Hello, lovelies!! Today, I’m sharing my creative workspace and storage solutions that work for me AKA the great garage purge of 2026! Before I can share my workspace, which is in our garage, I needed to do a major clean out! There was so much in this space that just wasn’t working. I spent SIX days getting every corner under control!
The catalyst for the big clean out
Do you know what sparked the urge to purge this space?
This little fella:

Our house did not have a utility sink, so I would take all my brushes into the kitchen to wash them. I paint A LOT, and because I am constantly washing brushes, I never liked the idea of washing my brushes where we clean our dishes and prepare our food. Oh how I have longed for a sink in the garage!
I’ve included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I love.
Let’s back up a bit now and start from the beginning!
Here was our garage, a la my workspace, before from the outside:

Luckily, our garage opens on the side of the house, so passers by can’t really see all the mess. Maybe it doesn’t look too terrible there (or maybe it does?), but lets get a closer look at this space! I’ll show the before and after of each area as I take you clockwise around the space!
Tool Storage
Let’s start with this left, front corner as you come in the door:

This is where we store most of our tools. I hung the pegboard when we first moved in to store all of our hand tools.
I had three of these organizers for all the screws and nails, and whatever else fit in them…

Why did I need three of these?
I didn’t. One of them was once my dad’s and it was still filled with his things. There were five drawers of these:

Did I think I was going to use them for something? Five drawers of them? I kept a lot of other wood bits and pieces he gave me, and I have used many of them, but these were used as perches for birdhouse he built that my mom painted. They sold hundreds of them back when we did craft markets. (Stay tuned…I found a relic of my own from those days during my purge!)
I decided I would keep just one of these organizers and opted to keep my dad’s. I washed out all the drawers and spray painted the box they were in to make it as fresh as possible.
Then I sorted every last screw, nail, and washer:

When I say I touched EVERYTHING in this garage, I mean it!
I also extended the peg board to the bottom and reorganized the peg board wall:

If you have the wall space, this is such a great way to organize tools.
These things are my favorite, perfect for all the screw drivers, but I like them even more for organizing all my pliers…

I also picked up a few of these from Home Depot for items that don’t hang:

And here is dad’s organizer:

All fresh and new!
Power tool Storage
To the right is where we store all of our smaller power tools:

I found that rolling wood cart on the curb in our old neighbor hood and grabbed it right on up!
We use it as a charging station for our Ryobi batteries (this charger holds six batteries…awesome if you have a bunch!) and the power tools live in the bin at the bottom.

Some people have much fancier ways to display their tools, and treat them like trophies, but with very limited wall space, this works for us!
Our bikes are just to the right of that. I took them outside and gave them a good hose off, vacuumed where they had been and put them back.
The new Sink Area
Beyond that is the door to the house and the corner I needed to clear out in order to accommodate my new sink!

That is where I kept all the spare wood, bead board, trim, etc. The other side of that wall is our laundry room, so I needed that wall for my sink. That is what got the ball rolling on an entire garage redo…the challenge to find a new home for my scrap pile!
(We’ll get there!)
Here is that corner now…all hubby’s garden and smoker things…

Actual Garage Items
The large, metal shelf next to it held all the real garage things…car washing stuff, extension cords, gardening items, etc.

It was overflowing!
See the door just to the left of the shelf? That leads to our crawl space and my hubby was concerned that it might be difficult to access that space once we put a sink there, so my plan was to move the shelf to the right about a foot or so. No problem right?
Except when I put it together just after moving in in 2017, I did this:

I would need to remove everything and disassemble the whole thing! Or would I?

Ha ha nope!

