I forgot about the faux bamboo night table – now I know what a steal it truly was. Thomasville Allegro pieces are very popular and often sell for hundreds of dollars. That $6 price tag is not likely to be repeated, I’m afraid!
Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoy them, Marcie, thank you! I love to be able to share them again. I had someone reach out to me who wanted to purchase that night table at the time in its before state, but I had already redone it. It was a very nice quality piece! Now go dig out those boxes lol! XOXO
Audrey Stewart says
I love pink also! I could live in Barbie’s Dream house easily. Thanks for the chance.
Christy says
Oh girl, me too!! I loved Barbie! Good luck on the giveaway! XOXO
Carroll Xavier says
Thanks for doing this, Christie…my mom died from ovarian cancer and I’ve had several friends battle breast cancer, so this is a cause close to my heart. I appreciate you sharing this important issue in a beautiful way.
Christy says
Aww I am so sorry to hear about your mom, Carroll. I am blessed to have this platform in which to do this. Fortunately, early detection can literally be a life saver when it comes to breast cancer.💗
Lisa Pais says
Loved seeing these pink pieces, so pretty and cheery. Well done.
Christy says
Thanks so much, Lisa! XOXO
