Just in Time for Valentine’s Day

Love Lives Here Sign

The awesome thing about being crafty is you can make gifts that cost very little. This works out great for me since I'm crafty(and cheap)! You may remember the "Bless this Barn" sign  I made out of my neighbor's old gate. It was heading for the trash and I saved it's life. Poor gate never saw it coming...the sign I made out of it was a Christmas gift for my husband's parents. They have horses and I thought this would be a perfect gift to hang at the entrance to their barn. You may also … [Read more...]

New Winter Wreath

DIY Twig Wreath

I would like to say that the ideas on my blog are all my own and I am a creative genius.  Well, I'd like to say that but there are times when I am inspired by the amazing work of others. Most of my projects are the product of  "I'm cheap"+"Hey I found this (insert any miscellaneous item here), what can I do with it?!" However in this case, I was inspired by this adorable wreath Karianne at Thistlewood Farms made. I always have a hard time with what to hang on my door after the … [Read more...]

Kids Say the Darndest Things

SONY DSC

Even at 10 years old, my son still comes up with things that crack me up. The other night at dinner, we were talking about the upcoming Superbowl. If you don't follow football, its down to the 49ers and the Ravens.  Both teams'  head coaches are brothers. We were talking about how it would be harder to enjoy the win if it were against your brother.  After much consideration,  my beautiful, very smart son says. "Well, technically if they share a room, they can share the trophy!"  He was so … [Read more...]

Free Pillow!

Cute cotton pillow

How about: I made this pillow for free! I was looking for a pretty white cotton pillow as the finishing piece for my bed but I had a hard time finding  just what I wanted.  Bed  Bath and Beyond wanted $49.99 for one I sort of liked.  Not in this lifetime! Here's what I came up with:   Cute right?  It's not what I had in mind when I … [Read more...]

How to Make This Adorable Pillow

Cute cotton pillow

The pillow I made was 20" wide X 16" tall.  Any measurements included in these instructions are based on this pillow. I made my pillow form about an inch smaller all the way around. It's bulk will still fill the finished pillow in nicely.  If you prefer to use a ready made form, just skip those steps.      Now just turn your pillow right side out and insert your pillow form. Voila! Pretty! … [Read more...]

Does that sound like something crazy or what?!  How many of you were so excited about finding just the perfect sectional only to realize that once you got it home or lived with it a while, it was not the perfect seating choice after all?  Pick me, pick me (as my husband always says when he has the answer), me!