I did paint myself into a corner though…

It always gets worse before it gets better, right?
I got the shelf reassembled. Then, I removed anything that didn’t need to be stored in the garage like the pool floats and body boards, purged a bunch of crap, and organized everything else that was staying on the shelves.
Here’s another view before:

Here is where it ended up:

So much better!
Here is that corner now:

My Main Workspace
This was our view from the door before:

You’re looking at my main workspace there.
It consists of these two metal storage cabinets on the left that house all my paint supplies:

And two large work tables plus a rolling cart on the right:

This set up was super functional, so I knew I wanted to keep this basic layout.
In that back corner was also a very large wood cabinet that was a house warming gift from my parents when I bought my first home:

It was originally a TV cabinet, but I painted it gray and kept it for extra supply storage when we moved here. That was before I bought the metal cabinets.
It held my stencils and spray paint…

On the bottom was all my house painting supplies.
The big drawer in the middle just held junk I never used.
And look who found up on top:

I should have fluffed her hair a bit. I made her probalby 25 years ago back when I used to make and sell dolls. I sold a ton of these along with an Andy that made them a set. I also found a book with pictures of everything I used to make. If y’all ever want to see them, it might be a fun share. Let me know in the comments!
After that short trip down memory lane, it was back to work!
This corner would be the perfect spot to relocate my scrap storage!
But, if I wanted to get rid of that cabinet, I would need to find a better solution for storing my stencils, some of which were very large. I would also need to rehome my spray paints and house painting items.
Done, done, and done!
The painting supplies fit perfectly in a bin and and ended up on the metal shelves.
I also found a solution for the spray paints and stencils which you’ll see soon.
I emptied out the cabinet and got to work moving this huge cabinet out of that corner!
Did I mention I spent SIX days on this purge??
Here is that corner empty!

Next, I moved on to organizing the metal cabinets. I love these cabinets! They are made of metal and are super sturdy.
Cabinet #1
The first one holds all my decoupage papers, transfers, and most of my lamp shades:

It was so unorganized!
And here it is looking not quite so crazy:

I’ve been asked how I organize all my transfer pieces. The larger ones, I keep in their tubes, and now that the newer ones come in flat packaging, I save the original plastic to store them in.
For the smaller transfers, I bought this portfolio book with pouches that works great! I had really let it go though, tossing my leftover pieces in a plastic bin rather than taking a minute to file them in the book.
I sorted and organized all the pieces once again:

I might grab another one for the decoupage papers, but for now, I have those pieces folded in a bin:

Cabinet Number two is where all the main goods are kept though!
Cabinet #2
Here was this cabinet before:

It was overflowing too!
I went through every item and between this and the larger wood cabinet, I ended up purging a whole trash bag full!
I had been hanging onto old supplies I knew I would never use again.
Here is how this cabinet looked after:

That’s where my spray paint landed! I purged so much that I was able to store all of my spray paint (primer, chalkboard paint included) in there.
Everything stacks neatly and the smaller items are corralled in a bin:

Fabric Storage
Above these cabinets is where I stored all my fabrics in bins, but they were getting a bit too full, so I ordered another half dozen on Amazon HERE and resorted them by color:

This is the best way I have found to keep my fabrics organized. I just pull down the bins with the color I’m interestd in and I can quickly find what I need.

This keeps them clean also, since it can get quite dusty out here.
Did I mention that I vacuumed EVERY SINGLE ITEM in the garage??
The culprit for most of that dusty mess has been addressed and you’ll see that soon.
I gathered all the lamps on top of the other cabinet:

And here is this whole area now:

As you can see, my scrap pile has found its new home!

I really purged that too!
My workspace tables
Having a work surface is a must and with all the projects I do, I needed a lot of space to spread out!

On the end there I have a rolling cart type thing that was once our tiny island in our old kitchen. I like that I can roll it around as needed, but it honesly just stays here now because there’s little room to roll it anywhere.
Next to that is this work table I built for our old garage out of plywood my dad gave me and a some 4x4s.

It has served me well for many years! (That old school pencil sharpener was in our garage growing up!)
I removed, cleaned, and organized everything. This holds all my picture frames, a couple of bins of smalls like candlesticks, and items I use often.

A couple of years ago, I aquired this storage work bench from the Home Depot:

I had always had my eye on something like this, but I never liked how narrow the top work surface on these pieces are. One day as I was having a closer look, I spied another work bench that was just the work surface by itself with no storage.
What if I put them together??
So that is exactly what I did!

