Whose up for a little field trip today?? But first, let me say congratulations to Janet from Maine for winning my blogiversary giveaway! She has been notified and her package is on the way. Thank you to everyone who entered!
Alrighty now let’s go visit my booth, shall we? If you’re new around here, I have a booth at the Virginia Beach Antique Mall here in Virginia Beach where I sell all my made-over treasures.
Sweet friends, the last time we took a trip to my booth was in the Spring (see that post HERE), and it looked something like this:
I had a lot of furniture and it was almost at max capacity. Each time I visit and drop off new pieces, I take a few photos. I think it’s fun to see what comes and goes.
That blue hutch and blue and white china cabinet both sold, leaving a big empty hole and I was on the hunt for furniture again.
I brought in this desk and chair set (and that trumpet case):
I also brought in my favorite kids’ table and chair set that I’ve redone:
Its first makeover was a girly one and it had sat in my booth way too long, so I took it home to give it a redo. It turns out one of the chairs was broken, but luckily it was an easy fix, and I and gave it a new look anyway.
Here’s the other side of my booth with that big white hutch I redid:
The desk and chair set sold as well as the kids’ table and chair set, so I moved my kidney shaped desk/dressing table into that spot on the wall (The matching chair sold almost right away when I brought it in.):
It sold not long after moving it there. I love walking into my booth to see those red “SOLD” tags!
Then I popped in a week later and the blue antique hot mess dresser had sold as well. Yay and crap…I need to find more stuff!!
I decided to move a few things around and moved the white hutch over to this side:
I brought in this pretty serpentine dresser to put where the hutch was. I was finally able to part with it:
I also brought in this antique high chair…
And this sweet little bookcase as well:
That bookcase sold and I brought in my TV cabinet turned storage armoire:
That didn’t last long and I came in to find that the hutch had sold as well:
Again I moved a few things around and brought in this pretty dresser that I did in a mix of stain and paint (and that breadbox):
My poor oval French provincial tables (the mate is on the other side) are still here. I decided to take them home and paint the tops all white. That seemed to freshen them up.
Then I brought in this pretty blue white washed dresser I redid not too long ago:
I found that silver teapot made into a lamp at a yard sale this Summer. I just bought a shade for it.
I also picked up these sweater pillows recently at at the thrift store. There were a bunch of them that looked brand new as if they had been made to sell and this is what was left over. These were the only two that I liked though…
I don’t often find things I can just tag and put in my booth, and these have already sold!
And here is the state of my booth right now:
You can see my little black bench peeking out at the back there. Looks a wee bit out of place in a sea of light colors, but hopefully it will sell quickly.
That striped dresser needs to find a home soon. I have been keeping my eye out for a small night table that I can paint to match to make it a set.
Things always eventually sell though. They just need the right buyer to come along!
If you missed my last booth update, you can find it HERE.

I’ll meet y’all back here Tuesday to share what I did with these holiday houses I picked up at the thrift store:
UPDATE: Check out how I reimagined these little houses HERE now!
XOXO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!

Wow you sure sell a lot through that booth. I wish I lived in Virginia so that I could go buy some of the things that you recreate! I will miss you on Thursday, but will be busy with Thanksgiving, I hope you and your family have a really beautiful Thanksgiving. Thanks for always doing great post on recreating beautiful things and furniture. You are always such a great inspiration to me and I am Thankful for you and what you do all year long. Thank you for showing off your booth!! I could look at it for hours!! I love everything you do. I try to get ideas from your booth, mine is severely lacking ????. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Christy says
Aww I’m so happy you enjoyed it, Debbie!! Thank you! Don’t worry mine has its sad moments too! XOXO
Kathy says
What teal color and brand did you use for hutch?
Christy says
I used Behr’s Sunken Pool made into DIY chalk paint. You can see more of that makeover here: https://www.confessionsofaserialdiyer.com/60-thrift-store-hutch-makeover/ 🙂
Christina in SW FL says
Christy, I adore touring your booth over time.:) Seeing what has a new home and who is looking for one. 🙂 If you wrote this, I missed it… how often do you visit your booth?
