Sew Easy Outdoor Cushion Covers(Part 2)

If you read my last post, Sew Easy Outdoor Cushion Covers (Part 1), you know how easy it is to give your outdoor furniture new life.  You don't need to be an expert with your machine to make simple covers for those old cushions, just a willingness to try! In this episode (sounds like I'm ready for TV now ha ha ), I am kicking it up a notch.  I'm sharing my new outdoor settee cushions.  This is a tiny bit more difficult, but still really simple! Take a look: Cute, huh? (I … [Read more...]

Sew Easy Outdoor Cushion Covers (Part 1)

Looking  to replace your outdoor cushion covers?  You've come to the right place! I'm going to show you step-by-step how easy it is to make new covers for those faded, time-worn, covered in bird poop and who knows what else, outdoor cushions! It came with several pieces and the price was … [Read more...]

What I Brought Home from Lucketts

Probably like most, I've heard quite a bit about The Old Lucketts Store from Marian of Miss Mustard Seed. When she started blogging about getting ready for her annual trip to Lucketts  Spring Market a few weeks ago, I thought it would be great if I could actually go.  As a mom to a toddler, you can't just make those decisions on the fly. Especially when Lucketts is four hours from your front door. Then Funky Junk Donna announced she was coming too.  Okay now this was serious! I love me some … [Read more...]

Sewing Stool Redo & Chalk Paint Recipe Revealed

Hello beautiful friends! This is a SUPER OLD post, but the information is just as relevant today as it was when I wrote this! This little stool was my guinea pig for DIY chalk paint way back when I first started using it. Forgive the small awkward photos. I've learned a thing or two about photography since then! I've included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I use. I found this little stool at an estate sale for $10: I thought it would be the perfect project to … [Read more...]

DIY Summer Wreath for Under $10!!

It is time...time to change out my Winter to Spring wreath. Isn't it crazy how expensive wreaths can be to buy already finished? There are so many new ways to create a budget-friendly wreath floating around out there, but I'm a fan of the traditional flowers-on-grapevine wreaths.  Call me unadventurous I guess, but that's what I like. Creating this type of wreath can seem harder than it really is.  Sometimes I think  it's just  knowing what stems to buy. I'm going to … [Read more...]

Where We go to Get Away from it All

We live a little over a mile from the ocean. Living in our neighborhood is a blessing...and a curse. It's close enough, but just far enough away from all the hustle. Being able to ride our bikes to the beach or walk to the water park is awesome. Plus we really love our close-knit community. But to own a home here, we've had to settle on a few things. Our lot is teeny tiny and we can almost reach out and touch our neighbors. (Good thing our neighbors are awesome!)  Our street backs right up … [Read more...]

My Fairy Garden

Although I can build a gate (Like how I worked that in? Really you should check it out if you haven't already), I am a girly girl at heart. Growing up, I always loved playing with my barbies and setting up the house; rearranging the furniture. I think God knew what he was doing when he gave me boys though, because I would not be very good at sharing my barbies! (I'm serious.) Growing up, I had my favorite. She had longer hair than normal (that's probably why she was my favorite, I had Dorothy … [Read more...]

My $20 Yard Sale Table

I was out with my babies last Saturday yard saling and as I was perusing one particular yard sale, my eyes came upon something unbelievable.  It was this: Which was attached to this:   $20?? Really? I had another moment of, "I don't want to walk away, because someone else might grab it!" You've felt that before too, I'm sure. I took it up to the ladies and quickly paid and just about bolted to my car with it before they changed their minds. And now it looks like … [Read more...]

Is This how Hoarding Starts?

I live in a three bedroom home with my husband and two sons, ages two and ten.  There is no room for me to house my treasured finds and upcycles-in-waiting let alone a place to actually create. This is my craft room: It looks an awfully lot like a kitchen, no? What I love though, is this big island. It's usually got a bunch of junk on it that I have to move to the right so I can work, but it leaves me with a good 3' X 4' of workspace. I also love that I don't have to bend over to … [Read more...]