Once I have my drop cloth on top. It looks like one very large surface! I store my table saw underneath the other table on the other side.
This is by far the hardest worker in my workspace!
And it was so worth the investment! You can find this one on the Home Depot website HERE. And guess what they make now?? A one-piece version of the two I have together. You can see that on their site HERE! I do like that I have the option to separate mine though.
The drawers are amazing for storing so many things I use to be creative. The top drawer is huge:

The rest of the drawers hold everthing from pulls and knobs to moulds and everything in between:

On the wall beyond my work tables was once where we hung our gardening tools:

Womp womp womp. Totally not functional when you can’t reach it!
I took down the tool hanger and replaced it with hooks that now hold my spray shelters…

AND…
MY STENCIL Storage!!

How perfect is this bag for storing stencils? It was super cheap on Amazon HERE, and it zips closed to keep out any dust!
My kraft papers ended up down below:

And here is my work area all pretty now!

The rolling cart was moved to the center to keep it mobile, and now I can get to my brushes more easily hanging on the end here:

(I lay them flat to dry on a plastic plate and then hang them when they’re dry.)
The Dust and Debris Culprit
If we continue clockwise along the window wall, this is what was beyond the tables:

What a mess! That stand for my miter saw was a well-meaning gift from my hubby a few Christmases ago. I had previoulsy had it on a small cart on wheels that I could easily roll out to the driveway to use. This stand, however, is not on wheels, and it takes up SO much space!
He meant well though, so I used it. Because I couldn’t move it, sawdust got everywhere!
I finally told him it wasn’t working out and happily put my little cart to use again:

Garden Tool Storage
To the right of that is where all the garden tools ended up:

Antother big ole mess! We don’t have a shed, so they have to live in here.
I jumped on Amazon once again and found this awesome storage cart on wheels:

My hubby loves it, and that corner is so much neater now!

That just leaves the big mess in the middle!
Remember when I started this haul back in October and my garage looked like this?

My haul is looking quite whimpy and picked through now!

I had pulled so many pieces out and really needed to restack it!
Here is that view now:

I can almost park a car in there!
This view before:

And after!

Here’s the view from the front again before:

And after:

Come on in!!
That pile of items under the stairs there are things that can go to my booth:

But the best vew of all to me is the one I see when I open the door from the house!
Before:

And now!!

There was only one casualty:

Not to worry… I have another:

Why do I even have these?
And that is the great garage purge of 2026!!
I know y’all probably didn’t want to see every single corner of our garage, but it was too hard to share just one area lol. I hope you enjoyed seeing my workspace and maybe even found it helpful to see how I have it organized! Let me know what you found helpful!
I’ll be back on Thursday with this fantastic little piece and my Furniture Fixer Upper crew:

Hi Christy! Love your garage purge update!! I found it very helpful to use a cardboard wardrobe moving box for scrap wood pile, especially long pieces… wanted to pass that idea slong to you. Thank you again for your wonderful site and business!!! Kelly C in Colorado
Christy says
Thank you, Kelly! That’s a fantastic idea…thanks for sharing!! XOXO
Kathy W. says
Christy, I need a nap after seeing everything you did to organize your workspace!!! I bet you need a vacation after 6 days of cleaning and organizing!! It looks incredible!!!! I’m inspired now (because of you) to get busy on my She Shed (a.k.a., our garage) to make it more functional for crafting and creating!! Thank you!! Seeing your space is just the inspiration I needed. oxox

