Hallow, my friends, and Happy Halloween! If you’ve just recently found me, welcome! I LOVE Halloween! Once a year, my readers are kind enough to let me take a break from thrifty makeovers to share my outdoor Halloween decor! This year, I’ve added something brand new that I’ve always wanted to do, a pumpkin arch!
If Halloween isn’t your thing, I totally get it, and I’ll be back on Thursday with something real pretty for you. But if you’re here for the Halloween, you are my people!
I don’t do gore at all. It’s mostly skeletons doing skeleton things and lots of pumpkins. You know the cheesy plastic Jack-o-lanterns that you just plug in? I love them!
I’ve included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I love.
Lot’s of pictures ahead…enjoy!
Let’s start with a view from the driveway of our neighbor across the street:
You can’t see anything from that far away though, so LET’S GET CLOSER!
I took my photos at dusk while there was still some light and at night and I will share them both!
That tree in the background above is this the tree in the upper left corner here…
But lets back up and see what you can’t see to the left of the photo above.
This mama and her baby are at the start of the walkway…
My MIL got real sad about that one, but I promise it’s all just plastic lol.
And how about these two mischief makers?
They are clearly up to no good, as always!
And at night:
Imagine
On Halloween night, I add mason jars with faux tealights all over and to line the walkway.
There is eerie music playing as a mist of fog drifts your way…
It comes from the mouth of this guy and from further down.
All of our outdoor Halloween decor looks spookier at night!
You may remember my lighted Trick or Treat sign I made several years ago…
Here’s a friendly face as you reach the steps…
This guy is on the other side of the steps to greet you, and you may remember my standing Halloween sign made from old fencing and a mailbox post I picked up from Home Depot:
Graveyard escapee…
And here is the brand new addition to my display this year!
It’s a Pumpkin Arch!
I have envisioned doing something like this pumpkin arch for years! Then, I came across this much larger one this summer and knew I had to finally do it!
Jack was home for a week earlier this month, and I put him and his girlfriend to work carving these craft pumpkins for my new pumpkin arch…
They were just going to carve a couple but then I came home to this!
There were several more on the other side of the completely-full-of-dishes-sink! These are carvable pumpkins from Michaels that we bought at 50% off.
It looks the best as the sun is fading and the faces start to glow…
At night, they really come to life!
They are attached to a frame of PVC with electrical ties.
I love all their funny faces!
I used a large drill bit to drill holes in the back of each one so I could add lights. I used these string lights (probably meant for Christmas village houses), but I swapped the clear bulbs for these orange LED C-7 bulbs so they wouldn’t get hot. Although they look white in the photos…they actually glow more orange in person. (Like in the daytime photo.)
So fun, right?
At the top of the stairs is the Butler. He was the first Halloween decoration we ever bought, and our outdoor Halloween decor just wouldn’t be complete without him…
He’s pretty creepy, but we love him. Someone actually stole him from our display at our old house many years ago, but we managed to find a replacement online.
A simple wreath for the door…
And to the right…these candles are fake and are on a timer:
The outsides are actually made of wax and they flicker like real candles. I found them HERE on Amazon.
This guy was the perfect size for this broken rocker. I decided to turn this piece into hanging Halloween decor when I was unable to fix it a few years ago…
Photo bomber!
Here’s a peek of the porch from farther away…
All the porch lights have been replaced with flickering bulbs which are really cool at night.
Here is the gal sitting in front of that mirror on the porch…
Remember the lamp from my spring haul?
It looked like this…
A neighbor had given it to me and I really liked it as is. I was going to put it in my shop just like this, but I got a fabulous suggestion from one of you to use it in my Halloween display! I loved that idea so much! (Thank you, K!)
I hit it with black spray paint, and it is perfect in my display!
This was an old flatware box I picked up for $2 at the thrift store and turned into this more spellbound Halloween box…
I added the dancing couple this year…
Here they are from this view…
The tree behind them was a new addition last year. It’s like a regular Christmas tree but black. I found it HERE. It’s covered in these pumpkin lights which actually glow more orange that the yellowy glow they show here.
And beside them on the bistro table…
That candleholder is the other item from my spring haul that I decided to save for my Halloween display!
It started out like this…
I gave it a fresh coat of black spray paint and then used Kacha’s Faux Gold Leafing on it and added these crystal drops from an old lamp…
See how I used this imitation gold leafing on this fabulous transformation.
This candle holder is very heavy, so it was perfect for my display since I wouldn’t have to worry about it blowing over.
I just love the bling of the gold leafing…
Of course, everything’s better after dark!
This area down below the porch used to be my main graveyard, but this volunteer Vinca came back in full force this year and it was so big and pretty that I didn’t have the heart to pull it out to make way for tombstones lol.
Colder weather is moving in today, so it won’t last much longer.
The dining room window shares a clear view of the skeleton dinner party going on inside…
You are welcome to join!
I decorated very similarly to last year, so I didn’t retake photos, but you can take that tour HERE.
I hope you enjoyed this year’s outdoor tour!
It gives me so much joy to bring our home to life for Halloween!
We are expecting rainy weather tonight. I hope it lightens up enough for the kiddos to enjoy themselves!
Happy Halloween to you all!
I’ll be back on Thursday with a pretty one…I’m sharing what I did with this silver tray from my current haul:
See ya then!
UPDATE: NO need to come back! See how this tray looks now here! It’s certainly less spooky!
XOXO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!

