Reupholstered French Provincial Chairs

Hey there awesome Friends! I am really excited about today's makeover! I'm sharing how I transformed a pair of chairs I found at the thrift store at least two years ago. Isn't that ridiculous? I knew they were going to be a ton of work, so I just kept overlooking them. Well I am SO thrilled that they are finally done!! I've included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I use. Bonus!! Five of my furniture fixer upper friends are also sharing furniture makeovers today as well so … [Read more...]

How to Make a Sectional Slipcover Part 2: Cushion Covers

Hello there and welcome to part two of my Sectional Slipcover Tutorial: Covering the Cushions! If you missed part one, you can catch up here. There is nothing unique about covering sectional cushions verses sofa cushions, except maybe that the cushions may not all be created equal as often is the case with a standard sofa. For this reason I measured each sectional cushion individually, so each cover is custom to that cushion. That accounts for the very tailored fit my cushions … [Read more...]

Upholstering a French Provincial Chair

Who out there has a chair in need of a serious wardrobe change? I do I do! Or at least I did. My Mom passed on a set of French Provincial chairs to me that she picked up at an estate sale. They were so bad, ya'll. Many of you know exactly what chairs I'm referring to. These lovelies: Only they weren't always so lovely... Were they? If you can't tell, the fabric has a terrible paint job. I posted this makeover back in the fall and I had many requests to see the how-to on the … [Read more...]

How to Make Double Welting for Upholstery {without double welting cord}

When I shared my French Provincial Chair Makeover recently, I had several people interested in seeing how I did it.  It seems there are a lot of upholstery projects waiting for their big makeovers out there! Today I am sharing how I made the welting that finishes off the edges so nicely. Then I will soon follow up with the chair upholstery. There are too … [Read more...]

Upholstered Headboard

Hi all! I found this gorgeous headboard on a Facebook yard sale group a couple of months ago and had to go see it. A local upholstering company was selling it out of their warehouse. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was coming home with me, only it was  four days later. It was so big, there was no way it was going to fit into my SUV, so I had to end up picking it up with my hubby's truck...on my birthday! It was listed at $75, but the girl selling it took my offer of $60. What a steal! It's … [Read more...]

French Provincial Chair Makeover

Today I am so excited to share my French Provincial Chair makeover with you!  I'm excited mostly because they are done! As you can see by the preview photo, this story has a happy ending. But it wasn't without a few bumps (and blisters) in the road. My Mom and I spied these chairs at an estate sale last Friday. We passed on them, knowing they required a lot of work, but she had a change of heart and went back for them on Saturday. Luckily everything was 50% 0ff and she scored these two … [Read more...]

Desk Chair Makeover

If you follow me on Facebook, you may have seen the hint I gave about what I was working on yesterday, while the rainy weather had me confined to the house: This arm belongs to this chair:   I found this chair at the thrift store for $40.  You may be looking at  it and wondering why on earth I dragged this home for $40?  It is without a doubt, the most comfortable and supportive desk chair my behind and I have ever experienced.  It had to come home with me. When I got … [Read more...]
