Give an Outdated Shelf New Life

Hey Ya'll, what happened to fall??  It was hot here today...I might have even broken a sweat just by being outside! Today I'm sharing how I gave new life to a little old shelf I found during this yard sale trip. You can barely see it in the bottom corner. I've already tackled a couple of pieces, like the drop leaf table  in the center. Like I said, it's just a little old shelf, but there were a couple of things that made me buy it. I figured I would do something with it … [Read more...]

Well hello there!  I'm so glad you dropped by... because I love when you visit!  Come on in, I have a great chair makeover to share with you today. Do you remember these fabulous finds I dragged home from Lucketts? Isn't that bed in the back gorgeous?! I know it's a … [Read more...]

Chevron Shade and a Halloween Vignette

It's that time again. Time to reveal my Get Your DIY on Fall Party Challenge Project. Our theme for this Sunday's party is spray paint projects. When I was deciding what to do for this project, the first thing that came to mind was this lampshade. I found it at a yard sale this summer for $2, but it was pretty plain. I thought I really scored finding this really nice lampshade...turns out,  it's from Wal-Mart! But it's still a nice lamp shade. Plus if I ruin it while … [Read more...]

Sweet Little Table Redo

This really is a sweet little table that I'm sharing today. It's also another piece I acquired from Omi. You can read more about her and her pretty sewing box makeover here. It was built by someone in her family many years ago. Here is the before: A diamond in the rough! I thought it would be the perfect little table for my downstairs bathroom. This is the bathroom our visitors use. My husband retiled it from floor to ceiling before I came along.  Although it's beautiful, it … [Read more...]

Old Fence Pickets to Pretty Tray

Hello beautiful friends. Would you like to see a fun upcycle today? Of course you would!  I'm almost a bit embarrassed to show you the part of this project that was collected from the side of the road. Although I was able to repurpose it in a cool way. This is my new tray upcycled from old fence pickets and a thrift store frame: Swanky, eh? (Or is it just the graphics...they sure can make a photo look fancy!) It really is pretty though, especially when you compare it to this … [Read more...]

Old Shelf Saved

I have  a fun little makeover to share with you today. This shelf was purchased dusty and neglected for $5. It has a funky top shelf that I imagine held silverware at one time, but would not be very useful today: So I wacked it out and replaced that piece with a regular shelf: Then I gave it a wainscot backing and a coat of Annie Sloan's Duck Egg Blue chalk paint... I love this color. Much better... now it's functional again. I'm really pleased with how it … [Read more...]