Bonjour.Le rangement commence toujours, par une grande pagaille, chez moi aussi..! Félicitations pour ce beau travail ; après on se sent plus léger. Maintenant,je dois faire la même chose, dans mon garage, mais il est plus petit . Amitiés depuis la France. Georgina.
Christy says
Merci, Georgina ! Je me sens vraiment tellement plus légère. Et oui, c’est toujours le plus grand désordre juste avant que tout ne soit propre ! Profite bien de l’organisation de ton propre espace ! XOXO
Valerie Nirala says
I always enjoy seeing real work spaces, instead of the gorgeous ones on Pinterest or social media. I always wonder who works in those picture-perfect spaces. Yours is much more believable (and useful, I imagine)! Thanks for sharing :).
Christy says
I totally agree! Mine is used for actual work ha ha! Thank you, Valerie! XOXO
Kim Yost says
Good morning Christy,
That was a fun tour! Your workspace looks fantastic! I’m looking forward to seeing your project on Thursday. I would love to see the dolls you use to make. You are very talented and inspiring to me. Great job on the workspace, looking forward to many more projects you have for us in the future!
Christy says
Hi Kim! I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour. I think it would be fun to share my dolls, so I will do that soon. Thank you so much! XOXO
Janice Redden says
Christy, what a huge difference a spring clean-out can make. Super job! Now I have to get busy and straighten up my studio!!! It’s part painting and part potting area. It gets messy. I love love all your organizing solutions, especially the paints. I have to keep mine somewhat mobile so I can bring them into the garage from October-spring due to cold temps where I store them in a cooler. Did you paint that sink pink and the legs black?!!! Or just the lighting on the sink……Enjoy your new space
PS – can you remind us how you hooked up your sander to your wet/dry vac?
Christy says
Thank you, Janice! Right? I didn’t share my purge pile, but I was able to get rid of so much, and it feels so good. Painting does get messy, but I’m sure potting is worse. My sink does indeed have a pink hue to it ha ha…fine by me! As for the shop vac/sander connection, I’m sure you could find an adapter that has both the size of your vac on one end and the size of the sander on the other, but I used gorilla tape lol. You can see it here: https://www.confessionsofaserialdiyer.com/painted-pine-dresser/ XOXO
Jessica says
Thank you for sharing this! I always enjoy seeing how other crafty people store their supplies.