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
Christy says
Yay!! I enjoy looking back to see what has com and gone as well. I usually visit every other week. Have a blessed Thanksgiving too! XOXO
Elizabeth Marchak says
Hi Christy, I live on an island in Maine and am interested in the rectangular wicker basket you have propped up on top of one of the hutches. Do you ship? How much is it? Feel free to message me privately and let me know if this is possible. Many thanks, Beth Marchak
Christy says
Hi Beth! Unfortunately that has already sold. I usually only ship items that will fit in a flat rate USPS box. That would have been pricey because it was so large! XO
Patricia Wilson says
I love what you do with the pieces that you find. Seems you see the beauty in the most awful looking pieces. Thanks for sharing.
Christy says
Aww thank you, Patricia! I do have a soft spot for some of those ugly ducklings! XOXO
Marie B. says
Your booth is always so beautiful, Christy and congratulations on having such a successful venue to sell your pieces! I miss having a booth, especially after looking at your lovely photos. Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Christy says
Aww thank you, Marie! It seems like I sold a lot, but I still had a couple months where I didn’t make hardly a thing! I do sell though, and for that I am grateful. It probably helps that I’ve been there almost 5 years! Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes, my friend! XOXO
Claudine says
I always love your booth tours. 🙂 Congratulations on all these sales!
Christy says
Thank you so much, Claudine! I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour! XO

Thank you so much, Marg! I truly appreciate your kind words! XOXO
Rebecca Clark says
Love the booth tour. You are rocking it! Are your framed chalkboards still a good seller?
Christy says
Thanks, Rebecca! Yes! Surprisingly, they still sell well. XO
Wendy says
Have a Happy Thanksgiving Christy to you and your family. We had ours back in October. I like that yours is closer to Christmas. I love your shop. Just wish we had something like that here where I live. Although there are lots of cottages around in my province, Just no place to sell our wares except Kijiji. Not really the same though. My Garage would be full!! LOL Have a great weekend as well.
Christy says
Thank you, Wendy! I do enjoy having Thanksgiving a little later as the weather is a bit cooler. I’m going to get good and fat on Thursday, and then I’ll be ready to get back to work ha ha! Maybe you need to open a shop? Hey if there’s a market for it, right? Enjoy the rest of your week! XOXO
Sandra says
Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Christy says
Thank you, Sandra! Same to you! XO
Mariele says
I love the booth tours! I’m always amazed at how you can sell everything… not because of a lack of skill and artistry on your part (which are always phenomenal), but because I had no idea there’s such a market! I live out in Iowa and the only place that sells painted furniture around here that I know of is an antique store, and I think the same pieces have been there since I started going 8 months ago…
Love to see how the booth looks. Everything in it looks so tempting! So fun to see the pieces you refreshed looking all sparkly and styled up, ready for a new home. 🙂
Christy says
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the tour, Mariele! I am very blessed that my pieces sell well, and I think it has to do with the fact that we live right on the coast. I think a lot of people in my area enjoy the whites and blues. 🙂 XOXO
Donna says
Your booth is doing a good business! So many pretty things…I can see why they sell quickly. Enjoy your Thanksgiving! xoxo
Christy says
Thank you, Donna! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well! XOXO
LeAnn J Hileman says
Thanks for the tour, I enjoyed it. You and yours have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, LeAnn! Happy Thanksgiving to you too! XOXO
Denise says
Love the grey armoire with the stenciled doors. That should be mine! 😉 Happy Thanksgiving Christy. 🙂
Christy says
Aww I loved that one too! If only I had the space for it! Thanks, Denise! I’m not cooking so I’m going to enjoy this one for real! XOXO
Kimberly says
Christy, your booth is always adorable. I don’t know how you keep up with it and everything else you do, but it is very inspiring. Happy Thanksgiving!
Christy says
Thank you, Kimberly! The projects that I blog about feed my booth, so it’s not too bad having both! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! XOXO
gwen says
How fun to see your pieces come and go! I’m amazed at the stash you must have somewhere else just waiting its turn to make it into your booth. Everything looks so clean and fresh! Thanks for the tour!
Christy says
Thank you, Gwen! I enjoy looking back at what has come and gone as well. I don’t usually have extra stock anywhere. But if I sell a large piece, then I’ll hunt for something to replace it and paint it pretty quickly. XOXO
Robyn Wright says
Sales! Sales! Sales! How wonderful! All of your pieces are gorgeous!
Christy says
Thank you, Robyn!! XOXO
Jo Trujillo says
Your booth is beautiful! If I’m ever in Virginia Beach I will surely be stopping in to see what I can take home! I have a booth too. In Colorado Springs. I currently have a bunch of smalls and just a few pieces of furniture. I’m working on changing it up so it’s at least half and half. I think it might do better. Thank you for the inspiration! When I do something that was inspired by your style I’ll tag you on Instagram so you can see it!
