Thrift Store Box Gets a Makeover

Hello friends!  I have a cute little makeover to share with you today. I found this box at the thrift store last week for $2:

Of course it didn’t look like this when I bought it…it looked like this:

It was pretty beat up. But I adopted it, welcomed it into my home, and gave it a new life.

I used the tiny bit of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old white that I had left and gave it two coats. Then I taped off a chevron pattern…

And painted over the tape in a mix of old white and provence ASCP.  After removing the tape, I sanded it and gave it a coat of clear wax.

I also added little ball feet and a pretty faux glass knob.

This would be a great little box to hold remotes or incoming mail. I wonder what it was used for in its former life?

I love how it turned out!

From eww…

 To ooh la la!

Not bad for two whole dollars. 🙂

Have a great week!