I’m so glad you enjoyed this, Jessica, thank you! XOXO

Christy says
Thank you so much, Josee! I walked out there this morning to work on my project for Thursday, and I was literally giddy! It’s so nice to have everything organized! I’m glad you liked my doll… I have lots more to share, and I sure will! Take care, my friend! XOXO
Cletia says
Fantastic! I’m inspired! Mine is a hot mess
Christy says
Thank you, my friend! I feel like mine has been in a constant hot mess state lol, but no more! I took back control ha ha! XOXO
Kathy Cannon says
Wow! Tres fabulous!! Ill send a car! Please come and redo mine too! Looks amazing!
Christy says
Thank you so much, Kathy! My mom said the same thing lol! XOXO
Denise Dorn says
Wow! Wow! Wow! What an amazing clean-up and organize you did. I will admit I am exhausted and I didn’t life a finger. It all looks great and you should be so very proud. And yes, I would love to see your pics of what you made. I love that doll and can only imagine what other treasures you created. One question — where do you keep all your Halloween items? Thanks so much for sharing your organization journey. Hmmmmm maybe I should give my stuff a reorg.
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Denise! Ha ha… I am exhausted, but it was so worth it! I’ll be sure to share pictures of what else I made…there were some real cuties! My Halloween items live in our attic. It’s so funny to go up there in the summer to grab a cooler and see them all looking at us. Lol! I’m glad you enjoyed this!! XOXO
Kay says
Loved seeing this, thanks for sharing!
Christy says
You’re so welcome, Kay! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! XOXO
Donna says
Amazing job! I have done similar in our garage and it really helps to touch everything so you know where everything is. A lot of work, but so satisfying to finish. I realized my messy workspace was actually stressful and my new organized space is like a shot of dopamine every time I walk into the garage. Love your blog. I look forward to seeing your work and how you turn old pieces in to new treasures
Christy says
Thank you so much, Donna! Yes! My husband found a random screw on the floor out there, and I showed him exactly where it goes lol. And you hit the nail on the head…a messy workspace is stressful and I am literally giddy when I walk out there now. And I appreciate that…I’m so glad you enjoy what I share! XOXO
Nancy says
Great job! I was getting ready to do mine and really appreciate all your organization and work flow ideas – thank you!
Christy says
Thank you, Nancy! I hope you found some ideas that might be helpful for your own! Happy organizing! XOXO
Patricia Masson says
This was such a helpful post! I don’t have all the craft/painting tools and supplies that you have but still have a mess in my garage. Seeing how you rearranged and stored things is an inspiration for me to tackle my garage! Thank you!
Christy says
I’m so glad you found this helpful, Patricia! And I love that you found some motivation for your own! Have fun! XOXO
Marj says
Love your new sink! Everything looks amazing…how did you do that in six days!! Would enjoy seeing your dolls.
Christy says
Thank you, Marj! My body is feeling it now ha ha! I will be happy to share my dolls…I’ll do that soon! XOXO
Terrym says
I got some very good ideas from your organization, I especially liked your hanging bag for holding stencils, your brushes hanging in one place at the end of your work table, and your fabric in clear totes. Being organized is a must for any type of craft. I am organized, my problem is putting it back where I found it after I use it. Sometimes it piles up, but then I ‘ll take an hour and put it all away. I can’t start a new project unless my work space is clean. You did a nice job organizing yours.
Christy says
Oh yay… I love that you found some good ideas! I am such a messy creator and struggle to put things away right away also, and I too have to have a somewhat neat space to start the next project! Thank you, Terry! XOXO
Charleen says
I can’t believe you did this in six days. You must have spent more than 8 hours each on it. Fabulous job, and I do mean a job. Could you come organize mine?? Lol. It is freeing to clean an area and it’s all so new again. Love ya ,girl. Now create with a lightened heart. Yes,we want to see your portfolio.
Christy says
My body feels it that is for sure ha ha! You are the sweetest, thank you!! I do feel so free now… I walked out there this morning to work on Thursday’s project, and I was literally giddy! I’ll share my little creations from the past soon! XOXO
Cindy Lee says
Wow! What an amazing transformation! Nothing worse than being a contortionist in your workspace! Reorganizing my garage is on my 2026 to-do list as well. I’m always inspired by what you do 🙂 I just don’t comment enough. LOL And…..OH MY! My heart is saddened by the hanging horse that you have had FOREVER!! 🙁 I hope it finds a good home!
Christy says
Thank you so much, Cindy Lee! At one point when I was working on the pegboard wall, I hardly had any space and my hubby must have heard me complaining so he said, “Why don’t you create a path for yourself?” But the reason I didn’t have any space is because I had a created a path for him to get in and out of the garage lol! I love that you find inspiration here…that means the world to me! And while of course I love chatting with y’all here in the comments, I know life is busy, so I am still so grateful that you take the time to read my posts! And yes, girl, you have been with me a long time to remember that horse!! XOXO
Donna W says
Hey Christie, all your before pictures are what my garage looks like. LOL. You did a fantastic job. Not only is my garage a mess , but so are my spare bedrooms. I’m in NC, but worry about keeping my paint in garage. I’m afraid with the temperature swings it will not be good for paint. Do you not worry about ? Right now I can only dream of reorganizing my garage. Thanks for sharing this. You are still my best inspiration. Love all your work.
Christy says
Aww I appreciate that so much, Donna, thank you! My garage is nice and neat now, but other spaces in my home have become messy in the process lol. As for my paints being stored in the garage, the wall where the cabinets are is shared by our dining room on the other side, so it stays pretty temperature controlled. The only thing I have had issues with is Big Mama’s Butta that has gotten super soft when we’ve had extremely high temps for a long period of time. Everything else has done just fine! XOXO
Gail says
I am fascinated with your process of reconfiguring and organizing your garage – what hard work and clever ideas! I am now inspired to tackle a little better organization in our garage. And I’d love to see your ‘scrapbook’ of past creative endeavors. Thanks for sharing your new and improved work space!
Christy says