I didn’t think your Halloween display could get any better. I enjoyed the tour last year and this year is even better. Love the arch of pumpkins. Great job. I’m sure your home is a favorite of the kids who trick or treat.

XOXO

Janette Deans says
Oh WOW!!!!!! I thought last years decor was a hit but this is another story entirely….. How long did this take to create, its fabulous, looks more like a set for a horror film, I absolutely love it and all those wonderful pumpkin faces are brilliant. I would love to walk past your house and get a real good look, thankyou so much for sharing your spectacular home..
Happy Halloween. xx
Christy says
Yay thank you so much, Janette! I had so much fun with it this year. It is always a treat to get to add something new. It did take me about three days to put together this year. I wish you could see it in person too! Happy Halloween! XOXO
Rita says

Thank you so much, Rita! XOXO
Carolyn Homan says
Thank you so much for sharing. Just the other day I was wondering if you were going to share your Halloween creation! Your display is so creative! Well, gotta go and join your skeleton dinner party inside! I love that too!
Christy says
Thank you, Carolyn! When I saw that Halloween fell on a day that I normally post, I had to save it for the big day lol! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! XOXO
Lorri says
I enjoy looking at all your hard work making the Boo- titular Holloween Extraganza. When do you put it up and how many hours does it take you to do it? Do your sons and hubby help? I bet you have so much fun doing this , laughing while you arrange all the skeletons and gargoyles.. lol. That pumpkin arch is something else!! The piece de la resistance!!! I’m just amazed that you have storage for all of this . I have a hard time with my Xmas stuff. You have your Xmas houses to store as well…Yikes. My hubby would shake his head and say Lorri…this is too much..he is a minimalist…. but hey..it is all tastefully done…Right!!!! Yep I think so… Enjoy and thank you for sharing .. very enjoyable..🕷🦴👁
Christy says
I am so glad you enjoyed it, Lorri, thank you!! My boys and hubby help bring it all down and pack it back up, but they stay out of my way when I’m decorating lol. I normally do the dining room first one day and then all the outdoor the next day. Building the new pumpkin arch added some time this year, so it took about three days. It should go up quicker next year though! Happy Halloween! XOXO
Deb says
Wow, Christy, just wow. I’m in awe of your incredible Halloween decor. I look forward to it every year and am always amazed anew at your imagination and all the special touches. It’s a feast for the eyes. I especially love the way you add in the items you’ve made over. So fun! And it looks great in the daylight, but at night, it’s incredible. I can only imagine how much fun the kids are gonna have coming to your house tonight! Okay, so now you have to tell us – where and how do you store all this stuff?! Do you have a storage unit just for Halloween?! lol! Thanks for sharing and have a happy Halloween!
Christy says
Thank you so much, Deb! I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour! It really does look so much better at night. Everything goes up in the attic. The skeletons collapse and we sit them upright in large bins up there…about five to a bin and it is so funny if you have to go up there mid summer for something lol! Happy Halloween! XOXO
Cecilia says
The pumpkin arch is fabulous! Jack and his girlfriend did a great job carving them. I bet the kids love trick or treating at your house. So much fun; I can’t even begin to list all the things I like, there’s too many. I have to say though, the lamp and candelabra are perfect additions. It all looks so fun! Happy Halloween!
🎃 Cecilia
Christy says
Thank you so much, Cecilia! What a blessing Jack and his girlfriend were on this project! They did such a good job. Happy Halloween! XOXO

First off; Jack is such a good-looking young man. I know you are so proud of him. Nobody does Halloween like you. You can look at these pictures over and over and still see something different. The best I’ve ever seen.
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Janice! Jack and his girlfriend were such a big help. I just love putting everything together each year, and I’m so glad you enjoy it! Happy Halloween! XOXO

