Hey there, beautiful friends and welcome to Trash-to-Treasure Tuesday! There is little I love more than transforming junk into jewels, and today, I’m being joined by my talented friends who also have makeovers to share! Be sure to look for links to their projects at the bottom.
I’m especially excited about today’s makeover because it is the FINAL PIECE from my Spring 2022 Haul!!
I saved this one for last because honestly, I wasn’t very inspired by it at all.
I decided to pair it with this cigar box to create something new altogether:
I’ve included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I love.
I figured I could use the cigar box to create a pocket on the front:
To do that, I started by removing the back of the cigar box and whacking the bottom of it out:
Then I got to painting! I gave both pieces two coats of Fluff:
I describe Fluff as more of a vintage white…it’s not quite as bright as Cotton. It is wonderful because it covers in just TWO coats! ( I used it on our main bedroom furniture HERE.)
Once they were dry, I used E6000 Glue (They now have a no-stink version!!) to attach the cigar box to the front to create that pocket:
I left that to dry overnight.
Then, I pulled out my Classic Vintage Labels mini transfer set and added the perfect one to the front:
This transfer comes with a bunch of mini transfers that are perfect for smaller projects like this!
You can see 10 more mini makeovers using this transfer set HERE.
I gave the edges a little extra sanding with 220 grit sandpaper to distress a bit. The final step was to seal, and I did that with Best Dang Wax in clear.
The After
Here’s how this unlikely pair look now!
Better, no??
The flowers could easily be changed out seasonally, or you could even use it for incoming mail.
I love how it turned out!
Do y’all remember the basket?
It’s one that I just had to keep. It started out like this:
And I shared it as part of this Painting the Smalls post.
It sneaks its way into my photos every so often.
How about the chair?
I shared that one HERE, and it started out like this:
Not so cute there lol. So much better now!
I share this in my photos all the time!
Altogether, they make a sweet vignette!
I hope you enjoyed seeing what these pieces could be!

Good job! Silly me…I thought the vintage sign was made out of fabric. That’s why I couldn’t make sense of it at first. I really like it.

I could not figure out what you would do with the plaque. The design on it looked like it was raised. It turned out to be such a cute wall pocket. Looking forward to your next haul.

I went back to see your bedroom furniture! Jaw dropping! We have dark wood too, but hubby isn’t on board yet about painting it. I don’t have the patience either, but maybe one day!!