Aww thank you, Gail! Thank goodness for Amazon lol. I’m looking forward to sharing my dolls…there were some really cute ones! XOXO
Deb says
I loved seeing where you do all of your amazing creating! And I always love a good before and after. Wow, you sure did a lot of work, but the payoff was worth it, I’d say. The view of your workspace is gonna make you smile every day, and that’s always a good thing. Can’t wait to see what comes out of that space next. I’m in awe!
Christy says
Aww I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Deb! Thank you! I walked out there this morning to work on Thursday’s project and I was smiling so hard ready to get to work!! XOXO
Teri O says
Now you’ve inspired me to clean up and get better organized too. I have a small work room in the house and a shed 12’x 20’, that isn’t heated. So I work in both depending on the weather. I have duplicates of most smaller tools for each space. But now it’s time to have everything in the shed for the summer. Your after pics are great. I better get started.
Christy says
Oh I love that you are feeling inspired, Teri! That is the best! Happy organizing your spaces!! XOXO
Annabelle says
Great job Christy!
You’ve inspired me to organize my garage, thank you!
Annabelle
Christy says
Oh awesome! Thank you, Annabelle! Enjoy! XOXO
Claudine Dionne says
Okay, you KNOW we want to see the dolls you made in your “past life”! Your garage looks terrific and best of all, very functional…I can’t believe you worked for so long with no sink for brushes and cleaning the pieces you work on, for so long, I hope the plumbing work goes well!
Christy says
Oh yay…yes I will be sure to share my dolls…they were so sweet! And thank you! I can’t believe it has taken this long to get a sink either. My hubby bought the plumbing supplies today, so I should be up an running by the weekend woohoo! XOXO
Anita says
OMG! What an incredible amount of work for you! What an amazing transformation, though. You must feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders getting this done! And good for you for investing in storage solutions to keep your cleaned up space organized — I find cleaning up a space is not enough. You need storage solutions to correct the problem or you end up back where you started in no time! Great job! You will now probably find you are more efficient and productive when you are working on your projects, with everything organized and accessible. Talk about Spring Cleaning!
Christy says
Thank you, Anita! I feel so much lighter for sure! Yes, I agree…we definitely need systems in place that make it easier to maintain. I so enjoyed working on my piece for Thursday in my new and improved space! XOXO
Cyndi says
OMG, did I need to see this! I feel really inspired now to clean up and purge my own garage and the rooms in my house where my “stuff” has settled (dining room and a bedroom). You’ve given some really good ideas for organizing everything! And, yes, I would love to see more of your trip down memory lane. That doll is adorable. 🙂
Christy says
Oh yay! I’m so glad you found some motivation for your own spaces! And yes, I will be sure to share more of my little creations in a post soon. Thank you so much, my friend! XOXO
Kimmylouwho says
Thanks for sharing your mess! Everyone has their own mess and it is nice to know that we are not alone! Great cleanup and organization!! You will be so happy to use that sink!! Hooray!
Christy says
Oh my goodness, girl…the mess is real!! Being creative is messy business and you are definitely not alone! My hubby bought the plumbing supplies for the sink tonight, so hopefully it will be ready to use by this weekend woohoo! XOXO
Cecilia says
It feels good, doesn’t it, to get it all clean and organized! Sometimes, it’s about shifting things around to make them more functional or accessible. Having a wash up sink is such a good thing to have too. It looks great and I know you worked hard. Yes, it would be fun to see what you used to make!
Have a great week!
😊Cecilia
Christy says
Yes, it sure does, my friend! It’s funny that most things stayed pretty much where they were with the exception of my wood scrap stash, but it still feels like I totally rearranged out there! Can’t wait for the hubby to hook up my sink this weekend! I’ll be sure to share my dolls in a post soon! Mwah! XOXO
Deanna says
Girl! Now you need to treat yourself to a well deserved massage! You took an overwhelming project and created a fabulous, organized, functional garage. I really commend you for getting it completely re-done and not giving up! Send me some of your energy! LOL.
Christy says
YES!! I sure would love a massage right about now! Y’all totally helped me get through it…having plans to share the finished space definitely kept me on track! Thank you, my friend! XOXO
p says
Now THAT is a reorg for the records ! I’m so impressed you kept at it till it was done. I usually do my purge/cleanouts in stages.
Sometimes… it’s because I can’t find something. Looks to me like you can find everything now ! Inspiring for sure !! Our garage has become a bomb zone. (it’s not my craft room) Really hoping to get it all cleaned/ rearranged soon. Thanks for sharing every last corner ! It’s good to have the whole picture. And I’ll be using some of your storage ideas.
I’d love to see your dolls 🙂 You have obviously been a serious crafter for a looong time !
Christy says
Thank you, P!! This is the biggest cleanout of a space I’ve ever done, and I am absolutely thrilled to have it complete! Knowing I had plans to share it here definitely motivated me to keep at it. I’m so glad you found some ideas helpful. I’ll share my dolls soon…I made a ton of dolls lol! XOXO
Jackie C says
wow girl, you made an AmaaaZiNg difference! To be young and so full of energy again *sigh. Absolutely I want to see your pictures of dolls you made! I loved the garden to a rack. And I need you to send me that horse you’re going to put in your booth 😇 really loved your mobile workbench. Honestly there’s nothing that you’ve shown that I didn’t just love. And I’ve always wanted a garage sink too or at least a laundry room sink. This was fun and I’m glad you showed every nook and corner.
Ya did good!
Christy says
Thanks so much, my friend! I was so excited to find so many new storage solutions that will hopefully help me to keep it organized. The garden rack is awesome! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! XOXO
Vicki says
Ok, now I’m inspired to work on my mess, I mean garage 🙂 Really enjoyed the tour! I love seeing how you organized things and it certainly gave me some ideas for my own junk…I mean stuff (ha ha). I, too, would enjoy seeing the dolls you used to make. You are so very creative and very talented!!
Christy says
Oh yay! I love that you enjoyed the tour and you found some things that might work for your own space! And I sure will share my dolls in a post soon. It will fun be fun to go down memory lane! Thank you so much, my friend! XOXO