Shannen says
“Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dreamed to dream before.”
– Edgar Allen Poe, The Raven
Christie, you continue to inspire awe. This is magnificent! If had the means, I’d fly across to the other side of this continent just to see it in the flesh. Well… in the “bones” I guess. There’s not much in the way of flesh going on here.
Christy says
Ha ha thank you so much, Shannen!! I try to capture it in photos, but it really is better in person…I wish you could come right on over and see it! XOXO
Michele M. says
WOW!! Boy, if they give out neighborhood awards you will surely be the winner. That is amazing and my grand girl would soooo love to hit up your awesome home for Beggar’s Night tonight!! Well done, Christy and family!!!!
Christy says
Aww thank you, Michele! I get so excited about Halloween! Your grand baby would love it! Hope she enjoyed tonight! XOXO
Liz Shivel says
Hi Christy, awesome Halloween decorations again! I do enjoy looking at all you do and can’t imagine the time it takes to pull this altogether each year! Thanks for all of it! Happy Halloween! 🎃
Christy says
Thank you so much, Liz! I can usually pull both indoor and outdoor together in two days, but this year it took me a bit longer because of the new pumpkin arch. It’s always enjoyable though! Glad you enjoyed it too! XOXO
Denise says
You and your family always do the absolute best Halloween decorations. You should be in a magazine!! Thanks for sharing and take good care.
Christy says
Oh wow thank you so much, Denise!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! XOXO
Addie says
Too much work for one night…I will be shutting off the lights and in a back TV room watching YouTube!!! You did a bang up job but Halloween is not for me…..once I found out the true meaning of it. How is it going to be if a strong storm comes in with wind? Rain can’t be good on all the stuff….I am sounding like an old bitty!!! lolo…..you did do a good job!!!
Christy says
Ha ha! Halloween certainly isn’t for everyone and that’s okay! My mom and sister turn off their porch lights too lol. I get such a kick out of seeing the kids and parents take it all in…so worth all the effort! Thanks, Addie! XOXO
Melanie Beavis says
I love all the decorations except the mama and baby one. I think you should not have that out as it felt “wrong”. I hope you understand what I mean. I respect your efforts to be creative. You are so talented!
Christy says
Thank you, Melanie! I don’t know if you read the text in my post, but my mother-in-law didn’t like that one either. I just reminded her that they’re just plastic. XOXO
Debbie in TX says
Wow, this is even more awesome than before! That pumpkin arch really puts the perfect finishing touch on your decorations and creates an eye-catching focal point for the front door. I love all of the different faces on the pumpkins, too. I’m sure it was extra special to have help from Jack and his girlfriend. I hope the weather holds out for you tonight. The kids are gonna love it! Happy Halloween, my friend!!
Christy says
Thank you so much, Debbie! I am so thrilled with how that arch turned out and I love that Jack and his gf got to help with it! We did get rained on tonight, but still had lots of visitors! Happy Halloween!! XOXO
ROBIN GREEN says
WOW!!! YOU DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! LOOK FORWARD TO THIS EVERY YEAR.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU,
Christy says
Thank you so much, Robin!! I am thrilled to hear that you look forward to it and that I could deliver this year! XOXO
Jan Gibson says
I love seeing your Halloween decorations each year. I’d love to know how many totes you have to store all this! LOL
Christy says
Thank you, Jan! We used to use large totes that would be quite heavy to get up and down the attic stairs, so a couple of years ago I invested in smaller ones that didn’t hold as much but were easier to manage, so we have A LOT ha ha! XOXO
Luana says
AWESOME!!! I’m wishing I could do all that too. A couple years ago you inspired me to acquire a skeleton and to find her a dress, wig, and spooky headband. She now has a set of twins with a herd of black
Flamingos on the porch. I do it for me—and the mailman. We’re the only ones who see it. Sadly we don’t get trick or treaters.
Christy says
Thank you, Luana! I love that you have joined in too! While I do get lots of visitors on Halloween, I totally do it for me too! I just get such a kick out of it! XOXO
MARIETTA Walker says
Sooo cute. I used to love decorating for all the Holidays. Now the kids are grown and we live on ten acres in our log home and no one comes out here to see it all anymore. So I just put it all inside knowing the family will enjoy it all at our gatherings! It sure has cut down on the works!
Christy says
Thank you, Marietta! That totally makes sense! Now that both of our kids are too old to trick-or-treat, I wonder how long we will continue. I just love it so much, so we have some years left, I’m afraid lol! XOXO
Betty says
Awesome job Christy! I love checking out what you have designed every year. Keep it up! Love the ones Jack and his girlfriend created. ♥️
Christy says
Thank you, Betty! I’m so glad you enjoy it! It was so nice that Jack and his girl could help, and they did a fantastic job for sure! XOXO
Virginia Somerville says
Amazing display!! I love seeing what you’ve added and arranged. You’re an inspiration! Love it!
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Virginia! I’m taking a short break from packing it all away at the moment, and it’s always sad to see it go lol! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! XOXO
Sharon L Austin says
Amazing, as always! I’d love to trick or treat there, even at my age, lol.
Christy says
Thank you, Sharon! Come on, girl, I’ll give you candy ha ha! XOXO
Robin says
Girrrllll, you done good this year!!!!!! Love all the additions to your skellie crew. Alas, this final Halloween year (in a house) was a total bust. I packed 40 trick/treat goody bags because last year I gave away 35. All night we had just ONE (1) ring of the doorbell. So upset; had a pity party; was going to excommunicate all my Halloween decor. Cooler mind prevailed and I thinned my decor so that just the interior (in a smaller way) will be kept. Still keeping Mr & Mrs. Bonejangles + Bonaventure their dog.
Christy says
Thank you, Robin! It was so sad to see it all come down. And what a bummer that you didn’t get much in the way of trick-or-treaters. It rained here, so business was definitely slow here as well. Glad you kept the Bonejangles family lol! XOXO