Christy says
Thank you, Jo! The smalls are important too…they keep the booth going when the larger pieces aren’t selling. It seems I never have enough of them! Yes! Please do you tag me on IG. Hope you and yours have a blessed Thanksgiving! XOXO
Mariann says
Love your furniture updates. You are very inspiring. I have a few pieces I plan on painting and selling at a local consignment shop. I was wondering what paint colors you have found that sell well. Thanks!
Christy says
Thank you so much, Mariann! I live on the coast, so tranquil coastal colors do well for me here. That includes lots of white of course and soft blues and grays. I always share the specific colors that I use, so if there is something that you like in this post just click through to see what paint color I used. Best of luck to you! XO
Rose Lefebvre says
You have such lovely things in your booth!!!
Christy says
Thank you, Rose! If only I could keep them all ha ha!
Addie says
I loved the little pink table and chairs set……surprised it didn’t sell~pink. I also loved the french tables with the striped top. Maybe it is an east coast west coast thing!
I now love the black bench…..but it is tucked in too deep. I think it should be out in front taking center stage. It could draw in more people that aren’t “blue, grey and whiters”.
Hope you have a Blessed Thanksgiving in your new home!!!
Addie XXOO
PS You should whip up some of those toaster covers!!! I bet they would sell fast!!!
Christy says
I loved that little pink set as well, and I think it was just the broken chair that stopped it from selling. Don’t know why I never noticed it when I stopped in there. Yes I really should move the black bench forward. I need to go in and do a complete re-arrange. My son was with me when I dropped that off, so we were in and out quickly. Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes, my friend. May you and yours have a blessed day as well! XOXO
Becky says
Lovey! I always enjoy your booth tours. : ) Great ideas for my craft show booth! Thanks!
Christy says
Thanks, Becky!! I always enjoy looking at other people’s booths as well! XOXO
Bonnie says
Always love seeing the updates on the booth. Being in one spot for years helps with the buyer’s not having to search everywhere to find their favorite seller ???? After all these years of following you I can HONESTLY say there has not been that many things I haven’t liked. May God Bless you and your family on Thursday Christy. Hugs!
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Bonnie! I really appreciate that! And yes…I do think that being in the same space for several years now really helps. I hope you had a blessed day! XOXO
Karen Lawson says
Thank you Christy for sharing your beautiful booth and tips for success. I always love everything that you do! My husband and I are thinking of renting a booth and wondering what you feel a good rental fee is. Thank you again for sharing your talents and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Christy says
Thank you so much, Karen! It’s been so long since I signed my contract where I rent that I forget exactly what my rental fee is per square foot, but I want to say it’s $10. I also pay 10% of what I make and 5% on credit card purchases. If you have a venue that allows you to go month to month like I do, you can give it a try for a few months and see how it goes. Best of luck to you, and I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving! XO
Bente says
Hi Christy,as usual your booth looks amazing, you are such an inspiration to me and many others! I love what you do and I love how you write, you always give me a giggle! So strap on your fat pants and enjoy your Thanksgiving and have a well deserved break!
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Bente! You are so sweet! And I sure did bust out the fat pants today ha ha! Hope you did too!! XOXO
Cecilia says
I always enjoy a trip to your booth! I love getting to see it since I am so far away. Can’t believe the French oval tables are still there. They are so pretty! Happy Thanksgiving, Christy!
Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoy visiting my booth, Cecilia, even if it’s just a virtual visit! I’m surprised the oval tables are still there as well. Oh well! Hope you enjoyed a blessed Thanksgiving! XOXO
Karen Lawson says
Thank you!
Christy says
Of course! 🙂
Petra says
Well, if I lived over there, those oval bedside tables would’ve been sold already (to me) 😉
Christy says
I wish you could have them too! XO
Julie Briones says
So fun, thanks for the tour! Hugs, sweet friend!
Christy says
So glad you enjoyed it, Julie! Thank you! Have a great weekend! XOXO
Mary says
Loved the booth tour as always. Your work is some of the finest on the tube, always enjoy seeing what you do! If I might make one suggestion it would be, that is if you haven’t sold it yet. Redo the bread box by putting Bread Box on it. If I were close,I would buy it. Just my lil two cents worth of advice????. Thanks for all your sharing.
Christy says
Thank you, Mary, I appreciate that so much! The bread box has sold, but that was a great suggestion! XO