Girl…U R a hoot! I got tired just looking at all the work u did! It really looks nice and will give u a clean space to work in. All in all, u r a hot mess and I just luv your mind and all your creations. I would glue that statue back together and put some pearls on her neck. Always fun to see your work!

Ha ha! Thank you so much, Cheryl! My body is still feeling it, lol! The garbage man took the statue today. I bought the set of two for a dollar each at a yard sale last summer and I have just been moving them around my space lol. I don’t even know why I bought them except for they were super cheap lol. Have a great rest of your week, my sweet friend! XOXO

Oh my heavens! You are incorrect to think that I wouldn’t want to see your “mess” and how you purged and made your space perfect. You are incredible, Christy! What a good job.
I ordered your bag for storing stencils, and I also ordered the portfolio to better organize my transfer pieces. In my basement I have the transfer tubes attached to the wall with Velcro. So, the portfolio will be very handy for those that are not in a tube. I have quite a few pieces of decoupage, so they are stored in a fabric covered box. I don’t like working in the basement, but I have such a small home I don’t have any choice. There are 3 sets of shelving I still have to put up. I LOVE your paint brush storage! What a crafty lass you are! XXOO
Christy says
Aww you are the sweetest, Caye, thank you!! I was so excited to find new and better ways to store things like the stencil bag! And the book is great to keep all the parts of the smaller transfers together. I love the idea of velcroing the tubes to the wall. We are too close to sea level here to have basements, but I envy you guys that have all that extra space! Happy organizing, my friend!! XOOX

This was so satisfying to watch. You’ve inspired me to work on mine. Thanks!!

Oh I am so glad you enjoyed it, Terri, and I love that you’re feeling inspired! XOXO

It looks wonderful, and I bet it feels even better. I love organized spaces!
Christy says
Thank you, Lizzy! It was so nice to work on today’s makeover out there with all that space!! XOXO

Spring cleaning is in the air! I just began a purge, reorganization of my out of control office/library/ sewing/ craft storage room! A much smaller scale project, and once again , you have provided inspiration! I enjoyed this post and found it motivational. Perfect timing! Enjoy your reclaimed space!
Christy says
Yes! It’s such a great time to get in there and get it done, and I love that you are inspired to keep at it! Enjoy your reclaimed space too! XOXO

You crack me up! Loved the pics, especially with the shelf wrapped around the pipes. I’d like to invite you north to help me purge my garage. I’ll send pics and you’ll think, “My, we are kindred spirits.” Nice job!
I vote YES to see the past projects from your book(s). You’ve got some talent so why not share?!
Christy says
I can’t believe I assembled that shelf like that. Why?? Ha ha! It’s hard to stay neat when creating, isn’t it? And yay…I think y’all will get a kick out of some of the sweet things I used to make, so I’ll share soon! XOXO

Wow!! Amazing transformation of a workspace. I know that took you a lot of time and was a lot of work too. I love the doll that you found and said you used to make, how sweet! I’m kinda jealous as all I have is my laundry room for storage (no garage). Thanks for sharing your wonderful work space where you do all the magic on furniture!
Christy says
Thank you, Geri! I’m glad you enjoyed seeing my workspace. At least only have the laundry room helps to keep you from hoarding, right? I feel like I have this big space, so I can keep bringing more junk home lol! Have a lovely weekend, my friend! XOXO

Good job 🙂 Everything looks perfect. When you clean up , you feel like more air and light have entered the room. You also feel more eager to work .You’ve inspired me to get to work. I’d love to see the doll – making instruction .Maybe I’ll get some inspiration .Kisses.
Christy says
Thanks so much, Ewa! Absolutely! When I was done with today’s project, it made me want to put everything away nice and neat again! I love that you are feeling inspired also! I’ll have to see about instructions for the doll. I don’t know how to share them to scale, but I can certainly share what the pieces look like. XOXO
Ewa says
It doesn’t have to be to scale, and you don’t have to rush. If you have a moment , and I really do, I’ll (like most of us) take a look at something you’ve made before . I simply love you work and generally crafts and recykling. When I see something ready to be thrown away , my husband asks me what I’m thinking about for so long and I’ll buy an old jacked just for its buttons. I’m not a reformer :-))
Christy says
I appreciate that so much, Ewa! You are a girl after my own heart…I would totally buy an item just for its parts lol!
Linda says
AMAZING!! You inspired so many comments. You’re a true professional in your field. Goes w/o saying you’ll save so much time and feel great mentally. I think we can forget the thousands we have invested in supplies. I am SO happy for your new organization!!!
Christy says
Aww thank you SO much, Linda! I love that this post inspired others…there’s nothing like a clean, organized creative space! And absolutely, letting go of so much stuff and sorting the rest feels so freeing! I am SO happy too!! XOXO

Love a good laundry sink! When the heavy laundry sink original to my early-50s house cracked, I replaced it with an extra long and deep sink that I use constantly. I’ve washed dogs, babies, blinds, windowboxes and other outsize flower pots, bird baths, roaster pans, grill grids, rugs and many more things in it. You’re going to be so happy you got your sink.
Christy says
I am so excited to finally have a utility sink in my workspace, but after reading this, I think I should have gone bigger ha ha! XOXO

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! What a huge undertaking – and it is so well done. Good job, Christy. What a fabulous work space!!! And your sweet Raggedy Ann? You MADE her???? My gosh is there anything you cannot do, and do perfectly well? You used to sell them? Oh how adorable. I’d LOVE to see/learn more about this part of yourself you cared to share. She’s too cute to be stuck in a painting work space. Better save her. ♥ I’d like to see her in one of your photo shoots one day.
Christy says
Thanks, my friend! It feels so freeing to have my space so organized, and I put everything right back where it belongs after finishing the navy piece ha ha! We’ll see if I can keep that up. You will get a kick out of some of the things I used to make back in the day. I’ll share more soon! XOXO
